The End is Coming
In today’s readings, the Church presents to us for reflection some passages from the apocalyptic literature.
Apocalyptic literature were the product of a time of persecution and mental anguish which attempts to
restore to those being persecuted the belief that God is still in control and shall intervene in their tribulations
by rewarding the righteous and punishing the wicked. It was meant to encourage good, discourage evil and
restore hope to the persecuted.
The first reading (Daniel 12:1-3) which is an apocalyptic literature is set within the context of oppression
by the Hellenistic kings against the Jews. When these kings invaded Palestine, they persecuted the Jews for
refusing to accept beliefs and practices that were totally against their faith. Though it appears to predict the
future, the author uses this style to figuratively interpret the events of his time and pass across a message of
hope to the oppressed.
The gospel reading (Mark 13:24-32) also belongs to the same apocalyptic literature. Mark was writing for
a community that was in darkness, distressed and persecuted on account of their faith. Many were martyred
and the rest were living in fears. He wrote to reassure them that Christ at the end will reign above all things
and that even if they die, that they shall be justified and glorified at the end while the wicked shall perish.
Today’s message is a message of hope, encouragement and joy and that is why the Church presents it to
us as we gradually come to the close of the liturgical year. The Church wants us to remember that despite
the difficulties we encounter in our daily lives which seem to question the presence of God that we should
not be afraid for the reign of God is close at hand. He is coming soon to deliver and reward the just while
the wicked will be eternally condemned. We can start now to prepare for it because no one knows the day
or the hour when Christ will come.

Food for the Poor Before Thanksgiving please remember those who are in need. Please bring to our church
all kinds of can foods, pasta or cereal, and place them at the side entrance of our church. A few days before
Thanksgiving that food would be delivered to the town of Boonton to Food Pantry.
20/20 Club Next dinner is scheduled for April 9, 2016. First drawing will begin Nov. 21/22, 2015.

Od Ks. Zbigniewa: Zapowiedz końca czasów
Dzisiejszy fragment Ewangelii ukazuje elementy apokaliptyczne (wojny, trzęsienia ziemi, głód, spadające
gwiazdy). To co istotne, ukryte jest głębiej, pod powierzchnią zdarzeń. Pewne jest to, ze Jezus przyjdzie na
ziemie powtornie. Prorok Daniel pisze:,„wielu, co posnęli w prochu ziemi, zbudzi się: jedni do wiecznego
życia, drudzy ku hańbie, ku wiecznej odrazie.” Jezus mowi: „o dniu owym lub godzinie nikt nie wie, ani
aniołowie w niebie, ani Syn, tylko Ojciec” (Mk 13,32). Nalezy nieustannie pamietac o slowach Jezusa:
„Jeśli się ktoś nie narodzi z wody i z Ducha, nie może wejść do Królestwa Bożego. To co się z ciała
narodziło, jest ciałem, a to, co się z Ducha narodziło, jest duchem” (J 3,5-6). W innym miejscu Jezus
powiedział: „To wam powiedziałem, abyście pokój we Mnie mieli. Na świecie doznacie ucisku, ale miejcie
odwagę: Jam zwyciężył świat” (J 16,33).

Diecezji, istnieje zobowiazanie do przygotowania ich do pracy parafialnej. Wasze uczestnictwo w tym

20/20 Club Następny obiad Klubu jest zaplanowany na 9 kwietnia 2016. Pierwsze „ciągnięcie” dla osoby,
która wygra $ 20 (w ciągu 20 tygodni) rozpocznie się za dwa tygodnie, 21/22 listopada.
