If you can imagine this you must be thinking about Venezuela. Our country has four of the best universities in Latin America. Los Andes University, Carabobo University (Universidad de Carabobo), Simón Bolívar University (USB) and Central University of Venezuela (Universidad Central de Venezuela). For example the Simón Bolívar University, the best University of engineering in the country, have an agreement with AGH, this agreement allow two students for make 6 months of their careers in USB, mainly in engineering: Electronics, Electrics, Materials, Chemistry, Production, Geophysics, Mechanics, Telecommunications. However USB also have Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Administration, Architecture and Urbanism. On the other hand, Venezuela has the most beautiful environments in the world, in the whole north part of Caracas (the capital) is “El Ávila” which is a huge mountain which covers the entire city, this beautiful landscape can be watched from almost every part of the city. Besides, this mountain is not only for being looked at, also is an excellent place for do hiking because there are a lot of routes which are very exciting and beautiful. Also, Caracas is the richest city in Venezuela if we are talking about cuisine; you can find any type of food, for example Italian (pizza everywhere), Spanish (paella everywhere), North American food (hot dogs and hamburgers everywhere), French, German, Polish, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Greek, Portuguese, Arabian and others; so, if you want to try different dishes for diverse countries in the world, Caracas is a great place to do that. Moreover, there is not only food from another countries, you can also find delicious and typical dishes everywhere in the city. For example, you can find a lot of places that sell “Arepa”, now you are probably asking, what is Arepa? It’s a dish made of ground corn dough with a circle flat shape, can be grilled, baked, boiled or fried, it can be filled with meat, eggs, cheese, chicken, fish, a mix of the meals said before, and others. In Christmas, there some traditional dishes like “Hallaca” which involves a mixture of beef, pork or chicken (made as a stew) with raisins, capers, and olives wrapped in cornmeal dough, folded within plantain leaves, tied with strings, and boiled or steamed afterwards; also, is the “Pan de Jamón” or Jam bread, that is bread with jam, olives and raisins inside, also, can have bacon and cheese. On the other hand, one of the most representative foods in Venezuela is “Pabellón”, which is a dish that joins fried plantain slices (“tajadas”), rice with black beams and shredded beef. Also there is the “Pepito”, that is a piece of bread filled with meat, chicken, mini fried potato, tomato, avocado, egg, cheese, sauces, and others. Furthermore, there are “Empanadas”, which is fried mass filled with cheese, beams, meat, chicken, fish or any other food that you desire. Also, there are delicious drinks like “Chicha”, based on rice, condensed milk, milk and cinnamon; “Cocada”, based on coco, coco water, sugar and sometimes milk, cinnamon and condensed milk; “Papelón con Limón”, which is lemon juice with a special brown sugar. Very happy persons who always are joking and can put a smile on your face. Also, is important to know (for the guys) that in Venezuela you can find the most beautiful girls in the world, and is not only the beauty, is also the diversity, because is possible find brunettes, blonds, gingers and Asiatic. And for the women, don´t be sad, Venezuela have a lot of attractive guys who also are very great dancers, so you will have a great experience. The life in Caracas is quite cheap, especially in the Simon Bolivar University. They have gratuity public transport, bus that can take you from the city to the university and go back. Also, in this place the food is very cheap, to be more precise, the breakfast cost 0.8 zl, the lunch 1.91 zl and the dinner 0.4 zl. In the city the prices are higher but they are accessible to the student (especially for European students who have advantage of the money exchange). The professors of Simón Bolívar University are highly qualified, almost all of them are Phd or Doctors, with many researches and science publications, so don’t worry you are in hands of experts. Furthermore, the USB has many students groups which you can join and learn a lot, there exist diving team, photography group, surfing group, Christian group and much more others. The campus also counts with sports fields and pool, of course has football or polo teams, etc. USB has gym and one of the largest libraries in The Latin-America. In the Merida State has the Bolivar peak is the highest mountain of the country with a 4,978 m, so if you really miss the snow you can go and see it again, is the only place of Venezuela where you can find it. In opposite way also you can find the extremely hot of the desert in the National Park Medanos de Coro, is in Coro, Falcon State and is 91.280 hm² of desert and coastal habitat. Don´t worry anymore because in Venezuela, the temperatures are very comfortable. In Caracas, almost all the year the temperatures are between 20 – 25 °C, only in