The course will focus on discussing the most recent and interesting
judgements of the European Court of Justice in the field of European law.
The judgements will be divided into the following groups and discussed
accordingly:

The institutional questions: (the choice of legal basis, inter-institutional
disputes, enforcement, EC liability)
The internal market questions, in particular regarding the horizontal direct
effect of the Treaty and the overriding principles of public interest
The competition questions, including the definition of state aid, the principle
of res iudicata, the abuse of dominant position, the notion of undertaking and
economic activity, the object or effect of restricting competition
The question of international obligations, in particular the relationship
between WTO and EC law, the UN resolutions, obligations to adapt Member
States' international agreements
