Educational effects
Knowledge:
Acquiring knowledge about CAM systems supporting the process of virtual
prototyping and manufacturing. The student knows the advantages and limitations of
CAM software. Student has knowledge about virtual machines and software.
Acquiring knowledge of additive manufacturing Rapid Prototyping.
Skills:
The ability to design manufacturing machine parts using CAM system and the
application of knowledge in the field of virtual machines and software during virtual
prototyping.
The ability to apply knowledge of additive manufacturing (Rapid Prototyping).
Social competencies:
Ability to use technical concepts as well as thinking and acting in a creative way.

Examples of CAD / CAM software. Introduction to CAM systems and examples of
CAM software - information about CAM systems supporting the process of virtual
prototyping and manufacturing, the advantages and disadvantages of particular
programs.
Virtual machines - turning and milling on the example of Siemens software
(Sinumerik 840D).
Workpiece and tool probes - the application, advantages disadvantages
and their role in the manufacturing.
Additive manufacturing. Characteristics of methods for Rapid Prototyping.

Introduction to the subject, discussion on topics of classes, design using traditional
method and virtual prototyping. Preparing the model using Solid Edge / NX CAD
for use CAM systems (for further machining operations)
