TELEINFO 100 41 Distinction THE MOTA-ENGIL CENTRAL EUROPE SHARED SERVICES CENTRE The consolidation of five branches of the company into one, which took place at the beginning of the year 2010, required integrating the IT systems operated by these branches. To do this, the Shared Services Centre was established, which grasped the nettle quickly and flawlessly. Mota-Engil is a big international construction group, specializing, among others, in road construction. In 2010, a decision was made to merge the Mota-Engil CE companies from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary into one. The consolidation of the IT solutions in use in those companies was performed within the scope of the project under the banner: “A Modern Shared Services Centre for the Construction Industry and the Real Estate Industry”, subsidized by the European Union. The project evolved into a thriving company, the modernity of which is reflected both in its process model and in the concern for the quality of the services rendered. However, further development would not be possible without the application of cutting edge IT technologies. /Projects Distinguished: • • • The Active Directory Consolidation The Shared Services Centre The Service-Desk/ The Active Directory Integration The key element of the consolidation of the IT infrastructure in the companies merged was the Active Directory integration in five countries of Central Europe, since shared catalogue services and resource authorization constitute a condition necessary for the integration and standardization of processes within the area of IT. As for now, all the IT systems, except for the tool applications and small scale applications, are integrated with the Central AD within the entire area of the Group. Owing to that, Mota-Engil CE, as one of the first companies in Poland, was able to implement the MS Exchange 2010 system. The Shared Services Centre The establishment of one of the first Shared Services Centres in the construction industry was based on the consolidation of the area of finances, IT, human resources etc. of the Group Companies in Central Europe. The fact that there was very little time to implement the project was not the only challenge; another one was that it was connected with the loss of valuable human resources and disturbance of business processes. The project’s execution permitted to lower the costs of backoffice and standardize processes. The Service-Desk Very soon it turned out that it was necessary to standardize the user support process within the area of IT and HR services. At last, a decision was made to migrate from the ineffective manner of incident and request management in these areas to a state-of-the-art Service-Desk platform (IBM ITSM Maximo), adjustable to business needs. Among the benefits gained, there are: closing the majority of IT and HR processes within a single platform, obtaining access to updated and accurate data concerning the effectiveness and quality of services as well as standardization of the IT services available in the Group. Andrzej Gielata /General Director/ - The IT projects executed within the last few years have taken us and our clients to a totally different, higher level of the quality of work, its results and personal satisfaction of each and every employee. And, above all, this dynamics is still accompanying us. Dawid Kuźba /IT Manager/ - An efficient and innovative IT area constitutes an element indispensable for the operation of an organization and for the success of each and every undertaking. I believe that we have been carrying out our mission efficiently.
