centre. Together with neighbouring Kazimierz Dolny, Janowiec and Nałęczow, Puławy is considered to be
the most interesting touristic attraction in the Lublin region.

Travel information
By plane
The nearest international airport is Fryderyk Chopin Airport ( Okęcie) in Warsaw. For further
journey from Warsaw to Puławy one have to use a train (see below the information “By train”) or
may use the bus No. 175 to Warsaw Central station (Warszawa Centralna) (buy ticket in the kiosk
at the arrival hall – 4.40 PLN (20 min -3.40 PLN)).
The bus stop is located just in front of the arrival terminal and the bus stops in the front of
Warszawa Centralna station (Aleje Jerozolimskie 54) next to The Marriot Hotel, on the opposite
site of the street. It is also possible to use the local train ( http://www.ztm.waw.pl/?c=574&l=2 )
included in Internal Warsaw communication system – then we advise you to travel to Warsaw East
station (Warszawa Wschodnia), which is the next station after Warszawa Centralna on the way to
Puławy.
By taxi
One can also take a taxi. We recommend to use one of the licensed taxi companies (e.g. MPT) in
order to avoid being overcharged. The taxi from the airport to the Warsaw Central train station
should not be more than 50 PLN. Please, do not accept the taxi service being offered by the
private persons in the arrival hall or in front of it. Also please have some Polish currency in order
to pay for a taxi, as they usually do not accept credit cards. The bank services and the money
exchange are available at the airport.
There is another local airport located in Świdnik near Lublin (Port Lotniczy Lublin) , however, it has
very limited number of connections ( www.portlotniczy.lublin.pl ). The transport from Lublin to
Puławy (40 kms) is by train (see below) or by local buses.
By train
There are good rail links between Warsaw and Puławy (station: Puławy Miasto, direction Lublin).
Trains depart from Warsaw almost regularly (every 2 hours) and journey from Warsaw (Warszawa
Centralna station) takes about 1,5 hour (see railway timetable at http://rozklad-
pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143 or other internet services). We recommend buying 1st class ticket – cost
about 60 PLN (the 2nd class ticket is about 40 PLN). In most of the trains the seat reservation
(“miejscówka”) is necessary. In Puławy there are taxis available in the front of the station.
By car
Directions and maps showing the way to Puławy can be found at http://maps.google.com. Free
parking place in the hotel is available.
