celebrate their anniversaries of Ordination. Fr. Zbigniew will celebrate on
Monday, May 25th and Fr. Waldemar will celebrate on Sunday,
May 31st. May God bless both of you as you celebrate your
service in the Lord. May you enjoy good health and may you
enjoy many more anniversaries! We thank you for all you do for

Very often we forget what Memorial Day
really means, and very rarely do we ask ourselves why we celebrate Memorial Day.
Those who have served in the armed forces
or have family members who have done so
are well aware of the history and meaning of
Memorial Day, some painfully so.
Hundreds of thousands of soldiers went to war for the United
states of America. They fought hard and they fought well, and
they fought for reasons that may or may not have been righteous. But they pledged themselves to the causes, because they
believed in the United States, and they believed in themselves
as a soldier.
Memorial Day at one time was not so much a celebration as it
was a day of solemnity, a day of respect and remembrance for
those who have served their country and have died doing so.
In memory of our fallen men and women of the armed forces,
we invite our parishioners and friends to celebrate a special
Mass at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, May 25th in our church in their
honor..
You are invited…….The annual Rosary Confraternity Dinner will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at
the St. Mary’s Social Center from 1PM to 5PM.

Our nation will celebrate Fathers’ Day on Sunday, June 21st. If you would like to remember
your living or deceased Father in a special way,
with a spiritual gift, on Fathers’ Day, you are
invited to take a Mass envelope home in
thanksgiving to or in memory of your deceased father. These
special Mass intention envelopes can be found at all entrances
of the church. You can place your donation in the envelope and
drop it in the collection basket when you come to Mass. All
Masses on the Fathers’ Day weekend will be offered for those
whose names are written on the envelope

How strong is your faith” Do you believe that Jesus will return? In
the Gospel, Jesus tells us that He will return and when He does He
will separate us into sheep and goats, depending on how much we
used our blessings to help those in need. So how strong is your
faith? The answer can be found in how much you give.

1st Reading: Acts 1:1-11
When he had said this, as
they were looking on, Jesus
was lifted up and a cloud took
him from their sight. While
they were looking intently at
the sky, suddenly two men
dressed in white garments
stood beside them. ‘Why are
you looking up into the sky,
Men of Galilee?’ they said.”
“Theophilius” may have been Luke’s sponsor, or a Roman official he sought to convert , or a symbolic name for “everyman.”
ACTS begins with the departure of Jesus and the arrival of the
Holy Spirit, who would animate and energize the early church,
most specifically Peter and Paul, who are profiled in this book.
Jesus gives his last-minute instructions to the apostles: not to
leave Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit
who will make them “witnesses throughout Judea and Samaria
to the ends of the earth.” As Jesus ascends into the heavens
above, the angels—almost humorously—tap the apostles on the
shoulders to remind them that now they’ve become the
“church.”
2nd Reading: Ephesians 1:17-23
May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know
what is the hope that belongs to his call…”
Paul prays that the followers come to appreciate the “mystery”
of their calling that is incomprehensible but part and parcel of
the mission of Jesus in his death, resurrection and ascending to
this throne in glory.
Gospel: Mark 16:15-20
“Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature...So then the Lord Jesus after
He spoke to them was taken up into heaven and took his seat at
the right hand of God.”
Jesus commissions his disciples to baptize in his name, reminding them that he is always present through his Spirit. Having
ascended to his Father amid cries of gladness, we are to be his
witnesses for we have been gifted with his Spirit of wisdom and
revelation. Let us therefore, live in a manner worthy of the call
we have received.

A SPECIAL CELEBRATION!........Because St. Mary of Czestochowa School, as we all knew it for decades, will cease to exist
in June of 2009 a special ceremony is being planned. Please
save the date of WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 at 7PM. to participate in a formal Mass of Celebration for the 100+ years that
the school served our parish and community.
After the Mass all will be invited to take a final walk through the
school classrooms, the library, etc. Refreshments will be served
in Makuch Hall. All alumni, faculty—past and present, children,
parents, parishioners and friends are invited. Please spread the
word about this special celebration!
This is a very difficult time for all involved, and we ask your
prayers for the children and their parents and especially for the
faculty and staff who are greatly affected by the closing of the
school. We look to God’s Providence to guide us now and in the
days ahead.
We extend a heartfelt Thank You to everyone that supported
our parish school over the years, with your time, talent and
treasure! May God reward and bless you!
The monthly pledge billings for the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal pledges have been mailed. It is very important that these pledges be paid so that our parish will reach and,
hopefully, exceed our goal. Once the pledge
payments have exceeded our goal, all of the additional funds
are returned to our parish for use in our parish ministries.

En aquel tiempo, se apareció Jesús a los Once y les
dijo: «Id al mundo entero y proclamad el Evangelio a
toda la creación.
El que crea y se bautice se salvará; el que se resista a
creer será condenado.
A los que crean, les acompañarán estos signos: echarán demonios en mi nombre, hablarán lenguas nuevas, cogerán serpientes en sus manos y, si beben un
veneno mortal, no les hará daño. Impondrán las manos a los enfermos, y quedarán sanos.»
Después de hablarles, el Señor Jesús subió al cielo y
se sentó a la derecha de Dios.
Ellos se fueron a pregonar el Evangelio por todas
partes, y el Señor cooperaba confirmando la palabra
con las señales que los acompañaban.
Significado
Los evangelistas describen al final de los evangelios y al principio del
libro de los Hechos de los
Apóstoles, que Jesús "fue
elevado al cielo", por lo
que los cristianos repetimos en nuestro Credo:
"Subió al cielo y está sentado a la derecha del Padre". Esta afirmación es
un modo de hablar para
decir que Jesús se fue al
Padre, llevando consigo
su naturaleza humana. La ida de Jesús al Padre constituyó nuestro cielo. Jesús, al ir al Padre, no entra en un
lugar, sino en una nueva dimensión, en donde no tienen sentido nuestras expresiones: arriba, abajo, subir,
bajar… Ir al cielo significa, ir a Dios. En el cielo, iremos a unirnos al cuerpo de Cristo resucitado todos los
que aceptamos su salvación.
Memorial Day
Este lunes, 25 de Mayo celebramos a todos los soldados que han
dado su vida por Los Estados Unidos de América. En nuestra iglesia
vamos a celebrar la única Misa en
este día a las 9:00 AM.

