Andrzeja Frycza Modrzewskiego 3 Cele przedmiotu Cel 1 The course is designed as a comprehenisve introduction to the problem of cultural dynamics and cultural assumption on human behaviour. The basic idea is that culture penetrates our inner being subconsciously and at a deep level. World cultures share many common features. Nevertheless, they all display a unique style when such common elements are combined together: kinship patters, education systems, valuation of the individual and the group, friendship patterns, time-related organizational patters, the criteria for aesthetic appreciation. 4 Wymagania wstępne 1 General knowledge about culture and business. 5 Modułowe efekty kształcenia MW1 The course adopts a cultural approach to international business and management and proposes to examine cultural variable, the components of culture, and models of cultural inter-actions. MW2 The theoretical approach is combined with an analysis of the cases of cross-cultural communication in business, marketing and management. The idea of the course is to provide the students with a method of dealing with intercultural situations in international marketing. MK3 The course material will be borrowed from several disciplines: cultural anthropology, sociology, social and cross-cultural psychology, and international marketing. It will provoke discussion which should center around the cultural assumption of behaviour. Teaching material will describe some case studies and the students will express their views on it and raise relevant issues.
