Workshop „my dog makes wang wang. What about yours, daddy?“
We worked with two Multilingual Families activities for parents and an additional one.
The first activity was an interactive activity with the aim of language awareness. The task
was about to find the words and phrases in different languages which fit together and
make them think about in which countries those languages are used. After that we
presented some non-European languages and scripts. The task here was to suggest
which languages the scripts belong to. Participants knew neither the languages, the
scripts nor the meaning, so it was an interesting guessing game and all in all it was a very
nice task on dealing with languages.
The second activity was „my dog makes Wang (A14 of activity in parents material).
Participants were invited to tell about the sounds animals make in different languages.

In a next step we presented a video and did the activity „Tsjoe Tsjoe Wa- (A22 of activity

All participants joined in the dance with the mascot in the video. The most important
educational aspect of this activity was that you can follow instructions also in a language
you do not know or understand.