Deseamos avisar que el domingo, 31 de mayo después
de la misa a las 12:30 habrá
posibilidad de comprar la comida Mexicana. La preparación y la venta se llevara acabo en la plaza detrás del
templo. Toda la ganancia estará destinada para el
mantenimiento de nuestra Parroquia.
Invitación para la Vigilia
La comunidad del Espíritu Santo invita a participar en la Vigilia de
Pentecostés que se realizara en nuestra parroquia el 30 de mayo
(sábado). En el programa están previstas varias
actividades que nos ayudaran a vivir la presencia del Espíritu Santo y meditar sobre sus Dones.
El comienzo de la Vigilia esta previsto a las 6:30
P.M. La conclusión del encuentro esta previsto a
las 11.59 P.M

WNIEBOWSTĄPIENIE PAŃSKIE
Jezus ukazawszy się Jedenastu powiedział do nich:
„Idźcie na cały świat i głoście Ewangelię wszelkiemu stworzeniu. Kto uwierzy i przyjmie chrzest, będzie zbawiony; a kto nie uwierzy, będzie potępiony.
Tym zaś, którzy uwierzą, te znaki towarzyszyć będą:
W imię moje złe duchy będą wyrzucać, nowymi językami mówić będą; węże brać będą do rąk i jeśliby
co zatrutego wypili, nie będzie im szkodzić. Na chorych ręce kłaść będą i ci odzyskają zdrowie”.
Po rozmowie z nimi Pan Jezus został wzięty do nieba
i zasiadł po prawicy Boga. Oni zaś poszli i głosili
Ewangelię wszędzie, a Pan współdziałał z nimi i potwierdzał naukę znakami, które jej towarzyszyły.
Mk 16,15-20
Wniebowstąpienie jest wydarzeniem, które nie może być rozpatrywane w kategoriach naturalistycznych. Nie można np. zadać pytania:
“Gdzie konkretnie Jezus się udał?”
czy też pytania; “W jaki sposób
wstąpił do nieba?” lub “Gdzie jest
to niebo?” Tego rodzaju naturalistyczne widzenie jest po pierwsze
bezsensowne, a po drugie przesłania nam głębszy sens tego historiozbawczego wydarzenia. Sami
Ewangeliści nie umieją sobie z tym wydarzeniem poradzić
używając bardzo nieporadnych słów dla jego opisu: “Pan
Jezus został wzięty do nieba i zasiadł po prawicy Ojca“.
Nie chcą oni na pewno zdawać nam reporterskiego sprawozdania z niezwykłego faktu, ale przekazują inne, ważniejsze, historio-zbawcze prawdy takie jak:
• dana Mi jest wszelka władza – mówi o sobie Jezus, podkreślając swoje zbawcze posłannictwo,
• idźcie i nauczajcie wszystkie narody – poleca swoim
uczniom,
• udzielajcie Chrztu w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego
– ustanowienie Sakramentu Chrztu św.,
• Duch Święty zstąpi na was – obietnica zesłania i obecności Ducha Świętego,
• uczcie zachowywać moje przykazania – wiara musi być
potwierdzona życiem,
• zasiadł po prawicy Ojca – bo jest Równy Ojcu w Bóstwie,
• Ja jestem z wami aż do skończenia świata – mimo to nie
przestał być obecny wśród nas.

spraw emigracyjnych jak i wobec programów społecznym proponowanych przez rząd .
- sprzeciw wobec małżeństw homoseksualnych
- lęk przed komunistycznymi rządami innych krajów
- sprzeciw wobec jednego światowego rządu
- niezadowolenie z powodu utraty przez Stany Zjednoczone dominującej pozycji w świecie.

25 maja czyli w ostatni poniedziałek
maja przypada Dzień wdzięczności i
pamięci o tych, którzy w jakichkolwiek wojnach oddali życie za wolność
Ojczyzny.
W tym dniu będzie odprawiona tylko jedna Msza święta o
godz. 9:00 w intencji wszystkich poległych. Zapraszamy
na wspólnej celebracji.
Przypominamy, że w tym dniu Biuro Parafialne będzie
zamknięte.

Mamy już ostatni tydzień maja!
W tradycji polskiej miesiąc maj
jest poświęcony Najświętszej Maryi Pannie. W tym miesiącu składamy hołd Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do
Matki Bożej jak też rozważając
tajemnice różańca świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny
czy też przez udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej
pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć
tak jak żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.
W naszym kościele litania jest śpiewana 20 minut
przed rozpoczęciem Mszy św.

również i dzisiaj wychodząc z
kościoła można nabyć nowy
numer Tygodnika Katolickiego
„Niedziela”. Znajdziemy tam
bardzo ciekawe artykuły na
temat życia kościoła w Polsce
także naszej Archidiecezji.
Czytając ten tygodnik a także
inne publikacje np.:
„Różaniec”, „Anioł stróż”,
„Rodzina Radia Maryja” pogłębiamy naszą wiarę oraz miłość do Boga i Kościoła.
Jest także do wzięcia za darmo gazeta „Katolik” wydawana przez naszą Archidiecezję Chicago.
