This boutique hotel is located in Midtown Manhattan and has 122 rooms and suites. Many of New
York's best attractions are located less than one mile away such as Central Park, the Empire State
Building, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square. The hotel features a wine bar, lounge, and café,
and has about 50 employees. The hotel is looking for participants who will train in both
departments.

Position Description:
[Lounge Attendant] The responsibilities for a breakfast/lounge attendant include conducting
oneself in a professional and courteous manner. Attendants effectively communicate with the front
office, managers and guests. They serve food and beverages, oversee guest arrangements and
changes, clear tables, clean guest areas and assist guests with reservations for restaurants, airlines,
etc. Attendants maintain an accurate log of activities, manage issues regarding a guest's stay,
manage work orders and refer issues to management when required. An attendant's job involves
mingling with hotel guests and is responsible for assisting in breakfast setup/cleanup and serving
breakfast to private parties and group reservations.
[Front Desk] Welcomes and registers hotel guests, explaining the accommodations and establishing
credit or method of payment. Checks guest out of the hotel, preparing and explaining the bill.
Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests
and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction
while complying with all hotel's policies.
Position Requirements:
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English at an advanced level.
Candidates must be able to be standing and walking for long hours, to carry relatively heavy items
and be in constant contact with people.
Candidates must be professional and a team player.
Candidates must be available to work holidays and weekends and overtime hours occasionally.
Some experience preferred.
In addition, candidates must meet all the J-1 Internship/Training Program requirements to
participate in the Program in the hospitality field.
