We either pay attention to or ignore "clock time" as we
play in the summer sun and note the earth's tilt and the
lengthening of days. We live by time. We reckon time in
seconds and minutes and hours, or we use bigger chunks
like suppertime and summertime.
God keeps another sort of time. God speaks to us of
"saving time," that is, the time of salvation. This sense of
time is called kairos, and this time is always now, always
present and available, always revealing, often surprising.
This Sunday's readings alert us to the reality and import
of God's time. Ezekiel and the Gospel of Mark remind us
that our labor and our plotting and our planning rest in
God. For God takes our smallest efforts and makes them
great works. Paul points us to the "harvest" time, urges
us to be watchful for its coming, and calls us to
recognize that we must spend our time in pleasing God.

GOD'S SAVING TIME
We are a people who schedule, plot, and plan. Even in
the summertime, we live in a world of adjusted clocks
and tight schedules. Even in the summertime, we are
obsessed with time, striving to own it, stretch it, or save
it, if only to waste it in the end. Thank goodness that
even in summertime we are reminded that God's
salvation--"God's Saving Time"--is always at hand.
Thank goodness that we are able to plot the time of
summer in order to consecrate it and there encounter the
God who orders not only all things, but all time as well.
Whatever grows around us on the windowsill or in the
garden, whatever appears fresh at the market, can remind
us of plotting time and of the surprises of time's
unfurling, the benevolent time of God's coming. That is
why this time is as good a time as any to nurture the
inner ear, the inner eye, and to move to the rhythm of
God's saving time, God's surprising salvation.
PASS A GOOD TIME
In Louisiana's Cajun country, folks invite one another
over to "pass a good time, cher." We who are church are
here to pass a good time, to tend to one another, to tend
to God's good earth and our good gardens. We are here
to be wide awake to God's saving time within all and
through all.
We pass a good time here but once, however, so we must
take time to proclaim God's timeless faithfulness through
summer's short nights and to sing of God's endless
kindness at summer's fresh new dawn. We must give
ourselves and others the time to grow and prosper under
the watchful eye of God, who, as an old prayer reminds
us, dwells with us in time "beyond the region of thunder,
in a land that is always peaceful, always serene and
bright with . . . resplendent glory."

We thank everyone who participated and helped make last Sunday’s Eucharistic Procession so reverent and
beautiful. It was so nice to see so many people participate in this beautiful ceremony A special “thank you” to
the ladies who prepared the altars with beautiful flowers. It is so very important that we keep the sacred
traditions of the Church – and this is one of them. To see you walking in procession behind the Blessed
Sacrament singing hymns and praying at each altar so reverently brings much joy to the God who loves us.
May He continue to bless you and your family
Do you have a “green thumb” and would like to help make our grounds even more beautiful? Bill and I
trimmed the trees and pulled the vines and weeds around the Blessed Virgin Mary Statue in the side yard of
the Rectory that faces Almond Street. Many people walk by the statue daily and utter a prayer. She could
use some flowers planted there to make it look nicer. Would you like to “adopt” that area and take care of it
during the summer and fall months? If you do, please call the rectory. .
The Mass Intention book for 2015 for Masses from July 1st to December 31st will be open on Tuesday,
June 16th during Rectory Office hours (9:00 – 4:30). Please do not come to the Rectory to request Mass dates
before the 16th.
There will be one more Baptismal Class presented before summer begins. It will be held this Monday,
June 15th, in the Chapel, at 7:00 PM. Parents and Godparents who wish to have their children baptized
must attend this class to prepare them for the reception of this sacrament. Expectant parents may also attend
this class. Please call the Rectory to enroll so we can make adequate arrangements. Godparents must obtain a
letter of eligibility from their parish and bring it to the class.
Vacation time is upon us and, as school ends, we will be travelling to various destinations. Please don't forget
to attend Mass on Sundays. If you are looking for a Catholic Church where you are vacationing, there is a
website: www.MassTimes.org that lists every Church in the United States with a map of location, Mass times
and telephone numbers. If you don’t have access to a computer, call the Rectory and my staff will be more
than happy to help you. God has blessed us with the opportunity to go on vacation and to have a good time. At
the same time, we need to be renewed in His love constantly and strengthened by the graces He gives us. Our
bills continue to come every week during the summer months and our Sunday collections are very important.
If you are away, please send your envelopes to the Rectory. Enjoy your vacations and may God be with you.
I am leaving after the 10:00 Mass next Sunday for my annual Retreat in Vermont and will return on Saturday
evening, the 27th, for the 5:00 Mass. I will remember you and your loved ones in my prayers.
May God grant all of you a beautiful week!

Niech Bóg Błogosławi Ciebie i Twoja rodzinę.
Czy masz "zielony kciuk" i chciałbyś pomóc w upiększaniu naszych terenów? Bill i Ja przycięliśmy
Można by zagospodarować ogródek koło statuy kwiaty, aby ładnie wyglądało. Czy chciałbyś, "przyjąć" ten
obszar i dbać o niego latem i jesienią? Jeśli tak, prosimy o kontakt z plebanii.
Książka Intencji Mszalnych od 1 lipca do 31 grudnia będzie otwarta we wtorek, 16 czerwca w
godzinach pracy biura (09:00 - 04:30).
Zjednoczonych z mapą lokalizacji, godzina Mszy Świętej i numerem telefonu.
prosimy wysłać koperty do plebanii.
Będę pamiętał o Was i waszych bliskich w moich modlitwach.
Harcerzy. 20 Czerwca zaczynamy o godzinie 16: 00 a 21 Czerwca o godzinie 12:30. Dla dzieci wynajęliśmy
Bouncy House, a w sobotę zagra dal nas DJ i zespół KWADRAT. Serdecznie zapraszamy na atrakcje i
zabawę dla całej rodziny!
Niech Bóg da wam wszystkim piękny tydzień!
