Our parish will celebrate 100 Years of being a parish
on October 2, 2016. Isn’t that hard to believe? Does
October 2016 seem like a long way off? Well, it’s
really not. We need many, many volunteers to join in
the planning meetings so we can plan a whole year of
events leading up to the big celebration. 1ext meeting is Monday, June 29 at 6:30pm. If you have fun
ideas, a little time and a lot of hope and appreciation
for this parish, come to the planning meetings!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING!
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 2015
Vacation Bible School will be held in Liebrich Hall
from July 27 thru July 31. Registration forms will be
available in June at the entrances of church or in the
rectory. Children from the ages of 3-4 to 10 are welcome. If you are a teen in need of service hours for
Confirmation or high school we are looking for you
also to volunteer at VBS.
Religious Education classes have ended for this
school year. We had 79 students in our program who
went on a faith journey with Jesus. Their dedicated
teachers shared their time, talents, and faith to help
them learn about our faith. God bless our teachers
who are dedicated volunteers.
For more info and to sign-up, please call 773-6376565, ext 50 and leave a message, we will return the
call. This summer let your children take a 5 day vacation with Jesus.

We had many students receive sacraments this year.
There were 11 young teens who made their Confirmation in February with Bishop John Manz. There
were also 20 who made their first Reconciliation and
their First Holy Communion. All of our sacramental
celebrations were beautiful and spiritual. We thank
God for these young people and pray that they continue to grow as followers of Christ and responsible
Catholics.
New volunteers are always needed to work with our
children. If you would like to share your time, talents, and faith, then Religious Education is for you.
If you are interested, please call and leave your name
and number at the school.

MODLITWA ZA OJCÓW
W tym miesiącu obchodzimy Dzień Ojca, który
przypada 21 czerwca.
i pamięć duchową. W związku z tym mamy na tę
okoliczność specjalne kopertki wyłożone na stolikach
w naszym kościele.
Możecie wpisać imiona swoich ojców, załączyć
ofiarę i wrzucić kopertę do koszyka przy ołtarzu. Za
wszystkich poleconych ojców będziemy modlić się
podczas każdej Eucharystii, począwszy od Dnia Ojca
do końca czerwca.

UROCZYSTOŚĆ BOŻEGO CIAŁA
Uroczystość Bożego Ciała jest uczczeniem Boskiego Ciała i
Krwi Chrystusa. Inicjatorką ustanowienia tej uroczystości
była św. Julianna z Cornillon (1192-1258). Była ona
przełożoną sióstr augustianek w Mont Cornillon w pobliżu
Liege. W roku 1245 św. Julianna doznała objawień, w
których Chrystus żądał ustanowienia osobnego święta ku czci
Najświętszej Eucharystii. Zażyczył sobie także, aby był to
czwartek po Uroczystości Trójcy Przenajświętszej. Dlaczego
Czwartek? Otóż dlatego, iż to właśnie podczas Ostatniej
dobrze wiemy w Wielki Czwartek, Chrystus ustanowił
sakrament Eucharystii, ofiarując swoje mistyczne Ciało i
Krew. PIERWSZA PROCESJA EUCHARYSTYCZNA.
Biskup Liege Robert de Thorte po dokładniejszym zbadaniu
objawień św. Julianny postanowił spełnić życzenie Jezusa. W
1246 roku odbyła się pierwsza procesja Eucharystyczna.
Jednakże w tym samym roku umiera biskup Robert, a wyższe
duchowieństwo i teolodzy Liege potępili ten typ okazywania
zatwierdzono ten zwyczaj. Ten sam archidiakon Jakub, w
1251 roku poprowadził po raz drugi uroczystą procesję
ulicami Liege. Co ciekawsze, archidiakon ten został za
niedługo papieżem i przyjął imię Urbana IV. On też
zatwierdził i wprowadził do Rzymu to święto, po cudzie
Eucharystycznym w Bolsenie we Włoszech. CUD
EUCHARYSTYCZNY. W 1263 roku pielgrzymujący do
Rzymu ksiądz Piotr z Pragi zatrzymał się w Bolsenie. W
czasie odprawiania Mszy św. Hostia w jego rękach zaczęła
krwawić. Natychmiast pokazał to przebywającemu w Orvieto
krople krwi, umieścił go w relikwiarzu w katedrze w Orvieto
i ogłosił, iż miał miejsce cud eucharystyczny. Cud ten
wpłynął na ogłoszenie w 1264 nowego święta: Ciała i Krwi
Pańskiej "Bożego Ciała". WIELKI DAR. Uroczystość
Bożego Ciała to jedno z najważniejszych świąt w Kościele.
w staropolskiej pieśni: „zagrody nasze widzieć przychodzi i
jak się Jego dzieciom powodzi”. Jezus wychodzi w procesji
na ulice i opłotki, aby błogosławić swoim wiernym, niech
więc i nam pobłogosławi w to piękne Jego Święto!
