kindly invites to participate in
the International Scientific Conference titled:
PROBLEMS OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
RURAL DIVERSITY IN EUROPE
20-21 June 2013 in Szczecin (Poland)
Topics of the conference:
- European regional cooperation:
operation of local and regional organizations, including the different EU countries, sustainable urban development,
innovation and environmental protection, knowledge-based economy, impact of cooperation on infrastructure,
cultural exchange between the EU countries, protection and promotion of local products;
- Activities of organizations in the context of globalization:
economic and social dimensions of globalization, impact of globalization on the operation of SMEs, new directions
and types of tourism, globalization and its manifestations, consumerism, public and non-profit organizations in the
context of globalization, activity of multinational companies, marketing and management problems;
- Rural development:
rural development funding under the RDP 2007-2013, trends in the CAP in the coming years, the assessment of the
activities of agricultural agency (intervention, trading agricultural land), quality of life, balanced and sustainable
development of rural areas, competitiveness of the agricultural and forestry sector, border areas in Europe.

The number of participants is limited - 50 people (in order of the submitted applications).
Publication of articles:
Submitted papers, after receiving positive reviews and meeting publishing requirements, will be published in:
1) Europa Regionum - articles in Polish
2) Foila Oeconomica - articles in English
NOTE: Each author may submit only one article.
Articles to Folia Oeconomica:
Please, send a long abstract in English before 31 May –
The abstract of approximately 2,500 characters including spaces (one page), TNR font 12, 1.5 spacing, standard
margins; should include the name of the author/s, affiliation with a mailing address and e-mail address, title of the
article and its main objectives, thesis / purpose, scope of research / analysis, main conclusions. Please, do not place
figures and tables in the summary, and do not organize the text in points.

Until 30 June please submit a full article, prepared in accordance with the requirements of Folia Oeconomica
Publishing (attached). If you are interested in sending an article in Polish, please write to Joanna Hernik
([email protected]).

Articles approved by the Editor of the Folia Oeconomica will be published in 2013.
Conference fees:
Full participation: 750 PLN (with accommodation;
Hotel Focus, Małopolska street 23) /
[750 PLN = 180 euro]
550 PLN (without accommodation) [550 PLN = 131 euro]
Publication of the article without participation:
500 PLN [500 PLN = 120 euro]
(please indicate the appropriate option in the
application form).
The fee of 750 PLN covers: night 20/21 June and
breakfast, set of conference materials, the cost of
publishing an article (subject to positive reviews),
meals and coffee breaks, cruise on the Oder, a gala
dinner.
The fee of 550 PLN covers: a set of conference
materials, the cost of publishing an article (subject to
positive reviews), meals and coffee breaks, cruise on
the Oder, a gala dinner.
Fees in Polish zloty (PLN) should be transferred to an account given below by 31 May 2013.
Costs of transfer are paid by a participant.
