Stewardship Note: “He said to them, ‘The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few. . . .’” As Catholics we are all
called to serve in ministry. However, many of us are unsure
how to use our talents and gifts to build God’s Church. Talk to
God and ask Him what He wants you to do. The next time one

PEACE
The greeting of peace at Mass adds substance to a message of today’s readings: peace
is relational. When we greet in peace the person
near us at Mass, we share the touch of a handshake or embrace, sincere eye contact, and
friendly words.
The scriptures speak of a similar peace. The first reading
from Isaiah describes the peace of the holy city, Jerusalem, a
place of prosperity and comfort where the “LORD’s power shall
be known to his servants”.
The Christian understanding of peace changes slightly. Paul
writes of the “peace and mercy” on all who are created anew.
Jesus describes a feeling of peace that will rest on those who
accept his disciples and their message.
Peace is both an absence of strife and a personal blessing.
May we always and sincerely bring peace to our own lives as
we share it with others.

INDEPENDENCE DAY– FEDERAL HOLIDAY
On Monday, July 4th we commemorate the adoption of the
Declaration of Independence and declaring freedom from the
Kingdom of Great Britain.
This day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades,
barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games,
family reunions and political speeches. The major question is
about our freedom—freedom for what and freedom to do what?
In our liberal society when we have a crisis of values, loss of
authority, especially parental the meaning of freedom takes
on a different dimension. Let us pray that we will never lose
our freedom and enjoy peace and security in our country. May
you have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Chaplet to the Divine Mercy - Sunday, July 3rd, is the first
Sunday of the month and we will pray the Chaplet to the Divine
Mercy at 3:00pm followed by Benediction. We encourage you
to take a little time and come in prayer of thanksgiving, in petition for needed graces to obtain an understanding and love for
God.
JUBILEE OF MERCY
Last Sunday, Jesus rebuked James and John for wanting to
“call down fire from heaven” on an unwelcoming town. As he
sends forth disciples today, Jesus again forbids retaliation
against non-receptive listeners, showing us how to be Jesus’
“missionaries of mercy” this Jubilee Year of Mercy. Like the
first disciples, we are sent not to proclaim ourselves but Jesus.
As Jesus sent them in pairs, so are we also sent to work in the
community of the Church. We often describe the Church as
Isaiah describes Jerusalem in today’s first reading, our comforting, nurturing Mother. So, going forth gently, like lambs
among wolves, we share comforting peace, nurturing food and
drink (Luke’s image for Eucharist), and Jesus’ healing promise
of unfailing, unconditional mercy. Thus Jesus bids us proclaim
the kingdom of God by showing what God’s kingdom looks
like in action. “Go, preach the Gospel,” Pope Francis’ saintly
namesake of Assisi is said to have instructed his first friars,
“and when necessary, use words!”
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Our obligation to perform corporal acts of mercy is part of
our Christian faith. The Partners in Charity Appeal provides
help to all those who need assistance. It makes us feel good
when we respond to the needs of others.
If you did not give as yet, we kindly ask you to do so as soon
as possible. You may use the pledge forms placed in the pews.
Every dollar given through your kindness adds to the total to
maximize our outreach to the less fortunate.
ST. ANNE SOCIETY - is beginning their Annual Membership Drive. The membership of this society pledges to serve
God and to participate in the mission of the Church by taking
an active part in the spiritual and social functions at St. Joseph
Basilica.
This Society enrolls the newly baptized children into the care
of St. Anne. Pictures of the baptized children are placed in a
special book with pertinent information and placed at the altar
of Our Blessed Mother. You are invited to look through the
book to make certain your child’s information is correct. Mothers and grandmothers may consider becoming members.

NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
We invite parishioners and friends to join us on Wednesday,
July 7th at 7:00pm for our weekly novena and devotion to St.
Joseph. Members of the Knights of Columbus will join us and
assist in bringing the statue of our Patron to the Sanctuary.
Summertime is an ideal time to pause and reflect on how we
may, through the intercession of our Patron ask and hopefully
receive needed blessings for ourselves and our families.

