CF3 – Common flexible form factor for AirPrime® modules
SIERRA WIRELESS has developed the CF3 Common Flexible Form Factor as one unified form
factor and package for the HL and WP series of wireless modules. This allows full scalability
for applications, easily changing network technologies from 2G to 3G or 4G and also changing
between an “Essential” HL series module and a “Smart” WP series module.
This adds a new level of flexibility for embedded application development, as changing the module
series to adapt to different requirements is now possible without changing the hardware design.
SIERRA WIRELESS has also developed a special “Snap-In socket” for CF3 modules, which
allows easy replacement of the modules, especially for testing or small series production. For
large-scale production, the modules can also be soldered directly on the same PCB layout.

These modules support LTE, HSPA+ and EV-DO to address networks worldwide and are delivered
with a comprehensive set of SDKs and enabling software.
AirPrime® MC Series are standard PCI Express Mini Cards with a USB2.0 interface and industrial
specifications to simplify integration and provide an easy upgrade path to new network technologies.
MC73xx modules offer LTE connectivity based on the latest chipset with data speeds up to 100 Mbps
downlink and 50 Mbps uplink. They also feature LTE Quality of Service, voice capability and an
extended set of LTE bands covering worldwide operators.
MC9090 is a multimode HSPA+/EVDO module to switch from one operator to another in North
America with one single product reference. It has industrial temperature rating.
MC809x modules offer HSPA+ tri-band or dual-band connectivity for global deployments. They
also support voice and have industrial temperature rating.
MC870x modules support quad-band HSPA+ with up to 21 Mbps download speed. MC8704 also
support voice.
MC5728V is a CDMA/EV-DO module with voice support.
