Analiza i synteza właściwości świetlnych odbłyśników obrotowoobrotowo-symetrycznych metodą uporządkowanego śledzenia strumieni elementarnych W rozprawie autor postawił sobie za cel wykazanie możliwości zastosowania metody uporządkowanego śledzenia promieni świetlnych, wychodzących ze źródła światła, do przeprowadzenia analizy i syntezy właściwości świetlnych odbłyśników obrotowo-symetrycznych o dowolnym profilu. Praktyczna część pracy dotyczyła metodologii projektowania opraw oświetlenia ogólnego z diodami świecącymi LED o dużej mocy, które to zagadnienie pozostaje obecnie w centrum zainteresowania konstruktorów. Wyniki pomiarowe układów modelowych potwierdziły zarówno wystarczającą dokładność analiz prowadzonych z wykorzystaniem metody uporządkowanego śledzenia promieni, jak i przydatność prezentowanej metody w praktyce projektowej. Analysis and synthesis of lighting properties of rotationallyrotationally-symmetric reflectors using the method of ordered tracing of elementary luminous fluxes The main goal of this thesis was to prove the potential application of the method of ordered tracing of elementary luminous fluxes, originating from a light source, for conducting analysis and synthesis of lighting properties of rotationallysymmetric reflectors with arbitrary profiles. This process required conducting a series of analysis on the influence of numeric parameters on the precision of obtained results and their computation speed. In the elaborated method, the main weight of necessary calculations is related with determination of values of individual elementary luminous fluxed and reflection directions for individual rays. Despite the smaller assumed dimensions of the reflector surface (when compared with the classical method) and an increased number of calculations resulting from this fact, the calculation algorithms turned out to be much simpler and quicker. Once the initial digitization (the process which depends on the parameters of the examined system) of the reflector surface and the light source is done, the following steps are the same for all examined cases. Calculating values of all individual elementary luminous fluxes and their separation (based on reflection directions of their central rays) into complex, elementary solid angles results in determination of the complete luminous intensity distribution solid of the system at once. In the presented method, the author approximates the reflector surface using only conical elements. In the previously proposed calculation algorithms, such an approximation was used only in exceptional cases and only in luminaires with light sources with large light emitting surfaces. In such systems, the reflector shape has a secondary effect on the lighting properties of the luminaire. In other cases, approximation with conical elements resulted in a non-uniform luminous intensity distribution solid for the examined luminaire or the reflector profile. In this work, we proved that it is possible to analyse an arbitrary rotationally-symmetric system based on digitization of its surface into conical elements of appropriately small sizes. In the following stages of the work, we examined systems with an increasing level of complexity. First, the light source dimensions were disregarded, though various luminous intensity curves for the light sources were examined. In such a case, only the reflector surface was subject to the digitization process, since rays closely related with the elementary luminous fluxes - are emitted then from a single point. Next, systems with reflectors with surface with directional-dissipating properties were examined, using limited-angle dissipation effects. In the final stage of the work, calculations account also for real dimensions of the light sources: flat, circular, cylindrical and spherical ones. In the result of the conducted research, it was also concluded that calculations of very complex systems may under specific conditions be represented with calculations of much simpler systems, which take less time to converge. Reflectors with directional-dissipating properties and a small dissipation angle can be examined as a subtype of mirror reflectors. Real light sources might be replaced with point light sources, once that the dimensions of such a real light source are sufficiently small when compared with the dimensions of the examined reflector. Conclusions from the conducted analyses were used for synthesis of shapes of various rotationally-symmetric reflectors, implementing specific luminous intensity curves guaranteeing in turns a normative lighting uniformity. The proposed synthetic method of determining reflector shapes, in most generic terms, is based on comparing the luminous flux emitted by individual conical elements of the examined reflector with the luminous flux required to implement a specific lighting target. The practical part of this work was focused on methodology of designing general purpose lighting luminaires using high-power LED sources, which is currently one of the main points of interests of many designers and companies. The designed luminaire with a mirror reflector met all the necessary normative requirements. For practical reasons, it was decided to implement reflectors with surface with directional-dissipating properties. The normative requirements related with luminance limitation clearly indicate the average luminance value per luminaire and there were concerns that local mirror reflections might cause glare in observers. Models of reflectors with a directional-dissipating surface were manufactured, with three degrees of dissipation. The measurement results for the aforementioned models confirmed sufficient precision of analyses conducted using the method of ordered ray tracing as well as the applicably of the presented method in general design practice.