the “winter” the temperature decrease to 16 – 18 °C, which is very hot if you compare with European winter. In the other cities the weather is similar, only a quite higher or lower temperatures. In conclusion if you want go to LatinAmerica you must choose Venezuela, if you are worry about the language take it easy Spanish is so easy, for sure more than Polish and you already know it, of course you can learn Spanish faster. Make a decision choose Venezuela as your destination for exchange, the magic place with magic people, you’ll never regret it. It’s amazingly hard to spend with yourself every single hour. It may sounds a little bit ridiculous but it results in constant dizziness. Brainstorms, hopeless effort to think every stimuluses over. It feels like You had a huge swirl of thoughts in your head which is already interspersed with collage of modern and antique giving it the whole new way of perception, all the things you see are bombarding you which enormous speed. Moreover London You had expected is not the one you’ve seen. Surprisingly room to rent is not gonna find itself, bicycle does not cost 10 pounds and YES after 12 hours of working you have to eat something. I put my hand out and turn to St.Aidan’s Road. Chained my bike in front of three floored victorian house. Terry, the 100 years old english gentleman was waiting outside. “Good evening little lady! I have your keys, If you want it.” he hoarned, rattled two small golden keys and gave me one of his charming toothless smiles. I wrapped my arms around him and run to my future room upstairs. It’s tiny with angry red wall and only bed inside, but this is a place I’ gonna call home for next 3 months. Maybe after all, everything is going to be just right, like I’ve dreamed it... It’s the season to be jolly, so the decoration is highly inspired. All the decorations are as bright as Rudolph's nose. You know the most the owners, chatting. A competition for the best decorated house is fierce. On Christmas Day most people have a “barbie”, plenty of grilled meats and fanciful salads. That’s when the guys cook and female folk gossip. Everybody is expected to bring a plate. And something on it, of course! And popular Christmas carol, Rudolf the red nose reindeer, right? Well, his nose is very bright red and many people have it blink at night. You will basically see amazing decorations on every house. Santas saying “Ho, ho, ho” and bowing and rocking… little elves, Santa’s faithful helpers, singing, reindeer with sleigh attached on the roof tops, angels, Christmas trees with lights that make you think you’re in some fairy land, cotton wool to imitate snow, tinsel, baubles as colourful as lorikeets (but you can’t see them at night, only flying foxes steeling fruit), white snowmen (made of plastic, of course) bobbing joyfully… All this happens in very hot weather, so visitors wear shorts and T-shirts and thongs. They go from house to house admiring the display, meeting then, when you’re really full up, they serve Pavlova, fruit salad, rum-balls, Christmas pudding – as if you could still fit it all in! Neighbours pop in to wish everybody “Merry Christmas” and have their share of the feast. Other than that, the wind is hot as lava but with people celebrating gifts (that you get on Christmas Day), Jesus and other things (some people even have their birthdays on Christmas, but I think they must have a lack of presents) have real fun. On Boxing Day many people go sailing – it’s the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race, so you have to watch it on telly! Others go shopping and exchanging presents that they didn’t want for something else they still don’t need. So now you know a bit of what Christmas is about in Australia. Paaaa! Wszystko mi smakuje, sałatki i karp w szczególności! 9 dni przed 24 grudnia zaczynają się posady (posada oznacza schronienie, miejsce do spania); 9 dni symbolizuje 9 miesięcy ciąży Marii, kiedy to z Józefem podróżowali do Betlejem i tam szukali schronienia. Y si la has visto, vuelve a descubrirla. Jeśli go nie znasz, musisz go zobaczyć. Jeśli znasz, odkryj go na nowo. Jeśli będziesz pierwszą osobą, która prześle tytuł filmu do Redakcji, dostaniesz ode mnie drobny prezencik. Powodzenia! Dwanaście winogron... śmierci W wykonaniu gwiazd pierwszej wielkości (Victoria Abril, Jorge Sanz y Maribel Verdú), oparty na prawdziwym 10 pl zdarzeniu, film Kochankowie Vicente Arandy, rozgrywa się w powojennej Hiszpanii, rozdartej, mętnej i nieprzyjaznej. Paco szuka łatwego życia u boku Luisy, uwodzicielskiej kobiety o wątpliwej moralności, gardząc czystym uczuciem swojej narzeczonej Trini, gotowej na każdą ofiarę dla ukochanego. Koniec końców narzeczeni wyruszają we wspólną podróż. Hidden controversy... Narkotyki. Dlaczego legalizacja jest nieuchronna? - Michel Henry Paulina Suchińska I put down a book in a black cover with red title back on my knees, took off my glasses, rubbed my already red from reading eyes. I chcecked the clock, its 4 am. Am takinga deep breath trying to gather myself toghether. I've promised to write a review about this book, cause it is the topic more than personal for me. I remember observing people so important for me