Japonia – świat przenikających się
kontrastów pozostaje nadal niezwykle
tajemniczy i przez to fascynujący, oferując
niezliczone okazje do gromadzenia
ciekawych obserwacji i fotograficznych
impresji. Liczne podróże pozwoliły
Małgorzacie Olejniczak na odkrycie tego
zagadkowego i wciąż intrygującego kraju.
Wystawa fotograficzna „Made in Japan” to
wynik jej kilkudziesięciu pobytów w Japonii
w latach 2000–2006, które umożliwiły
artystce zebranie bardzo bogatego materiału
fotograficznego. Zdjęcia stanowią część
cyklów takich jak „The double life of
Architecture”, „Urban Anatomy”
i „Heisei views of Mount Fuji” jako hołd dla
Katsushika Hokusai, japońskiego mistrza
drzeworytów.
Zdjęcia Małgorzaty Olejniczak przybliżają
ten bardzo odległy kraj wraz z jego silnymi
tradycjami, które w jedyny w swoim rodzaju
sposób współistnieją z nowoczesnością
i niezwykłym pędem do oryginalności na
wielu płaszczyznach.
Fotografie Małgorzaty Olejniczak są z jednej
strony potwierdzeniem naszych wyobrażeń,
a z drugiej zaś – niespodzianką.
Małgorzata Olejniczak, ur. w Szczecinie,
studiowała muzykę w Warszawie i w Paryżu.
Już od najmłodszych lat zajmuje się sztuką
fotografii. Jej dwie największe pasje to
podróżowanie i utrwalanie otaczającego
świata na fotograficznej kliszy. Swój dorobek
prezentowała dotąd głównie w Szwajcarii.

The exhibition will be open till 20 May 2007
Japan – a world of mutually pervasive
contrasts – still remains extremely mysterious
and therefore fascinating, offering
innumerable opportunities for accumulating
interesting observations and photographic
impressions. Extensive travels enabled
Małgorzata Olejniczak to discover this puzzling
and still intriguing country for herself.
The exhibition of photographs Made in Japan
is the fruit of her several dozen trips to Japan
in the years 2000–2006, which enabled
the artist to gather plentiful photographic
material. The photos come from several series,
such as “The Double Life of Architecture”,
“Urban Anatomy” and “Heisei Views of Mount
Fuji”, a tribute to Katsushika Hokusai,
a Japanese woodblock print master.
Małgorzata Olejniczak’s photographs brings
us closer to this very distant country with its
strong traditions, which coexist in a unique
manner with modernity and an extraordinary
inclination towards originality in a number of
areas of human endeavour.
On the one hand, Małgorzata Olejniczak’s
photographs confirm our visions of Japan,
and then on the other, they can be quite
surprising.
Małgorzata Olejniczak, born in Szczecin,
studied music in Warsaw and Paris. She has
practiced the art of photography since early
childhood. Her two most interesting passions
are travelling and recording the world on
the photographic film. Until now, she has
exhibited her work mostly in Switzerland.
