The preparation of tracer experiments, it means: the mass of tracer to be injected, the sampling campaigns and the required conditions for experiments under natural flow and radial-convergent flow conditions, will be discussed. The examples of tracer applications and tracer concentration curves obtained in homogeneous porous, heterogeneous layered-porous, fissured and karst aquifers will be demonstrated. The mathematical description of the tracer transport for different groundwater systems will be shown. The method of parameter estimations will be demonstrated. Different approximations of parameter estimation, such a method of moments, methods of the cumulative curve and the model calibration will be presented. Practical classes The description of software FIELD and DIFFER will be demonstrated. The estimation of parameters in different type of aquifers (porous and karst) will be found on PC-s for selected test sites applying software FIELD and DIFFER. Method of calculating the final grade ocena końcowa jest równa ocenie z zaliczenia przedmiotu Prerequisites and additional requirements Prerequisites and additional requirements not specified 3/4 Module card - Znaczniki sztuczne w hydrologii i hydrogeologii Recommended literature and teaching resources Leibundgut, C., Maloszewski, P. and Külls, C.: Tracers in Hydrology.
