HOPE AND FORGIVENESS
There were some interesting conceptions of
sin prevalent in the time of the Hebrew scriptures. There was the belief that God punished
sin immediately. Those who suffered disease or
misfortune were, therefore, sinners getting their
due from the Almighty.
Today’s first reading hints at another kind of God. When
David admits his sin, Nathan declares, “The LORD on his part
has forgiven your sin”. Here was not a vengeful God but a merciful God. What good news that must have been to David and
those who, like him, could be honest enough to admit their sinfulness!
Jesus is the good news of God’s mercy and forgiveness incarnate. Without Jesus, perhaps the Good News would have been
too good to believe, too difficult to imagine. But there he is in
today’s Gospel, the God-man, forgiving a sinner and declaring
that she is forgiven because of her great love.
There is hope, then, for the rest of us sinners, if only we love
enough!
The second collection this weekend will be taken
for the Oklahoma survivors of natural disasters.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated
for the Catholic Communications Campaign.

This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day, allowing us to
honor our fathers with prayers, visit, a token of appreciation, or
a silent prayer at the cemetery. These are all gestures of gratitude for all the hard work, security and support we receive from
our fathers. And to all the Fathers—May the blessings and
love of our Heavenly Father be yours in abundance this Father’s Day and always.

SOLEMN VESPERS TO OPEN FORTNIGHT FOR
FREEDOM - The second annual Fortnight for Freedom will
take place from June 21 through July 4. All are invited to Join
Bishop McManus in opening our diocesan observance of the
Fortnight with Solemn Vespers, Eucharistic Adoration and
Benediction on Friday, June 21 at 7:00pm at St. Paul Cathedral,
as we unite in fervent prayer to invoke the Lord’s help in safeguarding our fundamental religious liberties. Please join us!
CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN
CCC supports projects throughout the world that encourage
use of new media as a tool for the New Evangelization. The
collection for CCC plays a role in evangelization by providing
grants for social media sites, podcasts, print media, radio and
television projects that spread the Good News. The CCC provides content the way you need it and half of your donations
stay in our diocese to support our communication needs. CCC
is how the Good News gets around to you. We appreciate your
generosity in supporting this cause during next weekend’s second collection.
GREAT NEWS!!
We are pleased to inform you that on Monday, June 10th the
Town of Webster Planning Board approved the architectural
plans for the new gymnasium for St. Joseph School. This is a
very important decision and a major step in the construction
process. We are grateful to the members of the Planning Board,
our neighbors and the Webster community for their spirit of
cooperation and support. At the present time, architects are
working closely with the contractor, Lauring Construction and
sub-contractors to finalize the plans and begin excavation.
SCHOOL NEWS
Class of 2013—were treated to a good-bye luncheon at the
rectory at noon on Monday, courtesy of Rev. Msgr. Anthony
Czarnecki. They enjoyed good food, friendship and of course
conversation amongst themselves on their plans for the summer
and their future. Msgr. Czarnecki, Principal, Mr. Cushing and
8th grade teacher, Mrs. Weaver spoke about the students’ years
at SJS, their dedication to studies and to their faith and emphasized the need for continuing their ties with the Church and the
school. Best wishes for success to all!
Pre-K Graduation– on Tuesday, June 11th, 26 Pre-K graduates received diplomas and dazzled a large audience with a performance where they really proved how much they learned during the 2012-2013 academic school year. The bright and energetic youngsters are well prepared to begin their Kindergarten
education in September.
We are most grateful to Principal, Mr. Cushing, Dean of Students, Mr. Skrocki and above all the teachers, Ms. Dodge, Mrs.
Zdrok, the aides, Mrs. Faron, Mrs. Durda and volunteer, Mrs.
Wade. The joy was intensified by the serving of ice cream to
the graduates and the audience also were treated to various pastries. We wish all our graduates a restful and healthy summer.
A special thank you to our friends at PAV who provided
their facility for this special occasion (free of charge) as our
cafeteria was occupied with preparations for our festival.
Final Days-on Thursday, June 13th the entire student body
were treated to an outdoor cookout under the big tent at
11:30am courtesy of Msgr. Czarnecki. Hot dogs, hamburgers
and dessert were served and created a proper setting for the
camaraderie and chatter of the students and provided an outlet
for them to enjoy each others company.
We are grateful to the “Chef of the Day” with the assistance
of all the teachers.
Successful 2012-2013 Academic Year–we have completed
another great academic year at St. Joseph School, highlighted
by the performance of a very qualified and diverse faculty.
Students in all grades worked diligently in and out of the classroom, doing class work, projects, etc. Our students scored very
high on the Terra Nova School testing sequence, a very nice
accomplishment indeed. The 8th graders were spectacular in
academic endeavors as well as in their character development
and school citizenship.
In mathematics, Professor William Steglitz continued to forge
ahead with the algebraic sequence as well as topics in mathematics 8th graders normally are not exposed to. All of the 8th
grade students were accepted at fine schools and should become
leaders at those chosen schools.
St. Joseph School is an excellent school and is worthy of our
support by recommending new students to the school, volunteering in some way or by financial enhancement.
The school is well managed—the teachers are excellent—
groundbreaking for a new gym (wellness center) took place last
week. The students are productive, happy and accomplishing
amazing things. The school is deserving of the support from
the St. Joseph Parish Community.
Liturgical Celebration-the conclusion and beginning of the
school year is always accompanied by liturgical service. On
Monday, June 17th at 8:30am all of our students, faculty and
staff will gather to thank God for all their successes and accomplishments of the 2012-2013 school year. The children’s choir
will assist with the liturgical selections. A variety of recognitions will be announced at Mass. We request that parents,
grandparents, guardians and parishioners join us to wish all of
our students a safe summer.
REMINDER
Sacred Heart Society - is accepting new members (men and
women) to join this society which participates in many activities for the benefit of our parish. Please call President, Theresa

