Drodzy Nauczyciele,
od 2009 roku gimnazjaliÊci przyst´pujà do obowiàzkowego egzaminu z j´zyka obcego.
Centralna Komisja Egzaminacyjna opracowa∏a standardy nowego egzaminu, bioràc pod uwag´ obowiàzujàcà podstaw´
programowà, programy nauczania oraz podr´czniki dopuszczone do u˝ytku szkolnego przez Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej.
Proponujemy Paƒstwu rozpocz´cie przygotowania uczniów do egzaminu ju˝ od klasy pierwszej z podr´cznikiem English
in Mind Wydanie egzaminacyjne.
Co gwarantuje najlepsze przygotowanie do egzaminu gimnazjalnego?
Najskuteczniejszà z metod wydaje si´ po∏àczenie regularnego kursu j´zykowego z jednoczesnym przygotowaniem
do egzaminu.
Podà˝ajàc za tà ideà, zmodyfikowaliÊmy nasz popularny kurs English in Mind, by jeszcze lepiej
przygotowa∏ uczniów do wyzwania, jakim jest egzamin koƒcowy z j´zyka angielskiego.
Nowe, egzaminacyjne wydanie English in Mind
Podr´cznik English in Mind Wydanie egzaminacyjne zosta∏ poszerzony o rozdzia∏y Exam sections oraz dodatkowe
materiały kulturowe w rozdzia∏ach Culture, wprowadzajàce elementy wiedzy o polskiej i europejskiej kulturze. Rozdzia∏y
te sà powtórzeniem i rozszerzeniem ka˝dego z czterech modu∏ów. Materia∏ przygotowa∏y polskie autorki (nauczycielki
i egzaminatorki) tak, by spe∏nia∏ wymogi nowej podstawy programowej. Nowe wydanie English in Mind pozwala
Poziom kursu English in Mind 1 Wydanie egzaminacyjne a poziom egzaminu gimnazjalnego
W III etapie nauki j´zyka obcego uczniowie powinni osiàgnàç umiej´tnoÊci j´zykowe na poziomie A2, w skali poziomów
bieg∏oÊci zdefiniowanej przez Rad´ Europy (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: learning,
teaching, assessment).
i wykraczajàce nieco poza ten poziom. Podr´cznik English in Mind Wydanie egzaminacyjne spe∏nia to kryterium
i doprowadza uczniów do solidnego poziomu A2/B1, przy jednoczesnym çwiczeniu technik egzaminacyjnych.
Ksià˝ka ucznia z płytà CD-ROM
Kolejnà nowoÊcià w wydaniu egzaminacyjnym English in Mind jest p∏yta CD-ROM towarzyszàca ksià˝ce ucznia. Na p∏ycie
znajdujà si´:
1 Gimnazjum Exam information / Exam on … exam answers Gimnazjum Exam information to podstawowe informacje
dla ucznia na temat egzaminu, w formie listu z radami jak przygotowaç si´ do egzaminu, by go dobrze zdaç oraz ze
strategiami egzaminacyjnymi. W tym samym pliku uczniowie znajdà równie˝ odpowiedzi do cz´Êci Exam on ... exam
wyst´pujàcej w ksià˝ce ucznia, w Exam sections.
2 Egzaminy próbne, na poziomie j´zykowym danej cz´Êci English in Mind Wydanie egzaminacyjne. Klucz do obu
egzaminów oraz skrypty nagraƒ do zadaƒ egzaminacyjnych znajdujà si´ na stronie obok.
3 Skrypty nagraƒ z rozdzia∏ów Exam sections w ksià˝ce ucznia.
4 Materia∏y audio:
– nagrania do zadaƒ na s∏uchanie z egzaminów próbnych,
– nagrania do rozdzia∏ów Exam sections.
Życzymy powodzenia w pracy z gimnazjalistami!

ZADANIE 1
1 It’s a non-renewable source of
energy. It’s a kind of liquid. It is
found deep in the ground or under
the sea. It is used to produce petrol
for cars.
2 The source of this energy is
renewable. But it can only work in
windy places. Tall turbines are
placed on the ground and when
they move, they produce power.
3 This source of energy is more
ecological than other more
traditional ones but it can be very
dangerous. If it explodes, the
radiation may kill thousands of
people and animals and pollute the
earth for a long time.
4 This source of energy is becoming
more and more popular. It uses the
sun to produce power. Special
batteries are installed on the
ground or on roofs of buildings.
5 People have burnt this for energy
for hundreds of years. It is found
beneath the ground in places called
mines. Unfortunately, burning this
produces a lot of CO2 and this kind
of fuel will disappear soon.
ZADANIE 2
Andrew: So, what are we going to
do tonight? We can’t go out – it’s
too cold.
Patricia: Look, I’ve got a nice
collection of DVDs. Let me see..oh
yes, this one – I wanted to show
you my favourite film ‘Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’.
A: Eternal …WHAT? What is this?
P: It’s a film about love and it stars
Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.
A: Jim Carrey? I hate him! He always
makes funny faces… He’s just silly.
And I hate romantic comedies!
P: Hold on! It’s not a romantic
comedy. It’s more like a drama. It
has a complicated storyline. You’ll
like it. And Jim Carrey plays a really
serious bloke, you’ll see. No fooling
around. This is quite sad… and Kate
Winslet is wonderful.
A: I like watching Kate Winslet
though… All right. If you say so.
I hope the film is as good as you say.
ZADANIE 3
Mark: I would like to stay out late
at weekends but I can’t. My parents
say I will be allowed to stay out till
midnight when I’m 16. Now I’m 14
and I have to be at home at 9 p.m.
Every day.
Sylvia: Do you think 11 p.m. is late?
If so, then yes, I can. But most of
my friends have to be at home at 8
so I’m lucky. But when I am out and
it’s late I always take a taxi home.
ZADANIE 4
