PARISH ANNUAL WIGILIA
Mark your calendars...St. Mary’s
annual Wigilia Dinner will be held
on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at
the European Chalet, 5445 S. Harlem Avenue in Chicago, IL. There will be an
11:00am Mass followed by dinner, entertainment
and dancing. Adult tickets will sell for $30 per
person and tickets for children 3 to 12 yrs. are
$15 per child. Tickets are available this weekend,
after all Masses. Tickets are also available at the
rectory during office hours from 9am to 5pm.

is $5 per person.
Are you 70 1/2 or Over?
Do You Have an IRA Account?
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 contains important provisions designed to encourage charitable contributions by individuals. The good news is that for
2006 and 2007 individuals older than 70 1/2 can make
tax free distributions of up to $100,000 from their IRAs
to a charitable organization. The charitable donation
counts toward the required minimum distribution that
qualified plans require of those 70 1/2 and older.
This is for a limited time only. Current legislation has
these benefits expiring by the end of 2007.
If this fits one’s financial management plan, a donation can be made to our parish. The transaction may
be only completed by the parishioner’s financial institution in one of two ways:
Wire the Donation: 1) The financial institution can wire
an amount to the parish’s operating account; if this
option is selected; the financial institution contacts the
parish to get the banking routing information; 2) The
financial institution writes a check to the parish and
mails the check to the parish. (The individual neither
wires the money nor sends a personal check. The
transaction must occur by the financial institution managing the IRA. For the 2006 tax year, some financial
institutions will require a few days processing time.
Therefore the 2006 transaction might need to be completed by December 15, 2006.

Our Lord, Jesus Christ invites you to

Sacrament takes place after the 8am

“ills” in our world - the war, abortion,

St. Mary’s School News
As we approach the end of the
calendar year as well as 111
years of dynamic Catholic education, any activities and events
are planned. We welcome all
parishioners to join us.
► A four day benefit Buffet breakfast (2/3 of the
proceeds will be given to our school) at the Xnipec
Restaurant located at 5135 W. 25th Street on November 17th, 18th, 25th and 26th. The breakfast
will be served from 9am to 11:30am. Tickets are $8
and can be purchased at the school office or $10 if
purchased at the restaurant.
► Family Mass on Saturday, December 2nd featuring our Children’s choir and students from the 4th
grade as lectors. After the Mass, tickets for the
Giant Christmas Cash Raffle will be sold for $5
each. Raffle prizes: 1st Prize, $1,000; two $500
prizes: and three $100 prizes for a total of $2,300.
► An Advent prayer service at 1:45pm on Tuesday,
December 5th with the Archdiocesan School Improvement Visiting Team present, will be held in
the Church..
► The Christmas Cash Raffle drawing will take place
on Tuesday, December 19th at 11am in Makuch
Hall.

Catholic Charities invites those who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide to participate in its Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide
Program (LOSS) on Wednesday, November 22,

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The next Religious Education class will be
held on Saturday , November 18th. The
students will attend the 8am Mass and
they should be seated in the church not
later than 7:45am. The Thanksgiving Food
Drive will take place during this Mass, and
we ask each student to bring one or more cans of food
to share with the poor. .

Liturgy of the Word…..
“The jar of flour will not go empty, nor the jug of oil
run dry.” (1Kings 17:10-16)
“The poor widow offered more than all the others.” (Mark 12:38-44)
Today, the scriptures open the door into the lives of
two poor widows. Their actions speak of hospitality,
generosity, and true stewardship. Just as the widow
gives more than all others, so we are called to give
back to the Lord from our want. This is not easy,
especially in a culture of consumerism. Let our
hearts be moved as we hear the story of these two
brave women.

The month of November is National Adoption Month in
the archdiocese of Chicago. The Adoption Guild of
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago will
host a panel discussion. Agency professionals, birth
mothers, adoptive parents, and adoptees will be on the

En aquel tiempo enseñaba Jesús a la
multitud y les decía: ¡Cuidado con los
letrados! Les encanta pasearse con amplio ropaje y que les hagan reverencias
en la plaza, buscan los asientos de
honor en las sinagogas y los primeros
puestos en los banquetes; y devoran los
bienes de las viudas con pretexto de
largos rezos. Esos recibirán una sentencia más rigurosa. Estando Jesús sentado enfrente del cepillo del templo, observaba a la gente que iba echando dinero: muchos ricos echaban en cantidad; se acercó una viuda pobre y echó
dos reales. Llamando a sus discípulos
les dijo: Os aseguro que esa pobre viuda ha echado en el cepillo más que nadie. Porque los demás han echado de lo
que les sobra, pero ésta, que pasa necesidad, ha echado todo lo que tenía
para vivir.

Pasos para una buena confesión
La Iglesia nos propone cinco pasos a seguir
para hacer una buena confesión y aprovechar así al máximo las gracias de este maravilloso sacramento. Estos pasos expresan
simplemente un camino hacia la conversión, que va desde el análisis de nuestros
actos, hasta la acción que demuestra el
cambio que se ha realizado en nosotros.
1. Examen de Conciencia. Ponernos ante
Dios que nos ama y quiere ayudarnos.
Analizar nuestra vida y abrir nuestro
corazón sin engaños. Puedes ayudarte
de una guía para hacerlo bien.
2. Arrepentimiento. Sentir un dolor verdadero de haber pecado porque hemos
lastimado al que más nos quiere: Dios.
3. Propósito de no volver a pecar. Si
verdaderamente amo, no puedo seguir
lastimando al amado. De nada sirve
confesarnos si no queremos mejorar.
Podemos caer de nuevo por debilidad,
pero lo importante es la lucha, no la
caída.
4. Decir los pecados al confesor. El Sacerdote es un instrumento de Dios.
Hagamos a un lado la “vergüenza” o el
“orgullo” y abramos nuestra alma, seguros de que es Dios quien nos escucha.
5. Recibir la absolución y cumplir la
penitencia. Es el momento más hermoso, pues recibimos el perdón de Dios.
La penitencia es un acto sencillo que
representa nuestra reparación por la
falta que cometimos.
Invitamos cordialmente
a participar en la Novena de Virgen de Guadalupe. La novena empezara el día 3 de diciembre y va a terminar
con la Fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe el día
12 de diciembre. Cada día de la novena
vamos a rezar el rosario y celebrar la Misa con el sermón. Para esta novena fue

