Wsparcie udzielone przez Norwegię poprzez dofinansowanie ze środków Norweskiego Mechanizmu Finansowego Supported by a grant from N orw ay through the N orw egian Financial M echanism Internal order No. 2 / 2010 The PL 0302 Project, enhanced within its framework of the artificial dams examination, will be completed till 30 of November 2010. In order to guarantee its full realization, Provincial Inspectorate of the Environmental Protection in Cracow branch offices in Tarnów and Nowy Sącz will conduct the examination of water samples in dams in the scope of biological elements, physicochemical and chemical indicators (the priority indicators). Department of the Environmental Monitoring in Nowy Sącz deputes its Environmental Research Workroom to conduct examinations according to the program given below Water dams examination program for 2010 Objectives: 1. Implementation of the biological research methods within water dams. 2. Diagnosis of the priority substances and assessing the chemical status of the water reservoirs. Water dams (reservoirs) pointed out for examination: 1. Dobczycki Reservoir – created by the Raba River waters which backed up in the 60.1 kilometres. The water dam is located in the Wielickie foothills belonging to Zachodniobeskidzke foothills, stretching between Myślenice and Dobczyce towns. Its basic functions are: reservoir of drinking water for Cracow City and nearby situated communes, reduction of flood tide in the downstream of Raba, as well as, electricity generation. Measuring-check points location on the Dobczycki Reservoir: a)Dobczycki Reservoir – at Droginia town level (belonging to Myślenice): surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached No. 2.3 and 7.. b) Dobczycki Reservoir – above the barrier: surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached No. 2.3 and 7.. Czchowski Reservoir – located in the middle reach of Dunajec River, created to equalize the water level within Rożnowski Reservoir. The water input in the Czchowski Reservoir comes mainly from Dunajec and Łososina Rivers. It represents reolimnical type of reservoir, the time of water exchange 1.3 day (according to Dr. Jan Błachuta). Measuring-check points location on the Czchowski Reservoir: c) Czchów Reservoir – at the Będzieszyna town level: biological elements examination in the scope of: chlorophyll „a”, phytoplankton, fitobentos, benthic invertebrates. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached to No. 4, 5, 6 d)Czchów Reservoir – above the barrier: surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached to: No. 2.3 and 7 Projekt nr PL0302 „Wzmocnienie kontroli przestrzegania prawa w zakresie ochrony i wykorzystania zasobów wodnych w województwie małopolskim” Wsparcie udzielone przez Norwegię poprzez dofinansowanie ze środków Norweskiego Mechanizmu Finansowego Supported by a grant from N orw ay through the N orw egian Financial M echanism Fig. 2 Check points location – Czchowski Water dam. 3. Rożnowski Reservoir – formed by Dunajec River waters which backed up in the 80.0 kilometres, in so-called third breakthrough of Dunajec. It has been exploited since 1942, located within Rożnowskie foothills. It represents transition type of reservoir, time of water exchange - 31.4 days (according to Dr. Jan Błachuta). It has a comprehensive nature with 3 basic functions: flood prevention, energy generation and recreational purposes. Measuring-check points location on the Rożnowski water dam: a) Rożnowski reservoir – at the Bartkowa town level: biological elements examination in the scope of: chlorophyll „a”, phytoplankton, fitobentos, benthic invertebrates. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached to No. 4, 5, 6 b) Rożnowski reservoir – at the Lipie town level (water dam’s transition zone) surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached to: No. 2.3 and 7 c) Rożnów Reservoir – above the barrier (dam’s lake zone): surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. 3 Check points location – Roznowski water dam. 4. Czorsztyński Reservoir – located in the catchment area of the upper Dunaje, in the eastern part of the Nowy Targ Valley, collects the waters of Dunajec and Białka Tatrzańska. Its main function are: retention, flood prevention, energy generation and recreational purposes. It represents limnetic type of reservoir, time of water exchange - 116 days (according to Dr. Jan Błachuta). Measuring-check points location on the Czorsztyński water dam: a) Czorsztyński Reservoir – at the Frydman town level: biological elements examination in the scope of: chlorophyll „a”, phytoplankton, fitobentos, benthic invertebrates. The scope of research and sampling dates have been attached to No. 4, 5, 6 b)Czorsztyński reservoir – at the Maniowy town level (dam’s transition zone) surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators. The scope of research andsampling dates have been attached to: No. 2.3 and 7 c) Czorsztyn Reservoir – above the barrier (dam’s lake zone): surface and over the bed layer being under investigation in the scope of physicochemical and priority indicators.
