On Sunday, June 4th, 2006 Fr. James Antiporek is celebrating the twenty-fifth Anniversary of his Ordination to the
Priesthood. Father Jim was a graduate of our school. He
also was a teacher in our school for five years before he
became a priest in the diocese of Joliet, IL. Fr. Jim is
presently the pastor at St. Irene Parish in Warrenville, IL.

REDEMPTION AND STEWARDSHIP
Within each of us there is a natural responsibility and obligation to care for God’s creation. When we do this we
acknowledge God’ supreme authority. However, those
who are baptized become ”stewards by grace.” This
means that we are able to act explicitly on God’s behalf in
cultivating and serving that portion of the world which is
entrusted to our care. Jesus was the perfect model of a
“steward by grace.” “For in Him all the fullness was
pleased to dwell, and through Him all things were reconciled; He made peace by the blood of His cross.” It will be
He who “hands over the kingdom to His God and Father.
We share in the priestly work of Jesus through our Baptism; we become a “royal priesthood.” We are called to
offer up the world and all that is in it especially ourselves –
even our deprivation, loss and pain - the Lord Jesus, leads

St. Mary of Czestochowa
Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is nothing
less than a close, private conversation with a living
person who is the risen Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It is about as close as we can come in this life
to talking with God face to face. You are very
important to the Lord. Come and spend an hour
with Him during our Wednesday Adoration program from 8:30 am to
7:00pm in the church.

Pentecost - Acts 2:1-11
Picture the apostles gathered together, not knowing
exactly what they are waiting for. Imagine their awe as they hear a sudden
rush of wind and see tongues of fire. Sense their joy
as the Holy Spirit overwhelms them and empowers
them to praise and adore the Lord like never before.
This is the birthday of the church. And what a blowout!
Let’s not forget that this is only one chapter in the
Book of Acts and the very beginning of the church’s
life. There are still lots more “fireworks” to come - like
Peter’s conversion of three thousand, Paul’s conversion at Damascus, and scores of other healings and
miracles. And, as you might expect, a fair share of
hardships lie ahead as well. For example, Paul will
face shipwrecks, imprisonments, and even humiliation at the hands of some of his closest Jewish
friends.
Acts has its fair share of stories of imprisonments,
controversies, and persecutions, but it’s important to
keep these stories in perspective. The miracles far
outweigh the struggles. In fact, they make the struggles that much more valuable. The apostles’ trials
remind us that the more Jesus fills us with his power,
the more he asks us to share in his cross. It’s not a
question of if Jesus will help us but of how.
On this great feast day, let’s thank the Holy Spirit
for all he has done, but let’s also remember that he is
far from finished! Just as the apostles did, we need
to entrust ourselves to his guidance every day. We
needn’t be afraid of hard times, for God will use them
to shape us into saints. We really should rejoice today, because the Holy Spirit who lives in us loves to
pour the power and victory of Christ into us day after
day, after day!
“Come Holy Spirit, and fill me with your joy as you
filled the apostles. Change my heart, and transform
me into a true reflection of your love.

Domingo de Pentecostés
Al anochecer de aquel día, el día primero de la semana, estaban los
discípulos en una casa, con las puertas cerradas por miedo a los judíos. Y
en esto entró Jesús, se puso en medio y les dijo: Paz a vosotros. Y,
diciendo esto, les enseñó las manos y el costado. Y los discípulos se
llenaron de alegría al ver al Señor. Jesús repitió: Paz a vosotros. Como el
Padre me ha enviado, así también os envío yo. Y, dicho esto, exhaló su
aliento sobre ellos y les dijo:Recibid el Espíritu Santo; a quienes les
perdonéis los pecados, les quedan perdonados; a quienes se los retengáis, les quedan retenidos.
J 20, 19-23
La Redención y la Corresponsabilidad
Cada persona tiene alguna responsabilidad natural por una porción
del mundo y la obligación de reconocer el dominio de Dios mientras
la cuida. Pero hay aquellos que podrían ser llamados corresponsables por la gracia. El bautismo crea cristianos corresponsables,
capaces de actuar expresamente en nombre de Dios cultivando y
sirviendo aquella porción del mundo que se les ha confiado. Vemos
el modelo perfecto de esa corresponsabilidad en el Señor. "Porque
así quiso Dios que la Pleni-tud permaneciera en él. Por él quiso
reconciliar consigo todo lo que existe, y por él, por su sangre derramada en la cruz" (Col 1:19-20; y finalmente será a él a quien
"entregue Dios Padre el reino" (1 Cor 15:24).
Participación en la actividad redentora de Cristo también incluye,
aunque no exclusivamente, el uso que la gente hace de experiencias que de otra manera no parecerían muy importantes: la necesidad, la pérdida, el dolor. "Ahora, me alegro cuando tengo que sufrir
por ustedes," dice San Pablo, "así completo en mi carne lo que falta
a los sufrimientos de Cristo, para bien de su cuerpo, que es la Iglesia" (Col 1:24). Aquí vamos a Jesús para que nos indique el camino.