We are experiencing a significant increase in enrollment—
some grades are nearly filled. Therefore, if you are contemplating registering your child for a Catholic Education at St. Joseph

YOUTH GROUP
Thank you to all who made Camp Catholic a great success for
the third year in a row. It was wonderful to see children and
adults of all ages come together to worship in a fun, supportive
environment. Have a wonderful rest of the summer!
Next event: Bread of Life on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4:45pm at
the United Church of Christ. We will help to serve a meal for
those less fortunate.
Help - volunteers are needed to transport cans left at Sacred
Heart Church to Marty’s in Dudley for redemption. This task

We are fortunate to have a group of dedicated parishioners
who offer their help through the Prayer Line. If you, a family
member or a friend is in need of prayer, please call Theresa

Your intentions will be prayed on a daily basis and also included in the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy on the First Friday of

Year of Mercy Pilgrimage-Bishop McManus will lead a
pilgrimage to Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge, MA on
Aug. 19th. Bus leaves Immaculate Conception Church,
Worcester at 8:15am and returns 6:30pm. Mass in the Shrine,
Chaplet of Divine Mercy and confessions will be available.

CZTERNASTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

“Co do mnie, nie daj Boże, bym się miał chlubić z czego innego,
jak tylko z krzyża Pana naszego Jezusa Chrystusa.” (Gal 6, 14)
Chrześcijanin, wzorem Apostołów, jest
powołany do głoszenia Dobrej Nowiny. Każdy
może to robić w najprostszy z możliwych
sposobów – świadectwem własnego życia.
I chociaż może nas spotkać w związku z tym
uznanie i podziw, to jednak częściej napotkamy
trudności, brak zrozumienia i odrzucenie. I tak jak uznanie ze
strony ludzi nie może być naszym celem, podobnie odrzucenie
z ich strony nie może być dla nas powodem zniechęcenia. Jezus
wskazuje na ostateczny cel naszych działań: „Cieszcie się, że
wasze imiona zapisane są w niebie”. Możemy zostać odrzuceni,
wykpieni i opuszczeni przez ludzi, ale nigdy przez Chrystusa.

Jak w każdą pierwsza niedzielę miesiąca, zapraszamy na
Nabożeństwo do Miłosierdzia Bożego o godz. 15:00.
Zachęcamy i zapraszamy do oddania Bogu chwały
i dziękczynienia za Jego nieskończone Miłosierdzie
i jednocześnie skorzystania z okazji do powierzenia się
Boskiej opatrzności i wybłagania potrzebnych łask.
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona na pokrycie
wyższych kosztów utrzymania i energii.

DZIEŃ NIEPODLEGŁOŚCI
W najbliższy poniedziałek w całym kraju będziemy świętowali
ogłoszenie Deklaracji Niepodległości, która oznaczała dla Stanów
Zjednoczonych niezależność i wolność od wpływów Wielkiej
Brytanii.
Przy okazji tego święta warto zastanowić się nad wolnością
samą w sobie. Wolnością do działania i wolnością od czegoś. We
współczesnym, liberalnym społeczeństwie, które przeżywa kryzys
wartości, zmaga się z brakiem autorytetów, szczególnie autorytetu
rodziców i rodziny słowo „wolność” nabrało odmiennego
znaczenia, które niekoniecznie jest prawdziwe. Módlmy się zatem,
aby wolność zawsze była dla nas czynnikiem prowadzącym do
dobra i piękna. Prośmy Boga byśmy nigdy nie utracili naszej
wolności i zawsze mogli cieszyć się życiem w wolnym
i bezpiecznym kraju.
Życzymy wszystkim przyjemnego święta.

