This weekend we will hold our first Early Bird
Raffle at the 9AM Mass for a chance to win
$100. The second Early Bird drawing for
$100 will take place on Sunday, July 13th at
the 10:30 A.M. Mass. Those who have sold
all ten raffle tickets and have made payment
for them will be eligible to win in the Early Bird raffles. The cover
of the raffle book, on which is printed the name of the seller, is
used for the drawing so be sure to turn in the cover if you sell all
ten raffle tickets. More raffle books can be obtained at the rectory office. We need everyone’s help to make our parish Raffle a

St. Richard Parish, located at 5030 S. Kostner Ave in Chicago,IL,
is celebrating its 80th anniversary at a 12PM Mass in the church
on Sunday, June 29th. A reception will follow at the Burbank
Manor, located at 6345 W. 79th St. in Burbank, IL. The reception
will begin at 2PM.
All former parishioners and alumni are encouraged to attend. For

St. John of the Cross Parish is holding its 35th Annual Garage
Sale. Over the years, this sale has been a great success because there are thousands of items at very low prices. Everyone
is invited to come and find a favorite bargain from among rooms
full of furniture, clothing, house wares, toys, treasures, books,
lamps, lighting fixtures, bikes, hardware, garden supplies and
more! The sale will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 9AM to
2PM. 1/2 price bag sale—Monday, June 23rd from 10AM to 1PM.
St. John of the Cross Parish is located at 51st and Wolf Road in
Western Springs, IL.
The next Neighborhood Watch meeting for our neighborhood
area will be held in Makuch Hall. The meeting will be held on

Sunday, June 15 Matthew 9:36-10-8
Jesus was moved to compassion at the
sight of the crowds who flocked to him for
healing and comfort, for “they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a
shepherd.” His tender concern gives us
insight into the very heart of God’s plan.
From eternity, the Father has longed to
gather his children into one body living under the headship of his Son, animated and united in his Spirit. In
our liturgy we acknowledge how God has been at work throughout history to fulfill this plan: “From age to age you gather a people to yourself so that from east to west a perfect offering may
be made into the glory of your name.” (Third Eucharistic
Prayer).
Carefully, over countless generations, God unfolded his plan,
preparing the world for the time when he could gather a people
to himself from every nation and people. Then finally, Jesus
came to deliver everyone from slavery to sin and to bring all of
us into a new relationship with God. By his cross, he inaugurated the church, which is nothing less than the gathering of
those who have been redeemed.
This was the message the apostles brought to the whole
world, and which we are now called to proclaim as well. Jesus
calls all of us to do what he did to form the people of God: reach
out to the lonely and isolated, take pity on the helpless, befriend
the poor and marginalized. We can begin in our families and
parishes, and move into the wider community around us.
Such love does not come naturally, so we need to ask the
Holy Spirit to teach us true charity as we work to build the kingdom of God. Jesus has left it to us, his followers, to continue to
fulfill his heart-felt prayer: “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send our
laborers for his harvest.”
“Lord, I want to work with you in bringing your great plan to fulfillment. Come, Jesus, and give me your heart of compassion.”

journey from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with your
invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, or
explosion, of falls and bruises; and finally having preserved us from all
evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Amen.

En aquel tiempo, al ver Jesús a las gentes, se
compadecía de ellas, porque estaban extenuadas
y abandonadas, como ovejas que no tienen pastor. Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: -- La mies es
abundante, pero los trabajadores son pocos; rogad, pues, al Señor de la mies que mande trabajadores a su mies. Llamó a sus doce discípulos,
les dio autoridad para expulsar espíritus inmundos
y curar toda enfermedad y dolencia. Éstos son los
nombres de los doce apóstoles: el primero, Simón, el llamado Pedro, y su hermano Andrés;

Invitamos a participar en la Adoración
del Santísimo Sacramento. Cada Miércoles tenemos la Adoración todo el día.
Por eso les invitamos a encontrar el
tiempo para Cristo e inscribirse para
una o dos horas de adoración. Pueden

la iglesia.
Rifa Parroquial
Les avisamos que está la Rifa Parroquial se va a efectuar el día 24 de
Agosto. Todos los que no son registrados en nuestra parroquia pueden
comprarla. El premio principal es de
$3000. El costo de un ticket es de $10. El ticket
se puede adquirir a la salida de la iglesia o en
la oficina parroquial.
Ya hemos terminado las clases de
catecismo (CCD) de año 2007/2008.
Las inscripciones para nuevo año de
2008/2009 se realizarán el día jueves 12 de Agosto de 2008. También
las formas de registro pueden dejar en la rectoría junto con el pago y la copia de certificado de bautismo.

