Publication of the conference proceedings: All papers sent for presentations during the plenary and parallel sessions will be reviewed and qualified by the Programming Committee. Abstracts (prepared in accordance with “Guidelines for Authors”) will be printed in the Conference Proceedings. Selected articles will be printed in journals: - Problemy Kolejnictwa (Railway Reports), - Prace Naukowe Politechniki Warszawskiej – Transport, - Archives of Transport, - Archives of Transport System Telematics. 5. Conference fee: 299 EUR per person* – accommodation in a single room, 275 EUR per person* – accommodation in a double room, 249 EUR per person* – without accommodation, 150 EUR for accompanying person*, 165 EUR per person* – additional fee per night 17-18, November in a single room, 039 EUR per person* – additional fee per night from 17-18, November in a double room. (* – incl. VAT) Car parking for conference participants is free of charge. Railway timetable and traffic: Substantive coordinator: Dr Andrzej Żurkowski • modern forms of train timetabling; • computer-based scheduling; • contemporary operational issues; • safety of railway traffic. 2. Rail transport infrastructure: Substantive coordinator: Dr Andrzej Massel • constructions of a superstructure of tracks and turnouts; • shaping of track geometries; • access to a railway infrastructure; • new technical solutions for tram and metro lines. 3. Traffic control and IT for railways: Substantive coordinator: Prof Mirosław Siergiejczyk • modern telecommunication solutions in the rail transport; • contemporary railway traffic control systems; • electromagnetic compatibility of traffic control systems and IT for railway applications; • issues of safety and reliability of traffic control systems and railway teleinformatics. 4. Traction and rolling stock: Substantive coordinator: Prof Andrzej Chudzikiewicz • modern, and efficient methods for transmission and distribution of electrical energy; • contemporary trends in design and construction of rail vehicles; • methods to improve cooperation between traction unit and power system; • assessments methods and rational consumption of energy for traction. 5. Materials engineering and recycling in the rail industry: Substantive coordinator: Dr Jolanta Radziszewska-Wolińska • new/modified materials and their properties; • new/modified manufacturing and processing technologies; • numerical design of manufacturing systems and materials; • new requirements and test methods for materials used in rail vehicles and infrastructure; • utilization of materials, vehicles recycling. 6. Transport organization and technology: Substantive coordinator: Prof Marianna Jacyna • freight logistics as an opportunity for development of rail transport; • opportunities and constraints of intermodal transport development in Poland; • intermodal transfer hubs; • improvement of cooperation between seaports and railway transport. 7. Certification in the rail transport: Substantive coordinator: Dr Marek Pawlik • entity certification vs. product certification in the rail transport; • essential requirements and their role in the unification of railway transport within European Union; • product certification processes for compliance with the European and national requirements; • safety assessment and subsystems certification.