JUBILEUSZ MIŁOSIERDZIA
W ubiegłą niedzielę Jezus zganił Jakuba i Jana za chęć
"sprowadzić ognia z nieba" na miasto, które ich nie przyjęło.
Kiedy dzisiaj Jezus posyła uczniów znowu zakazuje odwetu
wobec słuchaczy, którzy ich nie akceptują, pokazując nam, jak
być Jezusowymi "misjonarzami miłosierdzia" w obecnym
Jubileuszowym Roku Miłosierdzia. Podobnie, jak pierwsi
uczniowie, nie jesteśmy posłani, aby nie głosić siebie, ale Jezusa.
Tak jak Jezus wysłał ich po dwóch, tak i my jesteśmy również
wysłany do pracy we wspólnocie Kościoła. Często opisuje się
Kościół w sposób w jaki Izajasz opisuje Jerozolimę w dzisiejszym
pierwszym czytaniu, jako naszą pocieszającą, opiekuńczą matkę.
Tak więc wyruszając na drogi wiary jesteśmy, jak owce między
wilkami, i dlatego musimy dzielić się pocieszeniem, i karmić się
Eucharystią. Tak więc Jezus wysyła nas na głoszenie Królestwa
Bożego, pokazując, jak Królestwo Boże wygląda w działaniu:
"Idźcie i głoście Ewangelię".

Zobowiązanie do wypełniania Uczynków Miłosierdzia
Względem Ciała (1. Głodnych nakarmić, 2. Spragnionych napoić,
3. Nagich przyodziać, 4. Podróżnych w dom przyjąć, 5. Więźniów
pocieszać, 6. Chorych nawiedzać, 7. Umarłych pogrzebać) jest
nieodzowną częścią naszej Chrześcijańskiej Wiary. Partners in
Charity jest jednym ze sposobów wprowadzania ich w życie
poprzez pomoc tym, którzy potrzebują wsparcia. Pomaganie
innym samo w sobie również sprawia ogromną satysfakcję.
Tych, którzy jeszcze nie złożyli swojej ofiary zachęcamy do
uczynienia tego tak szybko jak to tylko możliwe. Każdy życzliwie
ofiarowany dolar pozwala lepiej dotrzeć do najbardziej
potrzebujących.
SAINT ANNE SOCIETY
St. Anne Society rozpoczyna przyjmowanie nowych członków.
Członkowie tego społeczeństwa deklarują się służyć Bogu i brać
udział w misji Kościoła, a także angażować się duszpasterskich
dziełach parafii Bazyliki św. Józefa. Towarzystwo to oddaje pod
opiekę św. Anny nowo ochrzczone dzieci. Zdjęcia ochrzczonych
dzieci są umieszczane w specjalnej książce, która znajduje się
przy ołtarzu Matki Bożej. Jeśli chcesz stać się członkiem St.

BINGO
Zapraszamy na nasze cotygodniowe rozgrywki Bingo w piątek,
8 lipca. Gości przyjmujemy już od 17:00 a rozgrywki zaczynamy
o 18:45. W tym tygodniu w przygotowaniu i przebiegu spotkania
pomagać będą członkinie St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club.
PARISH PRAYER LINE
Mamy wielkie szczęście posiadać w naszej parafii osoby, które
zobowiązały się wspierać swoją modlitwą tych, którzy są
w potrzebie. Jeśli potrzebujesz wsparcia modlitewnego, albo chcesz
takiej pomocy udzielić członowi rodziny lub przyjacielowi, zadzwoń
do Theresa Jankowski: 508 943 5355 lub też złóż zapisaną intencje
modlitewną w specjalnym pudełku znajdującym się u stup krzyża
przy wejściu do kościoła. Członkowie Sarcet Heart Society modlą
się w tych intencjach każdego dnia jak również w czasie Koronki do
Miłosierdzia Bożego odmawianej na zakończenie adoracji
Najświętszego Sakramentu w pierwsze piątki miesiąca.
WYPRZEDAŻ
Festiwal dobiegł końca. Jednak w kuchni pozostało jeszcze wiele
pyszności, które można będzie nabyć w sobotę po Mszy św. o godz.
16:00 oraz w niedzielę po Mszach św. o godz. 8:15 i 9:30 w szkolnej
kafeterii.

Rozpoczęliśmy już zapisy na następny rok szkolny w Szkole św.
Józefa. Godziny otwarcia sekretariatu szkolnego w okresie