Recibid el Espíritu Santo
Celebramos hoy el día de
Pentecostés. Celebramos que,
cincuenta días después de la
Pascua, la Iglesia recibe el don
del Espíritu Santo. El Espíritu
Santo se nos da para nuestra
santificación: para que vivamos
identificados totalmente con
Cristo, y, para que, así podamos
dar fruto abundante.
El Espíritu Santo nos da sus dones para sostener y
animar nuestra vida cristiana, nuestro camino de santidad.
Estos dones son actitudes interiores permanentes que nos
hacen dóciles para seguir los impulsos del Espíritu. Estos
siete dones son: sabiduría, inteligencia, consejo, fortaleza,
ciencia, piedad y temor de Dios. Son dones que no podemos
conseguir con nuestro esfuerzo, sino que los recibimos gratuitamente, y que hemos de pedir.
Si aceptamos en nuestro corazón estos siete dones, y
vivimos animados por el impulso del Espíritu siguiendo a
Jesucristo como único Maestro y único Señor, los dones del
Espíritu producen en nuestra vida doce frutos, que son la
obra del Espíritu en nuestra vida. Estos doce frutos, según la
Tradición de la Iglesia, son: caridad, gozo, paz, paciencia,
longanimidad (firmeza, perseverancia), bondad, benignidad,
mansedumbre, fidelidad, modestia, continencia y castidad
(Gálatas 5, 22-23).
La Palabra de Dios nos invita a rechazar el estilo de vida
del mundo, el estilo de vida de aquellos que quieren vivir
como si Dios no existiera, de aquellos que rechazan la luz de
Cristo y de la Iglesia, de aquellos que quieren vivir según sus
instintos y apetencias, convirtiéndose ellos mismos en el
“dios” de su vida.
Los frutos de los que viven la vida según la carne están
a la vista: fornicación, impureza, libertinaje, idolatría, hechicería, odios, discordia, celos, iras, ambición, divisiones, disensiones, rivalidades, borracheras, comilonas y cosas semejantes (cd. Gal 5, 19s)
¿Qué camino quieres elegir para tu vida? ¿El de la carne o el del Espíritu? El camino de la carne lleva a la amargura y a la muerte. El camino del Espíritu lleva a la felicidad y a
la vida eterna.
¡Anímate! Dios te ama y quiere tu felicidad y te da la
vida eterna. Ábrele el corazón para que el Espíritu Santo
vaya completando en tu vida esa obra del amor de Dios.

Niedziela Zesłania Ducha Świętego
Wieczorem w dniu Zmartwychwstania, tam
gdzie przebywali uczniowie, gdy drzwi były
zamknięte z obawy przed Żydami, przyszedł
Jezus, stanął pośrodku i rzekł do nich: Pokój
wam! A to powiedziawszy, pokazał im ręce i
bok. Uradowali się zatem uczniowie ujrzawszy
Pana. A Jezus znowu rzekł do nich: Pokój
wam! Jak Ojciec Mnie posłał, tak i Ja was posyłam. Po tych słowach tchnął na nich i powiedział im: Weźmijcie Ducha Świętego! Którym
odpuścicie grzechy, są im odpuszczone, a którym zatrzymacie, są im zatrzymane.

