Ewan McGregor was having a meal with his best friend Charley Boorman when they decided to ride round the world on their motorbikes. Ewan McGregor is one of Britain’s most famous actors and Boorman is the son of the film director, John Boorman, but they are also mad about motorbikes. Long Way Round is the film documentary of their adventure. They left London on 14 April, 2004 and rode east across nine countries, including France, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia. In Europe, they saw mountains and forests, green valleys and lakes. While travelling in Siberia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia they rode across some of the most isolated and beautiful landscapes in the world, including the Gobi Desert. Ewan and Charley were faster on their bikes and the crew always arrived at their destinations a day or two later. From Siberia, they flew to Alaska, then rode their bikes through Canada and the USA. They had many accidents on the trip but the worst one happened in the USA, when Ewan was hit by another bike.They finally arrived in New York on 29 July, 2004. 5 Ewan and Charley often arrived at the next destination earlier than the crew. 6 The worst accident happened as they arrived in New York. !
