It would be difficult to list all the celebrated prizes, distinctions
and nominations that confirm the Krakow Festival Office’s importance on the city’s cultural scene, but let’s note a few examples. Critics and the media are spellbound by Sacrum Profanum
(winner of the prestigious Kulturalne Odloty from the “Gazeta
Wyborcza” daily and a media poll for event of the year in Poland,
and awarded a distinction from the British monthly “Gramophone”), the Film Music Festival (event of the year in numerous polls,
and winner of the FIMUCITE festival), and Misteria Paschalia
(influential rankings in the “Rzeczpospolita” daily and “Polityka”
weekly).
Wśród kilkudziesięciu nagród, wyróżnień i nominacji do prestiżowych laurów, które świadczą o docenianiu działalności KBF przez
krytykę i media, wymieńmy kilka przykładowych w różnych dziedzinach. Szczególne wyróżnienia spotkały Festiwal Sacrum Profanum
(prestiżowe Kulturalne Odloty „Gazety Wyborczej”, zwycięstwa
i wysokie miejsca w medialnych plebiscytach na wydarzenie roku
w Polsce, wyróżnienie brytyjskiego miesięcznika „Gramophone”),
Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej (wydarzenie roku w licznych plebiscytach,
nagroda festiwalu FIMUCITE) czy Misteria Paschalia (opiniotwórcze
rankingi „Rzeczpospolitej” i „Polityki”).
Liczne i prestiżowe nagrody przyznano również oryginalnej promocyjnej i wydawniczej oprawie wydarzeń: były wśród nich złote
statuetki w międzynarodowym konkursie IFEA Pinnacle Awards dla
kampanii reklamowej koncertu Orlando furioso z cyklu Opera Rara
(2011) i dla katalogu Grolsch ArtBoom Festival (2012), nominacja do
European Design Award dla książki programowej 9. Festiwalu Sacrum
Profanum (2011) oraz nominacje do prestiżowej nagrody mediów
NIPTEL i Mobile Trends Award.
Krakowskie Biuro Festiwalowe doceniano także za działania na rzecz
dzieci i młodzieży – Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej został nagrodzony
statuetką Złotego Słonecznika 2011 za najbardziej wartościową
inicjatywę dla dzieci do 14. roku życia, zaś dwa z punktów sieci informacji miejskiej InfoKraków uznano za Miejsca przyjazne maluchom.
Prestiżowym wyróżnieniem było drugie miejsce w konkursie Polskiej
Organizacji Turystycznej na najlepszy punkt IT w najwyższej, czterogwiazdkowej kategorii dla punktu InfoKraków w Centrum Obsługi
Ruchu Turystycznego (ul. Powiśle 11). Doceniano również m.in. akcje
promujące czytelnictwo (Marka Radia Kraków za Drugie Życie Książki
i Wirtualną Bibliotekę Wydawców).
W 2013 roku zastępca Dyrektora Krakowskiego Biura Festiwalowego
ds. Programowych Robert Piaskowski został odznaczony Orderem
Kawalera Sztuki i Literatury (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) przez
Ministra ds. Kultury i Środków Przekazu Republiki Francuskiej,
m.in. za regularną obecność francuskich pisarzy, artystów, zespołów
w działalności kulturalnej Krakowskiego Biura Festiwalowego, a także
wysoką jakość współpracy z instytucjami kultury Francji w Polsce
i za granicą.

Cenione i nagradzane
Numerous prizes have also been awarded for the innovative promotional and publishing activities surrounding events: they include golden statuettes in the International Festivals and Events
Association Pinnacle Awards for the campaign advertising the
concert Orlando furioso from the Opera Rara cycle (2011) and for
the catalogue of the Grolsch ArtBoom Festival (2012), a nomination for the European Design Award for the programme
of the 9th Sacrum Profanum Festival (2011), and a nomination
for the media prizes NIPTEL and Mobile Trends Award.
The Krakow Festival Office has also been recognised for its activities supporting events for children and young people:
the Film Music Festival has been awarded the Golden Sunflower
2011 statuette for the best initiative for children under 14-years-old, while two of the locations of the InfoKraków tourist
information network hold the Child-Friendly Place certificate.
Additionally, the InfoKraków point at the Tourist Service Centre
(11 Powiśle Street) was placed second in the competition held
by the Polish Tourism Organisation for the best IT point in the
top four-star category. Campaigns promoting reading have also
been recognised, receiving the Marka Radia Kraków award
for the Second Life of a Book and Virtual Library of Publishers.
In 2013, Robert Piaskowski, deputy director of the Krakow Festival Office in charge of programming, was awarded the Ordre des
Arts et des Lettres by France’s Minister of Culture for his activities
such as the frequent inclusion of French authors, artists and
ensembles in events organised by the Krakow Festival Office,
and for his valued collaboration with French cultural institutions
in Poland and abroad.
