Thoughts from our Pastor
St. Paul says, "Whoever is in Christ is a new creation!" God doesn't want to just make a few cosmetic changes;
he wants to renovate us inside and out… Many people have the idea that you get to heaven by doing good
deeds. That was the attitude of the older son in today's parable. He thought he could demand his father's love:
"Look at all the things I have done. How hard I worked! And I never got anything it return. I expect some
credit."… But the older son had it wrong. No one can demand love. Nor can we earn love. In the same way, no
one can "earn" heaven. People today tend to look at heaven as one more entitlement program - like Social Security. You pay something into it and when you retire, you get the benefits. Heaven does not work that way….
The younger son, he understood what heaven means. He said, "Father I have sinned against heaven and
against you. I no longer deserve to be called you son." That boy knew he could not demand his father's love.
He could only receive it as a free gift…. The new creation involves much more than touching up the exterior
and sweeping out a few rooms. No, it is a complete renovation - a whole new interior. Heaven, after all, is a
relationship with God - through Christ - in the Communion of Saints. It requires a humbled heart - like that
younger son had, after he repented.

Według potocznej filozofii, ludzie dzielą się na dobrych i złych: dobrych trzeba szanować, chwalić i
nagradzać; złych piętnować, potępiać i karać. Na pozór jest to zgodne z zasadami religii i postulatami
sumienia, które mówi wyraźnie: czyń dobro, zła unikaj… Ale problem w tym, że utożsamia się w ten sposób
zło z grzesznikiem, potępia się człowieka, a nie jego postępowanie. Poza tym, dzieląc ludzi zbyt łatwo
potępiamy i przekreślamy innych, a usprawiedliwiamy siebie. A jeszcze na dodatek, przyklejając komuś
czarną etykietkę, przesądzamy o jego przyszłości, zakładamy, że taki już jest i będzie, odbieramy nadzieję i
chęć nawrócenia. .. I właśnie dlatego Jezus ułożył przypowieść o miłosiernym ojcu i dwóch synach. Pokazał w
niej, że Bogu zależy na każdym człowieku, nawet na przestępcy, bo Bóg każdego kocha. Bóg chce
nawrócenia i gruntownej wewnętrznej przemiany, a nie tylko wyroku skazującego dla grzesznika…
Przypowieść dzisiejsza o Synu Marnotrawnym adresowana jest do dwóch klas ludzi: synów marnotrawnych ludzi z marginesu, tych, którzy pobłądzili, popełnili w życiu niewybaczalne błędy, czują się przekreśleni i
odrzuceni; oraz do owych „porządnych" braci, którym życie oszczędziło kompromitacji, katastrof i nałogów, a
pobłogosławiło pracowitością, powodzeniem i dostatkiem…. Jezus daje wyrzutkom nadzieję, że mogą
zmienić swoje życie, że grzeszna przeszłość - choć ich surowo naznaczyła, to jednak nikogo ostatecznie nie
przekreśla i nie determinuje przyszłości. Natomiast „porządnym" Chrystus chce uświadomić potrzebę pokory,
współczucia, miłosierdzia i solidarności z nawracającymi się grzesznikami.

San Pablo dice, "El que vive segun Cristo es una criatura nueva." Dios no quiere hacer unos pocos cambios
cosmeticos; quiere renovarnos adentro y afuera…. A veces tenemos la idea que se puede ser salvado por hacer
cosas buenas. Eso fue la actitud del hijo mayor en la parabola de hoy. Pensaba que podia exigir el amor del
padre. "Mira todas las cosas que hecho. Que duro he trabajado! Y no recibi nada. Merezco algo."… Pero el
hijo mayor estaba equivocado. No podemos exigir el amor. Igualmente, nadie puede exigir el cielo. El cielo es
una relacion con Dios - por Cristo - en la Comunion de los Santos. El cielo no es como Seguro Social: se
trabaja duro, se paga los mensuales; entonces al cumplir sesenta y cinco ańos, lo tienes por derecho. El cielo
no es un derecho…. El hijo menor entendia que es el cielo. Dijo, "Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y contra ti;
ya no merezco llamarme hijo tuyo." Ese muchacho sabia que no podia exigir el amor del padre. Solamente se
puede recibirlo como don gratis…. Escuchamos otra vez a San Pablo: "En Cristo, Dios reconcilio al mundo
consigo y renuncio a tomar en cuenta los pecados de los hombres." Cuando aceptamos ese regalo, dice San
Pablo, llegamos a ser una criatura nueva…. Ser nueva criatura significa mucho mas que mejorar el exterior y
limpiar unos cuartitos. No, es una renovacion completa - un interior enteramente nuevo.

THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH
To obey in faith is to submit freely to the word that has been heard, because its truth is guaranteed by God, who is
Truth itself. Abraham is the model of such obedience offered us by Sacred Scripture. The Virgin Mary is its most
perfect embodiment.
The letter to the Hebrews, in its great eulogy of the faith of Israel's ancestors, lays special emphasis on Abraham's
faith. By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance,
and he went out, not knowing where he was to go. By faith, he lived as a stranger and pilgrim in the promised land.
By faith, Sarah was given to conceive the son of the promise. And by faith Abraham offered his only son in sacrifice.

