Emergency Line for Foreign Tourists
The 11th edition of "Emergency Line" - an information action addressed to foreign tourists
was launched on May 15, 2012.
The main objective of the "Emergency Line" initiative is to improve the safety of foreign
tourists visiting Poland, by providing them with information and assistance in emergency
situations, such as health problems, loss of documents, theft, etc. The "Emergency Line"
will function as part of the safety system operating during UEFA EURO 2012.

was launched on May 15, 2012.
The main objective of the "Emergency Line" initiative is to improve the safety of foreign
tourists visiting Poland, by providing them with information and assistance in emergency
situations, such as health problems, loss of documents, theft, etc. The "Emergency Line"
will function as part of the safety system operating during UEFA EURO 2012TM.
Tourists may use the following number 800 200 300 from landlines free of charge, and the
number +48 608 599 999 when calling from mobile phones, subject to payment (according
to the standard charge of the mobile network operator).
From 15 May until 31 May the "Emergency Line" operates from 10.00 am until 10.00
pm. In this period the information line is operated in three languages: English, German
and Russian.
In the period directly preceding the UEFA EURO 2012TM tournament and during the
Championships, that is from 1 June until 3 July, the "Emergency Line" will function 24
hours a day and additionally it will also be possible to submit enquires in Spanish and
Italian.
After the Championships, the line will revert to functioning in the standard mode. From 4
July until 30 September, the operators will answer calls from 10.00 am until 10.00 pm,
providing information in English, German and Russian.
During the entire time of the line's functioning, the notifications are registered under the
supervision of the General Police Headquarters, which considerably hastens the decision
on the intervention in emergency situations.
The "Emergency Line" is advertised in the country and abroad mainly by means of leaflets
and posters in 5 language versions - English, German, Russian, Spanish and Italian.
Moreover, information about the line has been included in all promotional publications of
the Polish Tourist Organisation, on the website of the action's co-organisers, and on the
UEFA EURO 2012TM website.
The information materials in the form of leaflets are distributed abroad and in Poland by
the Polish National Tourist Offices, handed out at border crossing points, railway stations
and airports, as well as in the consulates and embassies of the Republic of Poland.
In the period directly preceding the European Football Championships and during the
tournament, the leaflets and posters will be distributed in host cities of UEFA EURO 2012
TM in the embassies of the participating countries, as well as in the fan zones, at the
stadiums, in tourist information points, selected hotels, main communication hubs and on
trains travelling on the routes which are important from the point of view of the
Championship's organisation.