Installation of new members will take place on Sunday, June
23rd at the 8:15am Liturgy, followed by a Coffee Hour in the
school conference room.
St. Anne Society -membership drive is ongoing and we welcome new members to join this society’s long standing tradition
of seeking God’s blessing through the intercession of St. Anne.

OFFICE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
We suggest that you register students for Religious Education
classes for the 2013-2014 sessions as soon as possible. The fee
is $30 for one child and $50 for two or more children. Registrants after July 1st will be charged a late fee of $5. Forms are
available at the entrances to the Basilica.

NOVENA AND DEVOTIONS TO ST. JOSEPH
Devotions to St. Joseph will be held on Wed., June 19th at
7:00pm. Members of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club will
process with the statue of St. Joseph from the Chapel of Our
Lady of Czestochowa to the sanctuary. Prayer intention request
forms are available in the chapel. Please print your intentions
legibly and place in the box provided. We encourage the
members of the SJPWC, parishioners and friends to join us and
take advantage of the opportunity to receive graces through the
intercession of our powerful Patron, St. Joseph.

JEDENASTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

"Teraz zaś już nie ja żyję, lecz żyje we mnie Chrystus." (Gal 2, 20)
W Wigilię Paschalną Kościół śpiewa
o „błogosławionej winie” – o grzechu, który jest
tylko przed-ostatnim słowem o naszym życiu.
Ostatnim jest miłość: świętego przebaczającego
Boga i grzesznego nawracającego się człowieka.
W niej Święty i grzesznik stają się jednym, gdyż
wyznanie swoich grzechów jest wyrazem miłości. Dla
faryzeusza Szymona kobieta płacząca u stóp Jezusa jest
grzesznicą, zagrożeniem dla jego religijnej czystości. Dla
Zbawiciela jest ona powodem wesela, większym niż suto
zastawiony stół w domu bogobojnego faryzeusza. Dalszą drogę
do Jezusa ma Szymon niż jawnogrzesznica. Jeśli boimy się
dotknąć Pana, ponieważ upadliśmy lub wciąż upadamy
wskutek duchowej biedy, patrzmy na tę kobietę: w niej już nie
ma grzechu – jest miłość.
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona
na pomoc ofiarom kataklizmu w Oklahomie.
Druga kolekta w przyszła niedzielę będzie przeznaczona
na Catholic Communications Campaign.
DZIEŃ OJCA
Dzisiejszej niedzieli świętujemy Dzień Ojca. który pozwala
nam na uhonorowanie naszych ojców poprzez modlitwę,
złożone wizyty oraz wyrazy uznania, a wszystko to po to, by
podziękować za cała ciężką pracę włożoną w nasze
wychowanie. Niech Ojciec Niebieski obdarzy swoim
błogosławieństwem wszystkich ojców nie tylko w dniu ich
święta, ale i na każdy dzień.