Odkupienie i współodpowiedzialność
Każdy człowiek powinny troszczyć się o świat, w
którym żyje, aby w nim wzrastała chwała Boża.
Jednak Chrześcijanie poprzez chrzest są do tego
szczególnie powołani. Przykładem takiej troski jest
Jezus Chrystus, który poprzez śmierć na krzyżu
pojednał świat ze sobą.
Przez chrzest każdy człowiek uczestniczy w kapłaństwie Chrystusa. Razem z Chrystusem może
codziennie składać Bogu ofiarę z siebie samego. Tą
ofiarą jest poświęcenie czasu dla rodziny, wspólna
modlitwa, czytanie pisma świętego, adoracja najświętszego sakramentu i uczestnictwo we Mszy
św.
Również poprzez ból i cierpienie uczestniczymy w
dziele zbawczym Chrystusa. Jak mówi Św. Paweł
teraz raduje się w moich cierpieniach i w moim
ciele dopełniam udręk Chrystusa dla dobra ciała
Chrystusowego, którym jest Kościół.
KARNAWAŁ PARAFIALNY
Po raz pierwszy chcemy zorganizować
karnawał parafialny. W związku z tym
zwracamy się z gorącą prośbą do
wszystkich parafian o pomoc. Aby karnawał mógł się odbyć potrzebne jest
zaangażowanie wielu osób. Chętnych
prosimy o wypełnienie poniższej formy
i wrzucenie jej na niedzielną kolektę
lub skontaktowanie się z biurem parafialnym.

O Uroczystości Zesłania Ducha Świętego
Uroczystość Zesłania Ducha świętego
(Pięćdziesiątnica) kończy obecnie okres wielkanocny. Świadectwa o jej obchodzie sięgają pierwszej
połowy II w., ale nie była to praktyka powszechna
- niektóre kościoły w Hiszpanii miały zwyczaj kończyć obchód Paschy świętem Wniebowstąpienia.
Napomnienia i nakazy synodów sprawiły, że w IV
w. święto Zesłania Ducha Świętego jest już obchodzone powszechnie. Do wzrostu znaczenia święta
przyczyniło się udzielenie w jego wigilię chrztu
tym, którzy z różnych powodów nie mogli być
ochrzczeni w wigilię paschalną. Jeszcze w czasach
papieża Leona Wielkiego (+460) Rzym kończył
okres wielkanocny uroczystością Zesłania Ducha
Świętego, ale w drugiej połowie VI w. pojawiła się
oktawa święta wzorowana na oktawie paschalnej,
którą Rzym przyjął i która przetrwała do ostatniej
reformy kalendarza. ...
Obchodząc uroczystość zstąpienia Ducha Świętego, nie tylko wspominamy wydarzenia należące do
przeszłości, lecz przeżywamy jego aktualną obecność dzisiaj - jako uprzywilejowany moment, w
którym Kościół odnawia swoją komunię z Duchem
Świętym. Zesłanie Ducha Świętego jest świętem
narodzin Kościoła powszechnego, nowego ludu
pielgrzymującego poprzez dzieje ku swemu wiecznemu przeznaczeniu. Trzeba, aby Kościół był miejscem ustawicznej Pięćdziesiątnicy, by można było
odczuć w nim tchnienie Ducha. Kościół jest przede
wszystkim dziełem Ducha Świętego. To On pobudza Kościół do przekazywania świadectwa o Chrystusie. Dzięki Niemu, przez posługę Kościoła, ludzie mogą dochodzić do wiary i miłować Chrystusa. Duch Święty jest równie konieczny dla istnienia
Kościoła, jak był konieczny dla samego Chrystusa,
który został poczęty z Ducha Świętego i wskrzeszony z martwych Jego mocą. Duch Święty związał swą moc i miłość z Kościołem Chrystusa aż do
Jego powrotu w dniu ostatecznym. Kościół istnieje
w świecie jako sakrament Ducha Świętego. Jego
mocą Kościół wyznaje, że „Jezus jest Panem” i
trwa w komunii z tajemnicą zmartwychwstałego
Chrystusa, tak jak był sprawcą Jego wcielenia
wśród nas.
