Praca przedstawia badania dotyczące strukturalnego i mechanicznego aspektu zjawiska bliźniakowania w materiałach regularnie ściennie centrowanych. Równomierne ścięcie sieci jakiemu podlega osnowa podczas bliźniakowania, prowadzi do transformacji płaszczyzn i kierunków oraz utworzenia obszaru o nowej orientacji krystalograficznej. W oparciu o metodę macierzy korespondencji obliczono zmiany jakim zostaną poddane płaszczyzny poślizgu oraz wektory Burgersa dyslokacji poślizgowych. Transformacje te, w powiązaniu układem dyslokacji powstałym w wyniku działania biegunowych źródeł dyslokacyjnych, będą prowadziły do wzrostu własności mechanicznych obszaru bliźniaka. Affect of deformation twinning on mechanical properties and dislocation structure in FCC single crystals. The work presents experimental investigation on mechanical twinning in FCC latices. Once activated, twinning deformation shears homogeneously region of matrix leading to formation of the differently oriented łattice. Structural defects existing inside the crystal lattice undergo transformation to new configurations. Proper mathematical description of this phenomena is provided by correspondence matrix. Formation of specific dislocation arrangement during twin pole source operation in connection with the transformation of the dislocation structure leads to substantial increase of mechanical properties of the twinned region. The aim of this work was to provide the additional experimental proves related to correctness of the correspondence matrix in application to real defected materials. Transmission electron microscope was used to identify a "cubic" dislocation which can be generated only during the twinning process in the FCC lattices. Its existence is in full agreement with predictions of the correspondence matrix. The additional experimental procedure was conducted to investigate strengthening of the material during the mechanical twinning. Latent hardening experiment was applied in order to activate different twinning systems for the same initial dislocation substructure. In each case microhardness measurements showed increase in hardness of the twin with respect to the matrix region.
