Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place every

in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord. Benediction takes
place at 8:50 AM.

BIBLE STUDY: A REFLECTION ON THE DIVINE
WORD
Our newly-formed bible study group meets every 1st
& 3rd Saturday of the month in the parish center at
3:30PM. Please note, group will not meet on the Holy
Saturday. Discussions consist of reflections based on the
Sunday lectionary readings.

TODAY’S READINGS
SEEDS OF FAITH
First Reading - Peter is an eyewitness: The Lord is risen
(Acts 10:34a, 37-43).
Psalm - This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice
and be glad (Psalm 118).
(1) Second Reading - All who are baptized, set your
hearts in heaven (Colossians 3:1-4) or
(2) Second Reading- Christ our Passover is sacrificed;
therefore let us celebrate (1 Corinthians 5:6b-8).
Gospel - Three witnesses, Mary, Peter, and John; each
responds to the empty tomb (John 20:1-9) or
Matthew 28:1-10 (or, at an afternoon or evening Mass,
Luke 24:13-35).
There is a brevity, a certain terseness, in the scripture
readings for Easter Sunday. Peter’s speech in Acts is built
of direct, pointed sentences. Paul’s letters are based on
straightforward creed-like statements. Even the Gospel
story only briefly recounts what will turn out to be one of
the most remarkable events in human history - the
resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Advertising agents
call these encapsulated points of information “bullet
points.” Scripture scholars call them kerygma, or
“kernels” of our faith. Actually, “kernels” or “seeds” are
good terms for these statements, since throughout the
Easter season, we will hear in the Acts of the Apostles,
the Letters of Paul and the Gospel accounts of the days
following the Resurrection, exactly how these kerygma
began to flower, how they continued to grow through the
life of the early church. May these Easter “seeds” of faith
serve a similar purpose for us, too, so that the life of the
Risen Christ will flourish in us and through our witness in
the coming days.

THE EUCHARIST: FOOD FOR RESURRECTION
How do we celebrate Easter, the greatest of our
Christian feasts? By doing what we do every Sunday and
every day: celebrating the Mass. On the first Easter, as the
heartbroken disciples walked the road to Emmaus, the
Lord was with them but they did not realize it. They only
recognized him “in the breaking of the bread” (Luke
22:35).
It is the same for us. In the Mass - the breaking of the
bread - we meet the risen Lord together. We meet him in
each other - for by our baptism into his death and
resurrection, we have become members of one body, the
Body of Christ. We meet him in his word - in the liturgy
the scriptures are proclaimed to us, that they might take
root and grow in us. And we meet him in a special way in
the Eucharist, the sacrament of his Body and Blood,
which is food for resurrection: “whoever eats this bread
will live forever” (John 6:51). The Lord is risen indeed,
and it is the Risen One who truly presides at this and
every Eucharist.

WIELKANOC ANNO DOMINI 2015
Jeśliście więc razem z Chrystusem powstali z
martwych, szukajcie tego, co w górze, gdzie przebywa
Chrystus zasiadając po prawicy Boga. Dążcie do tego,
co w górze, nie do tego, co na ziemi. Umarliście bowiem
i wasze życie jest ukryte z Chrystusem w Bogu. Gdy się
ukaże Chrystus, nasze życie, wtedy i wy razem z Nim
ukażecie się w chwale.
List do Kolosan 3, 1 - 4
Po upływie szabatu, o świcie pierwszego dnia
tygodnia przyszła Maria Magdalena i druga Maria
obejrzeć grób. A oto powstało wielkie trzęsienie ziemi.
Albowiem anioł Pański zstąpił z nieba, podszedł,
odsunął kamień i usiadł na nim. Postać jego jaśniała jak
błyskawica, a szaty jego były białe jak śnieg. Ze strachu
przed nim zadrżeli strażnicy i stali się jakby umarli.
Anioł zaś przemówił do niewiast: Wy się nie bójcie!
Gdyż wiem, że szukacie Jezusa Ukrzyżowanego. Nie ma
Go tu, bo zmartwychwstał, jak powiedział. Chodźcie,
zobaczcie miejsce, gdzie leżał. A idźcie szybko i
powiedzcie Jego uczniom: Powstał z martwych i oto
udaje się przed wami do Galilei. Tam Go ujrzycie. Oto,
co wam powiedziałem. Pośpiesznie więc oddaliły się od
grobu, z bojaźnią i wielką radością, i biegły oznajmić to
Jego uczniom. A oto Jezus stanął przed nimi i rzekł:
Witajcie. One podeszły do Niego, objęły Go za nogi i
oddały Mu pokłon. A Jezus rzekł do nich: Nie bójcie się.
Idźcie i oznajmijcie moim braciom: niech idą do Galilei,
tam Mnie zobaczą.

REFLEKSJA NAD CZYTANIAMI NIEDZIELNYMI
„Zmartwychwstałem i zawsze jestem z Tobą”. To
właśnie się dokonało. Nie jesteśmy już sami, chociaż
może niejeden raz w naszym życiu będzie jeszcze
ciężko i smutno, a może nawet „beznadziejnie”. Nie
jesteśmy sami, zło przegrało na zawsze. Chrystus jest
naszą nadzieją. Ukazał się Marii, a dzisiaj ukazuje się
także nam w tajemnicy Eucharystii. Jest obecny,
zmartwychwstały, w zasięgu ręki – i czeka, abyśmy

LECTURAS DE HOY
Primera lectura - Pedro es un testigo: el Señor ha
resucitado (Hch 10:34a, 37-43).
Salmo - Este es el día que hizo el Señor; regocijé-monos y
alegrémonos (Salmo 118 [117]).
(1) Segunda lectura - Todos los bautizados, eleven su
corazón al cielo (Colosenses 3:1-4) o
(2) Segunda lectura - Cristo nuestra Pascua fue sacrificado; por tanto celebremos (1 Corintios 5:6b-8).
Evangelio - Tres testigos, María, Pedro y Juan; cada uno
responde a la tumba vacía (Juan 20:1-9)
SEMILLAS DE FE
Hay una brevedad, una cierta concisión en las lecturas
del Domingo de Pascua. El discurso de Pedro en Hechos
está construido con frases directas y al punto. Las cartas
de Pablo se basan en declaraciones directas como credos.
Hasta el relato del Evangelio sólo narra brevemente lo
que resultará ser uno de los sucesos más notables de la
historia humana –la Resurrección de Jesús de entre los
muertos. Los agentes publicitarios llaman a estos
resúmenes “puntos para destacar”. Los biblistas los
llaman kerigma o las “semillas” de nuestra fe. En
realidad, “semillas” o granos son buenos términos para
estas afirmaciones, puesto que durante todo el tiempo de
Pascua, oiremos en los Hechos de los Apóstoles, en las
cartas de Pablo y en los relatos del Evangelio sobre los
días que siguieron a la Resurrección, exactamente cómo
ese kerigma comienza a florecer, cómo continúa
creciendo en la vida de la nueva Iglesia. Que estas
“semillas” pascuales de fe sirvan un propósito similar
para nosotros también, para que la vida de Cristo
Resucitado florezca en nosotros y mediante nuestro
testimonio en los días que siguen.
