Preparation of Control Material for Platinum
Determination in Plant Samples

In this work a preparation procedure of control material for determination of platinum in
plant matrix has been described. For quantitative determination of Pt and other elements:
Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, and Mn, three independent analytical methods have been applied. To
obtain plant material of higher content of platinum than is usually present in uncontaminated samples, two plant species: Indian mustard and Anawa maize were hydroponically
cultivated under controlled conditions in a nutrient solution with addition of [Pt(NH3)4]
(NO3)2.
W pracy przedstawiono szczegó³owo sposób przygotowania roœlinnego materia³u kontrolnego maj¹cego s³u¿yæ do sprawdzania wiarygodnoœci wyników i procedur oznaczania
platyny. Do oznaczania Pt i innych wybranych pierwiastków: Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu i Mn zastosowano trzy niezale¿ne metody analityczne. W celu uzyskania materia³u roœlinnego o podwy¿szonej w stosunku do próbek nie zanieczyszczonych zawartoœci Pt pozyskano dwa
gatunki roœlin – gorczycê i kukurydzê. Roœliny te uprawiano hydroponicznie w kontrolowanych warunkach na po¿ywce wzbogaconej w sól platyny: [Pt(NH3)4](NO3)2.
