Lecture – Zdzisław Mach
The aim is to present and discuss EU policies related to research and
education, research programmes (Framework Programmes, Marie
Curie), exchange programmes and education collaborative
programmes (such as Erasmus Mundus, Jean Monnet), the idea of
Life Long Learning, as well as the dilemmas related to EU policies in
the fields of research, education and training.

From idea to success. Preparation of the application for an
international research project – EU 7th Framework Programme;
EUROCORES etc.

Workshop - Magdalena Góra
The main aim is to present and practice the major elements in the
preparation of an international research project. The students will
practice such elements as writing the initial project statement,
discuss the duties and responsibilities of the project leader and
discuss how to approach potential partners. Various Internet engines
designed to search for partners will be presented. The group
processes needed to prepare the project application and the main
elements of research project will be presented.
Crucial issues such as how to built an effective working group, what
are milestones and how to draft them, what are deliverables and
how to plan them in a long-term perspective will be presented.
EU documents – application forms, instructions to the applicant, and
criteria of selection.

Workshop – Magdalena Góra
The main aim is to introduce the basic concepts and skills necessary
to coordinate international research projects. Issues such as the
internal organisation of projects, management of the everyday
coordination of a group of international researchers, and evaluation
and reporting will be presented and practiced.

The aim is to introduce and discuss the main stages of a research
project implementation. Most contemporary research projects
expect researchers to evaluate the research process on a regular
basis. The session is designed to train the ability to deliver the main
goals on time, how to plan the process of reaching milestones and
deliverables and how to develop skills in crisis management and
reaction to unexpected circumstances which may occur when
implementing international projects.
