THE AIM AND THE SUBJECT MATTER OF
CONFERENCECE
The aim of conference is to create a forum in order to develop an
exchange of experiences and provoke a discussion on the topics
related to building of tunnels and underground infrastructure in the
cities. The issues such as geotechnical tests and town planning could
also be brought up in this forum. The discussion on various problems
related to underground infrastructure such as tunnels (traffic and
railway tunnels, and underground), water and sewage ducts, garages,
and subways is anticipated. It is hoped that the possibilities of using
an underground space associated with town planning and
modernization of cities will be analysed as well. An important
motivation for the conference is starting the construction of the tunnel
on the road to Zakopane and the preparation for the construction of
the tunnel in Świnoujście. The organizers wish to involve a wide
body of people from different sectors. Scientists, investors, designers,
contractors, and students have different point of view and thus
possibly varying opinions. It is hoped that the analysis and the
comparison of these different views will allow drawing a fruitful
conclusions. The subject matter of conference is very crucial and upto-date due to a current need for adjusting underground infrastructures
to nowadays standards and requirements. The impact of these
structures on the environment and the principles of sustainable
development have to be considered nowadays.
THE EXHIBITION
It is anticipated that an exhibition will take place during the
conference. The contractor, design, and trade companies will have a
possibility to introduce their offers to conference participants and
students at the college. The Technical University of Wrocław is one
of the biggest and best colleges in Poland educating over 33
thousands students.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The cost of participation amounts to 1200 PLN and covers a copy of
conference proceedings, board, and associated events. The organizers
do not provide any accommodation. In case of fee payment before 15
June 2017, the price is reduced to 1000 PLN. The registration can
be done through the conference website. We kindly ask you for
declaring your participation in the conference and making the
transfer on the same day separately for each participant.
THE TIME AND THE VENUE OF CONFERENCE
The conference will take place in the Main Building of Technical
University of Wrocław, denoted A-1 (Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego 27) on
25 – 26 October 2017 (Wednesday -Thursday).
THE PAPERS
Authors of the papers are requested to submit abstracts (about 300
words) in English via e-mail conference website
(www.uiua.pwr.edu.pl) until 15 February 2017. The authors of
the papers classified for publication in conference proceedings
will receive precise information about their required form until
31 March 2017. Submitting of preliminarily classified papers
until 15 June 2017. The papers presented in the conference
sessions will be selected from the papers classified for
publication. They have to be delivered in Polish or English. The
simultaneous interpreting of presentations into Polish and English
is anticipated. Conference proceedings will be published by
international A. A. Balkema Publishers (Holland).
OTHER PRESENTATION OPPORTUNITIES
1. Commercial speech – the special session as an opportunity for
the companies to present their offers is anticipated. The cost of
such speech lasting up to 20 minutes (including discussion)
amounts to 4000 PLN(+VAT) without participation in conference
2. Advertisement included in conference proceedings – the fee for
one page amounts to 4000 PLN (+VAT). The technical conditions
associated with such advertisement (in English) will be passed to
interested companies.
3. Participation in conference exhibition – cost 6000 PLN
(+VAT) cover participation of two persons in the conference.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The possibility to sponsor the conference is anticipated. The list
of sponsors (including logo) will be included in the conference
proceedings. The sponsorship conditions should be discussed with
the conference organizers. The list of sponsors is open.