losing themselves in adiction. They wanted more, faster, harder.'It helps me think' they used to say, ' it makes me happy', 'It makes me the king of the world', I don't need anything else'... It doesn't matter how intelligent you are and if you have extreme will power. Everything start to sleep through your fingers. At the end you ae no longer able to think, eat, feel. I remember taking the book from Ula. I got back home, half opened the first page and put it back on the kitchen table. It stayed there for at least2 weeks before I made myself sit on the armchair wrapped out in anti-memory blancket and start reading. I read through the first part of datas and numbers and through the next one ... and through the next one. Numbers begin to merge with the other numbers. Conclusions with other conclusions or maybe rather with one particular conclusion which is so obvious from the very first page. Author focused on strong facts, and I have to admit, left me speachless. The whole system and government was unmasked. But are we supposed to be led by only facts? Should we leave such a unstoppable power on its own? Should we trust surveys and numbers? What were my expectations reading this book? Maybe more + and -, maybe some pure humanity. How can we leave adicts on their on with no prevention? On the other hand, isn't forbidding something, the lack of freedom we all seak this days? Mabey we are the bad guys trying to stop it. So ... yes, the book eventhough it doesn't seem so, it makes you think by yourself. Surveys and number are just the base for your opinion. You can se the whole society and dugs industry from the other side. Although it's hard for me to appreciate essays, i have to admit that I've gained my whole new point of wiev. More matu, more general, more... mine. So If you have this book on your knees right now. I want you to know that you have great essay about corruption, politics and drugs in front of you. Jakie jest Twoje zdanie w kwestii legalizacji narkotyków? Napisz na [email protected] do 31.12.2012. Najciekawsze wypowiedzi zostaną nagrodzone książkami. I love water so I already knew that waterfront will be my favorite spot on the camp! Camp Ozark is a Christian Summer Camp for boys and girls at the age of 8 to 16. At the same time there are about 1,200 campers and 800 staff members. Camp Ozark occupies several hundred acres of National Forest land. It utilizes 78 cabins for summer camp program. There are 2 large covered pavilions for basketball and volleyball, a pavilion for gymnastics, several playing fields (for football, baseball), a dance studio, a woodshop, a wrestling and weight room pavilion, a crafts building, a climbing tower, a bouldering wall, riding rings (approximately 25 horses), ponds for fishing and canoeing, a skate park, 3 tennis courts, 4 netted batting cages, a mini-golf course, an archery range, rifle range and skeet range. And last but not least – natural, spring-fed waterfront which features 6 "Blobs", 4 water trampolines, 2 free swim areas, bumper boats and water logs. Before we could go to the USA and enjoy our stay there we had to prepare our trip. We had to fill in another online application, we also had to collect some documents which our employer requested. We also had to obtain VISA, so we had to schedule an appointment in the embassy. After that we went on to some more interesting stuff for me (not necessary for my boyfriend) – shopping ( We had to buy some things for both our stay at a camp and for our travel afterwards. We knew that we can only take luggage with limited weight so we tried to buy only really necessary things. While packing we still had to leave some at home, not because our luggage was too small but because it was too heavy. The weight of your luggage for overseas flights is important, so remember, try to pack as least as possible ( The day before our departure I was saying goodbye to my parents. I left them the set of copies of our documents such as our passports, VISAs, contracts, insurance and flight tickets. I’m really glad I did that because when my mom looked at my and Mateusz’s ticket, they turned out to be the tickets on different flights… The same date but different time of departure. We didn’t know it until then! I didn’t want to think what would happen if my mom hadn’t notice it! We didn’t buy those tickets ourselves so we assumed that if the date is the same it must be the same flight. Only it wasn’t. We were lucky to notice it on time. After about 40 hour journey – we were in Arkansas. We couldn’t be more happy. The day when we got our jobs. Our dream has just started to come true! Of course the job itself wasn’t our dream but it was a means to an end – our great adventure while traveling in the USA. I remember that day clearly. At that time we didn’t know much about the camp where we were placed at. The first thing I did when I got home after job fairs was to play a DVD which I got from the camp representative. It was a promotional DVD about our camp. I have to say that after watching this material I was even more excited. The camp looked really impressive! 12 Zagłosuj na ten artykuł na stronie www.blabel.agh.edu.pl/gazeta To be continued...
