Alcohol 2001;23:99–108. Streszczenie Dane piśmiennictwa wskazują, że zarówno etanol (alkohol etylowy), jak i związki niklu mogą wpływać na metabolizm niektórych podstawowych pierwiastków. Z tego względu podjęto badania dotyczące wpływu łącznego podawania etanolu i niklu na stężenie cynku (Zn), miedzi (Cu) i żelaza (Fe) w narządach szczurów. Etanol podawano w wodzie pitnej w stężeniu 5% przez 60 dni, a następnie 10% przez 30 dni. Nikiel stosowano jako roztwór Ni(II)Cl2 ·6 H2O (300 i 1200 ppm Ni). Oznaczenia wykonano przy zastosowaniu płomieniowej absorpcyjnej spektrofotometrii atomowej. Wyniki wskazują, że w porównaniu z grupą kontrolną zwierzęta eksponowane wypijały mniejsze objętości podawanych roztworów etanolu, niklu oraz mieszaniny tych związków. Poziomy Zn, Cu i Fe w narządach szczurów, którym podawano etanol, 300 ppm Ni oraz łącznie etanol i 300 ppm Ni były zbliżone do poziomów u zwierząt kontrolnych. Natomiast stężenie tych metali w niektórych narządach szczurów eksponowanych na 1200 ppm Ni uległo zmianie, ale w podobnym stopniu jak po łącznej ekspozycji na etanol i 1200 ppm Ni. U zwierząt tych grup poziom cynku i miedzi był obniżony głównie w nerkach, natomiast poziom żelaza uległ podwyższeniu w wątrobie i nerkach. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że w warunkach tego doświadczenia etanol nie wpływa istotnie na zmianę stężenia cynku, miedzi i żelaza w narządach szczurów eksponowanych na nikiel. 5.
