MEET THE ARTISTS
The 2015 Green Festival has received funding from the Arts
Council. This support has enabled us to develop a fantastic
arts element to this year’s event in order to showcase
sustainability issues in innovative and engaging ways. Read on
to discover more.
Green Festival Poet in Residence
Keely Mills is a poet, creative
producer and, in her own words,
a ‘bit of a show off’...
Keely will become the unofficial poet in
residence for all buses in Peterborough
as part of the Green Festival 2015.
She will be writing poetry inspired by
the journeys she takes and
the people she meets,
highlighting the routes
that keep the heart of
the city pumping.
This work will then
be recorded into a
sound installation
with the help of
Beat This.
This sound
installation will
be played in several
surprising places during
the festival week and
online. So keep your eyes
open for a poet on a bus and
your ears ready for the recorded
results where you least expect it.
Walk This Way
Sat 23 May, 12noon-4pm
This project will take you through a popup gallery, art installation, and strange
and wonderful events in unexpected
places, with unusual characters leading
unpredictable guided tours hourly.
Be prepared to be astonished
by the city you live in
through its vivid
stories, wonderful
journeys and best
kept secrets.
This event
is hosted by
Creative
Peterborough.
Walk This
Way has been
developed as part of

Presents programme

Stuart Payn
Tom Fox
Local artist Stuart Payn will be
creating a sculpture for display in
Cathedral Square on the Green
Festival Launch Day: Saturday
23 May.
This interactive sculpture will be made
from recycled and found wood, and will
bring to focus the phrase “think globally,
act locally”.
Visitors will be able to interact with
the piece and discover new ways of
understanding their own place and role in
environmental awareness and action.
In addition to this, visitors to the
installation will have the chance to take
something home with them.
