ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH IN ŻUKOWO
St. John the Baptist Church with its characteristic half-timbered steeple is
usually paid less attention by tourists coming to Żukowo, its main attraction
being the local Convent Church. Recently restored to its ancient beauty,
however, St. John the Baptist Church is likewise worth a visit. The church was
first mentioned in the 13th century, when it used to be the Parish church of
Żukowo. Destroyed in the 15th century during the Hussite Wars, it remained a
ruin for years. Finally rebuilt in the 17 th century it received its beautiful
Baroque interior.