XXXII Niedziela Zwykła
Jezus nauczając mówił do zgromadzonych:
Strzeżcie się uczonych w Piśmie. Z upodobaniem
chodzą oni w powłóczystych szatach, lubią pozdrowienia na rynku, pierwsze krzesła w synagogach i zaszczytne miejsca na ucztach. Objadają
domy wdów i dla pozoru odprawiają długie modlitwy. Ci tym surowszy dostaną wyrok. Potem
usiadł naprzeciw skarbony i przypatrywał się, jak
tłum wrzucał drobne pieniądze do skarbony. Wielu bogatych wrzucało wiele. Przyszła też jedna
uboga wdowa i wrzuciła dwa pieniążki, czyli
jeden grosz. Wtedy przywołał swoich uczniów i
rzekł do nich: Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Ta
uboga wdowa wrzuciła najwięcej ze wszystkich,
którzy kładli do skarbony. Wszyscy bowiem
wrzucali z tego, co im zbywało; ona zaś ze swego
niedostatku wrzuciła wszystko, co miała, całe
swe utrzymanie.

Wypominki
W każdą niedzielę miesiąca listopada przed Mszą Świętą o
godzinie 10.30 są czytane „wypominki” za dusze śp. zmarłych naszych krewnych, przyjaciół, dobroczyńców i znajomych.
Zapraszamy również wszystkie dzieci lubiące śpiewać na próby naszego chórku dziecięcego, które odbywają się w każdy wtorek
o godzinie 6:30 wieczorem w Sali Ks. Makucha. Próby prowadzi nasz dyrektor muzyczny doświadczony w pracy z dziećmi Pan Witold Socha. Jeszcze raz serdecznie wszystkich zapraszamy.

Warunki
dobrej spowiedzi!
Nawrócenie jest procesem
wewnętrznym mającym
swoje etapy. Pierwszym
krokiem zmierzającym ku
przemianie jest uznanie
swojej grzeszności i egoizmu. Dokonuje się to w czasie rachunku
sumienia. Jeśli mamy w sobie miłość
wzbudzoną przez łaskę, świadomość
grzechów doprowadzi nas do ubolewania
nad tym, że znieważyliśmy Boga, że
skrzywdziliśmy bliźnich. To ubolewanie
nazywamy żalem za grzechy. Cierpienie
z powodu wyrządzonych Bogu i ludziom
zniewag prowadzi do kolejnego etapu
nawrócenia, którym będzie postanowienie poprawy, czyli decyzja wkroczenia
na drogę miłości do Boga i do ludzi. Wyznanie grzechów jest uzewnętrznieniem
naszego nawrócenia się, jest przyznaniem się do swoich błędów i wyrażeniem
skruchy. Oskarżenie siebie przed Bogiem
i kapłanem w sakramencie pojednania
wyraża chęć rozpoczęcia nowego życia,
opartego na miłości do Boga i braci. I
wreszcie zadośćuczynienie stanowi kolejny etap nawrócenia: kto kocha, ten nie
przejdzie obojętnie obok wyrządzonych
przez siebie krzywd, ten zacznie wszystko naprawiać i wynagradzać innym spowodowane zło.
W sakramencie pokuty spotykamy się z
miłosiernym Bogiem. Dzieło pojednania
jest owocem działania trzech osób Trójcy
Świętej: Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego. W
skruszonym i żałującym grzeszniku dokonuje się, pod wpływem łaski Bożej, głęboka przemiana i nadprzyrodzone odrodzenie. Pogrążony w śmierci grzechowej
człowiek odzyskuje dar życia Bożego,
nazywany usprawiedliwieniem lub łaską
uświęcającą. To przekształcenie nie dokonuje się jednak bez świadomego i dobrowolnego współdziałania człowieka
polegającego na ciągłym nawracaniu się.
Istotą tego nawrócenia - możliwego do
zrealizowania dzięki ciągłemu uprzedzającemu i towarzyszącemu działaniu łaski
Bożej - jest przejście z grzechu, egoizmu,

Przypominamy, że w każdą trzecią niedzielę miesiąca w naszej parafii po
Mszy św. o godz. 10.30
odbywa się kurs przygotowujący rodziców i
chrzestnych do chrztu
dziecka.
Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić dziecko w naszej
parafii są proszone o zgłoszenie się na ten kurs
prze chrztem dziecka. Dlatego należy pamiętać,
aby:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej półtora miesiąca prze chrztem. (Aby
uczestniczyć w kursie przygotowującym)
► Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia dziecka.

również i dzisiaj wychodząc z
kościoła można nabyć nowy
numer Tygodnika Katolickiego „Niedziela”. Znajdziemy
tam bardzo ciekawe artykuły
na temat życia kościoła w
Polsce także naszej Archidiecezji. Czytając ten tygodnik a
także inne publikacje np. „Różaniec”, „Anioł
stróż”, „Rodzina Radia Maryja” pogłębiamy
naszą wiarę oraz miłość do Boga i Kościoła.

„Katolik” wydawana przez naszą Archidiecezję
