A: Welcome back to RAM English Zone ‘Strefa angielskiego’ on typical mistakes in
English.
B: And today we are going to discuss and explain 2 typical mistakes.
A: The mistakes are: ‘Today morning’ and ‘phone to him’
B: So, please listen carefully if you want to speak better English!
A: OK, so where are we today? – Let’s choose a card…. (rustle)
B: Today we are at school.
A: All right, so. Action…
A: Ok, class, let’s call the register. Verity Duncan.
B: Yes, sir.
A: Verity, you don’t sound very good today.
B: Well, today morning I feel really sick.
A: Oh, in English we say ‘This morning’. Not today morning.
B: OK, OK.
A: Um, if you’re feeling sick, I think you should contact your father, perhaps he
can come and collect you.
B: OK. I have my mobile with me, I’ll phone to him now.
A: Oh, in English we say ‘Phone him now’. Let’s put that into context.
B: This morning, I was feeling ill, so I was allowed to phone my father to ask if I
could go home.
A: That’s right. Put the correct English into a personal context and you won’t
forget it.
B: New RAM English Zone on typical mistakes.
A: With Terry Clark-Ward and Verity Duncan.