WIERZĘ- POSŁUSZEŃSTWO WIARY
Być posłusznym w wierze oznacza poddać się w sposób wolny usłyszanemu słowu, ponieważ jego prawda została
zagwarantowana przez Boga, który jest Prawdą. Wzorem tego posłuszeństwa, proponowanym nam przez Pismo św.
jest Abraham. Dziewica Maryja jest jego jajdoskonalszym urzeczywistnieniem.
List do Hebrajczyków, głosząc wielką pochwałę wiary przodków, podkreśla w sposób szczególny wiarę Abrahama;
"Przez wiarę ten, którego nazwano Abrahamem, usłuchał wezwania Bożego, by wyruszyć do ziemi, którą miał objąć
w posiadanie. Wyszedł nie wiedząc, dokąd idzie. Przez wiarę żył jak cudzoziemiec i pielgrzym w Ziemi Obiecanej.
Przez wiarę Sara otrzymała moc poczęcia syna obietnicy. A w końcu przez wiarę Abraham złożył w ofierze swego
jedynego syna.

Obedecer en la fe, es someterse libremente a la palabra escuchada, porque su verdad esta garantizada por Dios, la
Verdad misma. De esta obediencia, Abraham es el modelo que nos propone la Sagrada Escritura. La Virgen Maria es
la realizacion mas perfecta de la misma.
La carta a los Hebreos, en el gran elogio de la fe de los antepasados, insiste particularmente en la fe de Abraham.
Por la fe, Abraham obedecio y salio para el lugar que habia de recibir en herencia, y salio sin saber a donde iba. Por
la fe, vivio como extranjero y peregrino en la Tierra prometida. Por la fe, a Sara se otorgo el concebir al hijo de la
promesa. Por la fe, finalmente, Abraham ofrecio a su hijo unico en sacrificio.

Congratulations need to be given to 3 of our 8th grade students in the Class of 2010. Peter Navarro has earned the
Daniel Murphy Scholarship from the Big Shoulders Fund. Peter has been accepted at Brother Rice High School.
Also, Agustin Fernandez and Samantha Maslona have been accepted at St. Ignatius College Prep High School. Over
900 students tested at St. Ignatius, and only 360 were accepted. St. Bruno School is very proud of these three 8th
grade students as well as all of our other 8th graders. Dan Fleming
Składamy sewrdeczne gratulacje dla 3 uczniów z klasy 8 z roku nauczania 2010. Piotr Navarro otrzymał stypendium
z Shoulders Fund. Piotr został przyjęty do Brother Rice High School. Także Augustyn Fernandez i Samantha
Maslona, zostali przyjęci do St. Ignatius College Prep High School. Ponad 900 studentów było egzaminowanych w

CONTRIBUTIONS
Now that income tax time is
here we would like to remind
you that a year-end statement
of contributions for 2009 is available from the rectory.
Please contact the rectory by phone or email with your
request and provide your envelope number as well as
your name and phone number.
BAPTISM
Please call the rectory to make arrangements. All parents and
godparents are required to register for and attend a Baptismal
Preparation session. English Baptisms are on the first Sunday
after the 9.00AM or 12.15PM Mass. Polish Baptisms are on
the second Sunday after the 10.30AM Mass. Spanish
Baptisms are on the third Sunday after the 2:30 PM Mass.
MARRIAGE Call the rectory to make arrangements at least
8 months in advance. Your date will be confirmed at the first
meeting with priest or deacon. Pre-Cana conferences are
required.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK AND COMMUNION
CALLS
Please call the rectory to have a priest come for the sacrament
of the sick. If you have been hospitalized or are homebound
and wish a Minister of Care to bring you Communion, please
call the rectory.

Chrzty w języku angielskim udzielane są w pierwszą

12.15PM. Chrzty w języku polskim udzielane są w drugą
niedzielę miesiąca w czasie Mszy św o godz 10.30 AM.
Chrzty w języku hiszpańskim udzielane są w trzecią niedzielę
miesiąca w czasie Mszy św. o godzinie 2:30PM.
MAłŻEŃSTWO.Prosimy dzwonić na plebanie conajmniej 8
miesięcy przed planowanym ślubem.Data ślubu bedzie
ustalona podczas pierwszego spotkania z księdzem lub
diakonem.Wymagana jest precana czyli kurs
przedmałżeński..
KOMUNIA ŚW I SAKRAMENT CHORYCH.
Prosimy dzwonić na plebanie aby prosić księdza o sakrament
chorych .Jeśli ktoś jest w szpitalu i potrzebuje ministrów
eucharysti prosimy również dzwonić na plebanie.

W każdą sobotę o godz 4.00 PM do godz.4.45 PM
W ciągu tygodnia po Mszy św o godz.7.00 AM
W każdy czwartek od godz.3.00 PM do godz. 4.00 PM oraz
5:00 PM do godz 6:00 PM
BAUTISMO. Por favor llamar a la rectoria para organizar
bautismo. Los Padres y Padrinos necesitan estar registrados
para classes bautismales. Bautismo son cada tercer domingo a
las 2:30 PM
LAS BODAS. Por favor llamar a la rectoria 8 meses antes de
la boda. Durante la primera reunion con el Padre o Diacono,sera confirmada la fecha de la boda. Necesitan una
precana para poder casarse.
SACRAMENTO DE ENFERMOS Y COMUNION. LLamar a la rectoria para desirle al sacerdote que si puede venir.
Si usted esta hospilizado o en la casa y necesita que vaya un
ministro de comunion,por favor llamar a la rectoria.
