Isn’t that hard to believe? Does October 2016 seem like a long way off? Well, it’s really not. We need many, many volunteers to join in the planning meetings so we can plan a whole year of events leading up to the big celebration. 1ext meeting is Monday, June 29 at 6:30pm. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 2015 Vacation Bible School will be held in Liebrich Hall from July 27 thru July 31. Registration forms will be available in June at the entrances of church or in the rectory. Children from the ages of 3-4 to 10 are welcome. If you are a teen in need of service hours for Confirmation or high school we are looking for you also to volunteer at VBS. Religious Education classes have ended for this school year. We had 79 students in our program who went on a faith journey with Jesus. Their dedicated teachers shared their time, talents, and faith to help them learn about our faith. God bless our teachers who are dedicated volunteers. SCHOOL REGISTRATION IS GOING ON NOW! Registration for next year, Pre-3—8th grade is going on now. Stop by the office before school gets out. For information call the Principal, Mrs. Peggy Forgione at 773/637-5130 ext. 102. During the summer, the school will be open MondayThursday, 8AM-12PM from June 15th to August 14th. We had many students receive sacraments this year. There were 11 young teens who made their Confirmation in February with Bishop John Manz. There were also 20 who made their first Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion. All of our sacramental celebrations were beautiful and spiritual. We thank God for these young people and pray that they continue to grow as followers of Christ and responsible Catholics. New volunteers are always needed to work with our children. If you would like to share your time, talents, and faith, then Religious Education is for you. If you are interested, please call and leave your name and number at the school. Registration for the Fall classes begins after Labor Day. Children should attend classes all 8 years that they are in grammar school. St. William School has Summer Day Camp for children 6-14 years of age. Camp starts June 15July 31. The camp will run 6 weeks from 7am-6pm, Monday-Friday. Mary Klich is the Camp Director. Free tshirts for those who sign up. The camp has trips, arts and crafts projects, lots of sports and games: soccer, capture the flag, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, football, tumbling and more. All fees need to be paid in full before use of the camp including Morning Raccoons and Afternoon Lions. Please register in the school building with Mary Klich on Mondays-Thursdays from 3-6pm, at the Extended Day Program doors. Just ring the bell at the entrance of Newland and Wrightwood. Join us for fun in a safe place for the summer. RECTORY & SCHOOL SUMMER HOURS The Rectory will be closed in the evening starting June 1st on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 6:00—8:00pm. We will be open in the evening from the hours of 6:00—8:00pm on Monday & Wednesday only and Saturday from 10:00am—Noon. The Rectory will be closed all day on Friday’s beginning June 12. FATHER’S DAY MASSES You can find Father’s Day donation envelopes in back and middle of church. Just write down the names of your living and deceased dad’s and put your envelope in the basket on the altar of church. All father’s will be prayed for from Father’s Day until the end of June. No other mass intentions will be taken on Father’s Day. CALL EARLY FOR ANOINTING During June if you need an anointing of the sick, please call before the weekend, if possible. We have only one priest during June. Sunday, June 14, the day begins before the park opens, with Mass in the Grand Music Hall at 10:00 a.m. Our new Vicar General, Very Rev. Ronald Hicks, will be the celebrant. Come and celebrate this kick off for the Chicago events of the upcoming World Meeting of Families. Reduced rate tickets are $35 per person. Rity, zawiązuje się kolejna Róza Różańcowa, do której powinno należeć 20 członków, czyli tyle ile jest tajemnic różańcowyh. Każdy członek zobowiązany jest do codziennego odmawiania jednej dziesiątki różańca oraz spotkań, o ile jest to możliwe, w każdą pierwszą sobote miesiąca o godzinie 7:00PM. SUMMER TIME DRESS CODE FOR MASS Parishioners, Communion Ministers, Lectors and all who come to church or serve at church: Please during the summer remember that this is God’s House and dress appropriately. No shorts, tank tops or beach clothes. Dress nicely to visit the Lord. We take pride in our parish and in you. UROCZYSTOŚĆ BOŻEGO CIAŁA Uroczystość Bożego Ciała jest uczczeniem Boskiego Ciała i Krwi Chrystusa. Inicjatorką ustanowienia tej uroczystości była św. Julianna z Cornillon (1192-1258). Była ona przełożoną sióstr augustianek w Mont Cornillon w pobliżu Liege. W roku 1245 św. Julianna doznała objawień, w których Chrystus żądał ustanowienia osobnego święta ku czci Najświętszej Eucharystii. Zażyczył sobie także, aby był to czwartek po Uroczystości Trójcy Przenajświętszej. Dlaczego Czwartek? Otóż dlatego, iż to właśnie podczas Ostatniej Wieczerzy w Wieczerniku, która odbyła się jak wszyscy dobrze wiemy w Wielki Czwartek, Chrystus ustanowił sakrament Eucharystii, ofiarując swoje mistyczne Ciało i Krew. PIERWSZA PROCESJA EUCHARYSTYCZNA. Biskup Liege Robert de Thorte po dokładniejszym zbadaniu objawień św. Julianny postanowił spełnić życzenie Jezusa. W 1246 roku odbyła się pierwsza procesja Eucharystyczna. Jednakże w tym samym roku umiera biskup Robert, a wyższe duchowieństwo i teolodzy Liege potępili ten typ okazywania Chrystusowi czci i niemal nie oskarżyli Julianny o herezje oraz przenieśli ją karnie na inną placówkę na prowincji. Jednak na skutek interwencji archidiakona katedry w Liege Jakuba, który przedstawił sprawę kardynałowi Hugo, znowu zatwierdzono ten zwyczaj. Ten sam archidiakon Jakub, w 1251 roku poprowadził po raz drugi uroczystą procesję ulicami Liege. Co ciekawsze, archidiakon ten został za niedługo papieżem i przyjął imię Urbana IV. On też zatwierdził i wprowadził do Rzymu to święto, po cudzie Eucharystycznym w Bolsenie we Włoszech. CUD EUCHARYSTYCZNY. W 1263 roku pielgrzymujący do Rzymu ksiądz Piotr z Pragi zatrzymał się w Bolsenie. W czasie odprawiania Mszy św. Hostia w jego rękach zaczęła krwawić. Natychmiast pokazał to przebywającemu w Orvieto papieżowi Urbanowi IV, który wziął korporał na który spadły krople krwi, umieścił go w relikwiarzu w katedrze w Orvieto i ogłosił, iż miał miejsce cud eucharystyczny. Cud ten wpłynął na ogłoszenie w 1264 nowego święta: Ciała i Krwi Pańskiej "Bożego Ciała". WIELKI DAR. Uroczystość Bożego Ciała to jedno z najważniejszych świąt w Kościele. Jest to podziękowanie Jezusowi za dar Eucharystii, za to że daje się nam cały! Jezus obecny w Eucharystii nie tylko pozostaje zamknięty w tabernakulum, ale także jak śpiewamy w staropolskiej pieśni: „zagrody nasze widzieć przychodzi i jak się Jego dzieciom powodzi”.