Este Domingo, 15 de Junio todas las Misias celebramos por nuestros Padres vivos o los que han fallecidos. No nos olvidemos de rezar por ellos no solamente
este día, pero siempre, para que san tan
santos como San José el esposo de la
Virgen María.
Un padre es el soporte en
nuestro hogar,
el que se guarda los sentimientos en la profundidad de su alma,
el que te da seguridad en tus
horas de angustia,
es el héroe de tus cuentos infantiles,
es aquel que te impone respeto en la adolescencia
pero si te fijas bien, cuánta ternura desprenden sus ojos al
mirarnos!
Es quizás el que no te prodiga de besos y abrazos como
tu madre,
pero en las noches cuando uno duerme, es el que se asoma con suavidad a tu cuarto
y con suma delicadeza cubre nuestro cuerpo con la sábana que hemos enrollado a nuestros pies,
mientras la emoción le nubla los ojos, porque se siente tan
orgulloso de tenernos!
Tenemos que comprender el papel que muchas veces se
le asigna a nuestro padre,
un papel un tanto distante, severo,
¿quién de nosotros no habrá escuchado de su madre alguna vez decirnos..'se lo voy a decir a tu padre cuando
llegue'...
y uno se siente temeroso pero a la vez espera ansioso el
regreso del padre
y cuando lo alcanzas a divisar desde la ventana,
ya no temes el regaño, lo que esperas anheloso,
es su abrazo protector!
Gracias a todos ellos, nuestros padres.
Felicidades a los hijos que lo han disfrutado toda su vida,
a los que lo tuvieron poco tiempo,
pero fue muy intenso ese transcurrir,
a los que por las circunstancias tuvimos que crecer sin
ellos a nuestro lado,
no juzguemos, disfrutemos del recuerdo emotivo del padre
que junto con el amor de una madre, hacen de nuestra
vida feliz.!

Jezus widząc tłumy ludzi, litował się nad nimi,
bo byli znękani i porzuceni, jak owce nie mające pasterza. Wtedy rzekł do swych uczniów:
żniwo wprawdzie wielkie, ale robotników mało.
Proście Pana żniwa, żeby wyprawił robotników
na swoje żniwo. Wtedy przywołał do siebie
dwunastu swoich uczniów i udzielił im władzy
nad duchami nieczystymi, aby je wypędzali i
leczyli wszystkie choroby i wszelkie słabości. A
oto imiona dwunastu apostołów: pierwszy Szymon, zwany Piotrem, i brat jego Andrzej, potem
Jakub, syn Zebedeusza, i brat jego Jan, Filip i
Bartłomiej, Tomasz i celnik Mateusz, Jakub,
syn Alfeusza, i Tadeusz, Szymon Gorliwy i Judasz Iskariota, ten, który Go zdradził. Tych to
Dwunastu wysłał Jezus, dając im następujące
wskazania: Nie idźcie do pogan i nie wstępujcie
do żadnego miasta samarytańskiego! Idźcie raczej do owiec, które poginęły z domu Izraela.
Idźcie i głoście: Bliskie już jest królestwo niebieskie. Uzdrawiajcie chorych, wskrzeszajcie
umarłych, oczyszczajcie trędowatych, wypędzajcie złe duchy! Darmo otrzymaliście, darmo
dawajcie!

Ojca. Dziś Msze św. w naszym kościele są
sprawowane w intencji Ojców.
Troszczmy się o to, by modlitwą otaczać
swoich ojców tak żyjących jak i zmarłych.

Bożych, Bożego błogosławieństwa i nieustannej opieki św. Józefa.

10.30 odbywa się kurs przedmałżeński. Osoby
zamierzające zawrzeć Sakrament Małżeństwa powinny
pamiętać, iż należy:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej pół
roku przed ślubem w celu ustalania daty i złożenia
depozytu.
► na trzy miesiące przed ustaloną datą ślubu
dostarczyć:
♦ świadectwo chrztu i bierzmowania wystawione przez
proboszcza nie później niż sześć miesięcy przed datą
ślubu.
