About the Polish Society of Radiation Oncology
Polish Society of Radiation Oncology (PSRO) was born in 1997 from the former Radiation Oncology
Division of Polish Society of Oncology (PSO).
PSRO collects approximately 400 full members and 100 young (under training) members - physicians,
physicists and biologists involved in radiation oncology.
Current PSRO President Professor Krzysztof Skladowski (Gliwice) has taken his cadence since 2012. Past
Presidents were: Professor Boguslaw Maciejewski (Gliwice) 2002-2012 and Professor Jan Skolyszewski
(Founding President, Krakow) 1997-2002. PSRO takes a part in the ESTRO National Societies Council
activity, as well as Educational Programmes.
From 18 years our mission is:
1. to enhance the practice of radiation oncology by promoting excellence in patient care,
2. to provide opportunities for educational and professional development,
3. to promote research and disseminating research results,
4. to represent radiation oncology in a health care environment and government authorities.
