Drodzy Przyjaciele,
Witam was serdecznie w Rezydencji Ambasadora Wielkiego Księstwa Luksemburg.
Dziękuję, że przybyliście tutaj aby obchodzić luksemburski Dzień Narodowy.
-An Embassy cocktail in celebration of Luxembourg’s National Day can nowadays - in times
of crisis and budgetary austerity - only be organized with the support of partners from the
private sector.

-The exhibition « Warsaw-heART-Luxembourg » - which we host today for a hanging – is also
part of our « Luxembourg month ».
I congratulate the two artists Yola Zuchniewicz and Eva Flammang-Deda.
As of tomorrow, « Warsaw-heART-Luxembourg » will be shown in Dreszer Park.
-Wystawa « Warsaw-heART-Luxembourg» - którą dziś gościmy jest również częścią naszego
luksemburskiego miesiąca.
Gratuluję dwóm artystkom - Yoli Zuchniewicz i Evie Flammang-Deda. Od jutra wystawę«
Warsaw-heART-Luxembourg » można zobaczyć w Parku Dreszera.
-Dear friends,
For some time, there has been a new, highly positive dynamics in the relations between
Luxembourg and Poland. Bilateral meetings at the highest political levels are becoming much
more frequent. An important Luxembourg parliamentary delegation is expected in Poland
before the summer.
Luxembourg remains amongst the biggest foreign investors in Poland.
At the same time, Poland is nowadays Luxembourg’s eight biggest commercial partner.
As shown in Luxembourg last week during our Greater Region Business Days, there is a new
interest for each other also at the level of small and medium-sized businesses.
Recently we opened the first Luxembourg Honorary Consulates in Krakow and Wroclaw.
-Drodzy Przyjaciele,
Od pewnego czasu, pojawiła się nowa dynamika w stosunkach między Luksemburgiem i
Polską.
Bilateralne stosunki na najwyższych szczeblach politycznych stają się coraz intensywniejsze.
Przed wakacjami oczekujemy przyjazdu luksemburskiej delegacja parlamentarna.
Luksemburg pozostaje jednym z największych inwestorów zagranicznych w Polsce.
Jednocześnie, Polska jest dziś ósmym największym partnerem handlowym Luksemburga.
W ubiegłym tygodniu podczas targów Greater Region Business, pojawiło się wzajemne
zainteresowanie na poziomie małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw.
Niedawno otworzylimy pierwsze Konsulaty Honorowe Luksemburga w Krakowie i we
Wrocławiu.
-Dear friends,
I am very proud to have been able to represent my country in Poland in such a favorable
constellation.
This year will unfortunately be the last time that I will be able to host the Luxembourg
National Day reception in Warsaw.

My family and I will return to Luxembourg at the end of the summer. As of September, I will be
Director-General at the Luxembourg Ministry of Defense.
-Drodzy Przyjaciele,
Jestem dumny, że mogłem reprezentować mój kraj w Polsce przy tak korzystnej konstelacji.
Niestety w tym roku już ostatni raz jestem gospodarzem Święta Narodowego Luksemburga w
Warszawie.
Moja rodzina i ja wracamy do Luksemburga pod koniec lata. Od września będę Dyrektorem w
Ministerstwie Obrony w Luksemburgu.
-When I came to Poland three years ago, my mission was to develop the huge unused
potential in our bilateral relations and to show what is possible when Luxembourgers and
Poles cooperate.
I very much hope that I have been successful in this mission in as far as I was able to give
new impulses to our bilateral cooperation in fields as diverse as finances, logistics, electronic
media, space, science and culture.
-Kiedy przyjechałem do Polski trzy lata temu, miałem za cel rozwinąć nasz ogromny
niewykorzystany potencjał w stosunkach bilateralnych i pokazać do jest możliwe, gdy
Luksemburczycy i Polacy współpracują.
Mam wielką nadzieję, że udało mi się stworzyć nowe impulsy w naszej współpracy w
dziedzinach tak różnych, jak finanse, logistyka, media elektroniczne, przestrzeń, nauka i
kultura.
-Our exhibition dedicated to the impact of Radio Luxembourg in communist Poland is
certainly a good case for illustrating this approach of economic diplomacy trying to bridge
the gap between culture and commerce.
In Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw, this exhibition has had almost 10.000 visitors in total.
In this context, let me also warmly thank the members of my small team here at the Embassy
for their hard and excellent work, their commitment and their creativity.
-Nasza wystawa poświęcona wpływowi Radia Luxembourg w PRL jest na pewno dobrym
przykładem takiego podejścia w dyplomacji gospodarczej, która wypełnia lukę między kulturą
i handlem. W Warszawie, Krakowie i we Wrocławiu odwiedziło ją w sumie dziesięć tysięcy
osób.
Skorzystam z tej okazji aby podziękować członkom mojego małego zespołu za ich ciężką i
doskonałą pracę, za ich zaangażowanie i kreatywność.
-After three years spent in the Polish capital, my family and I have become – if not Polish –
than at least more than a little Warsawian.
Our youngest child, Clarissa, was born in a Warsaw maternity two years ago. This creates
strong links between my family and Poland as well as its capital.
During our stay in Poland, we made a lot of friends, friendships which will last for a lifetime.

Po trzech latach spędzonych w stolicy Polski, moja rodzina i ja staliśmy się - jeśli nie
Polakami – to co najmniej niż Warszawiakami.
Nasze najmłodsze dziecko, Clarissa, urodziła się dwa lata temu w Warszawie. To tworzy silne
więzi pomiędzy moją rodziną i Polską jak i stolicą.
Podczas naszego pobytu w Polsce, zdobiliśmy wielu przyjaciół, zawarliśmy przyjaźnie, które
będą trwać przez całe życie.
-After almost 14 years spent abroad as a Luxembourg diplomat, I must admit that I have
become homesick.
At the same time, I am also very much looking forward to the new professional challenges
which are waiting for me in Luxembourg.
-Po prawie czternastu latach spędzonych za granicą jako luksemburski dyplomata, muszę
przyznać, że tęsknię za domem.
Cieszę się z nowych wyzwań zawodowych, które czekają na mnie w Luksemburgu.
-Dear distinguished guests,
Let me thank you for your friendship towards Luxembourg as well as towards my family and
myself.
I wish you an excellent time here with us at the Embassy of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
