Lech Brewery in Poznan, www.kp.pl. The Conference includes the following topics connected with three IIR Commissions: B1, B2 and C2. B1 – Heat and flow processes in refrigeration B2 – Energy efficient refrigerating equipments and systems C2 – Quality and safety assurance of chilled and frozen food 2008 was announced “The year of climate and environment” in Wielkopolska Region. This year in December the XIV conference session of UNO Convention will be held in Poznan in reference to the Convention from Kioto. The last session was held in December, 2007 on the Bali island. Our Conference was entered in the register of this year events connected with climate and environment protection. We invite authors to submit papers dealing with a broad range of topics from theoretical analysis through experimental works to practical applications with special consideration given to ecological aspects. Mroz - Poznan University of Technology THE CONFERENCE VENUE The Conference will be held in Poznan. It is the biggest city and capital of Wielkopolska Region. This city is located on the Warta river. It is a very significant research, cultural and industrial centre in Poland. www.poznan.pl Meteorite Reserve in Morasko and the Palm House. The latter is surrounded by a historic park and is one of the largest facilities of this type in Europe. Of European significance is also the modern Malta Lake Regatta Course surrounded by attractive recreation sites, for example an all-year-round skiing slope and a toboggan course. The Conference will be held in Mercure Hotel, which is located in the city centre near to PIF (Poznan International Fair Ltd.), Railway Station and the Old Market Square. This route leads through places of historical importance dating back to the beginning of the Polish State. It is a very interesting place for tourists. Poznan is still developing into a big industrial, cultural and amusement centre. Poznan has also one of Europe’s most vibrant and exciting nightlife cultures. Poznan has expanded an economic development among other things through an organization of fair. The Poznan International Fair (PIF) were organized here as early as in 1921. Thus, PIF is one of the European trade fair organizers with the longest history. Our events, comprising over 60 specialised exhibitions, often considered the leaders among European exhibitions, are addressed to over 140 industries. Cultural Poznan offers a great variety of theatres, a philharmonic hall, choirs and orchestras as well as many museums, galleries and exhibition halls. The city is the venue of several major festivals and music contests including the Malta International Theatre Festival, International Theater Festival MASKI, the Modern Dance Biennial, the International Sculpture Triennial and the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin and Violin Makers' Competition. Poznań attracts tourists with its countless historic sites and monuments. Among the most important of these is the unique complex of Renaissance buildings and the Town Hall in the Old Market Square. When submitting an abstract of paper authors should present the following: 1. Name and surname together with an academic degree, 2. A place of work (name of company or institution, position), 3. An address for correspondence including phone number, fax and e-mail. 4. The title and abstract of the paper. Conference papers may be sent in English or Polish. The official conference language will be English or Polish in consultation with conference organizers. PUBLICATION RULES Members of the Scientific Committee will review the abstracts. All of the approved papers will be delivered during the Conference, published and recorded on the CD-ROM. Participants of the Conference will receive the full set of conference documents.