W piątek rozpoczęliśmy nasz coroczny Festiwal Parafialny.
Wspólna zabawa potrwa do dzisiejszego popołudnia. Dołącz do

różnorodnych loterii oraz zabaw dla dzieci. Nie zapomnij

WSPANIAŁA WIADOMOŚĆ
Z radością informujemy, że w ubiegły poniedziałek Planning
Board miasta Webster zaaprobował plany architektoniczne dla
sali gimnastycznej. To bardzo ważna decyzja i kolejny
ogromny krok w pracach przy tej budowie. Dziękujemy
członkom Planning Board, mieszkańcom Webster oraz
najbliższym sąsiadom, za ich współpracę i wsparcie. Obecnie
architekci przy współpracy z głównym wykonawcą: Lauring
Construction
oraz
podwykonawcami
pracują
nad
finaizowaniem planów i rozpoczęciem pierwszych wykopów.
ZAKOŃCZENIE ROKU SZKOLNEGO
W poniedziałek 17 czerwca spotykamy się po raz ostatnim w
tym roku szkolnym. O godz. 8:30 w trakcie uroczystej
Eucharystii, wraz ze wszystkimi uczniami, nauczycielami i
pracownikami szkoły, podziękujemy Bogu za wszystkie
osiągnięcia ubiegłego roku. Do wspólnej modlitwy zapraszamy
również rodziców, przyjaciół oraz parafian.
RELIGIA
Przypominamy o zapisywaniu dzieci na katechizację na
przyszły rok szkolny. Opłata wynosi $30 za jedno dziecko oraz
$50 za dwoje lub więcej dzieci. Bardzo prosimy o dokonanie
zapisu przed zakończeniem czerwca. Po upływie tego terminu
będzie pobierana dodatkowa opłata w wysokości $5.
Formularze zapisowe są dostępne przy wejściach do Bazyliki.

CATHOLIC COMUNICATION CAMPAIGN
Catholic Communication Campaign wspiera na całym świecie
projekty, które mają na celu promowanie użycia najnowszych
mediów w Nowej Ewangelizacji. Połowa zebranych przez nas
środków pozostaje w naszej diecezji dla wsparcia naszych
diecezjalnych mediów. Dziękujemy za Waszą szczodrobliwość.

KULT SWIĘTYCH W KOSCIELE
Od zarania Chrześcijaństwa pośród wyznawcach Chrystusa obecny był kult świętych. Świadczą o tym między innymi rysunki
znajdowane w kryptach, gdzie obok pasterza symbolizującego Chrystusa znajdują się również wizerunki Maryi i Jana Chrzciciela.
W czasach prześladowań do tego grona dołączają również obrazy tych, którzy ponieśli męczeńską śmierć. Z czasem również ci,
którzy za życia odznaczali się szczególnymi cnotami i umiłowaniem Boga, stawali się wzorem dla chrześcijańskich wspólnot i byli
przedstawiani, jako model do naśladowania dla innych.
Obok modlitw skierowanych do świętych, a właściwie, przez ich pośrednictwo zanoszonych do Boga, Kościół oddaje cześć

mamy możliwość do pogłębiania wiary i łączności z Bogiem poprzez uczestnictwo w co tygodniowej Nowennie, którą bezpośrednio
