CIRCULAR I
The Centre for Conrad Studies, English Department, Maria CurieSkłodowska University, Lublin, Poland, will have the honour and
pleasure of hosting its Fifth International Joseph Conrad Conference
between July 12 and 16, 2011. Conradians and their partners are
heartily invited to attend.
The scholarly proceedings (in English) will consist of papers on
various aspects of Joseph Conrad's life and works, and related themes,
including Conrad’s Polish and East-Central European contexts. Select
papers from the conference will appear in two volumes of the series
Conrad: Eastern and Western Perspectives, published by East
pEuropean Monographs Boulder and Maria Curie-Skłodowska
University Lublin, and distributed by Columbia University Press New
York.
From 16 July to 22 July following the conference, we plan a study
tour of Conrad's Polish footprints, taking in Lublin and its region,
Zakopane, Cracow and Warsaw.
Please send a declaration of your intended participation in the
conference (either with or without a contributed paper) to the
conference e-mail or postal address. If you know any academics who
might have an interest in our conference, please encourage them to
respond.

Zakład Studiów Conradoznawczych Instytutu Anglistyki
Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie ma zaszczyt i
przyjemność zorganizowania piątej międzynarodowej konferencji
conradowskiej w dniach 12-16 lipca 2011r. Zapraszamy do udziału
wszystkich badaczy i miłośników twórczości Conrada.
Na konferencji przedstawione zostaną referaty (w języku
angielskim) dotyczące rozmaitych aspektów życia i twórczości
Josepha Conrada i spraw z nimi związanych (konteksty polskie i
środkowo-wschodnioeuropejskie Conrada należeć będą do głównych
tematów konferencji). Wybrane referaty zostaną opublikowane w dwu
tomach serii Conrad: Eastern and Western Perspectives, wydawanej
przez East European Monographs w Boulder oraz Uniwersytet Marii
Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie, w dystrybucji Columbia University
Press w Nowym Jorku.
Po konferencji (w dniach 16-22 lipca 2011r.) odbędzie się wyjazd
studyjny "Polskie ślady Conrada", obejmujący Lublin i
Lubelszczyznę, Zakopane, Kraków i Warszawę.
Proszę przysłać deklarację uczestnictwa (z referatem lub bez
referatu) na adres e-mailowy lub pocztowy konferencji. Jeżeli znają
Państwo osoby zainteresowane uczestnictwem w naszej konferencji,
proszę o zachęcenie ich do skontaktowania się.
