Przy temperaturze badania 950°C (maksymalnej temperaturze pracy) zanika wpływ modyfikacji stopów na wartości wydłużenia zarówno dla strefy kryształów kolumnowych jak i równoosiowych Effect of structure on the mechanical and plastic properties of modified Ni32-Cr25-Nb cast steel High heat and creep resistance combined with resistance to the effect of chemically active media are the properties due to which the Ni-Cr-Nb steels are applicable in the manufacture of centrifugally cast catalytic pipes, assigned for operation in the installations used by chemical and petrochemical industry. The most recently developed family of Ni-Cr-Nb cast steels for high-temperature performance includes the cast steel with 32% Ni, 25% Cr, and 1% Nb (32Ni-25Cr-Nb). Since high plastic and mechanical properties of this alloy at temperatures of 820 and 950°C are very important for the operating time and temperature of such pipes, various investigations have been carried out to detemine what effect at these temperatures the content of Ti, Zr and V as well as Ce may have on the level of ductility and strength in the zone of columnar and equiaxial crystals. Different microstructures of the centrifugally cast steel affect the mechanical and plastic properties. Basing on the results of the mechanical tests carried out at 820°C it has been observed that an addition of inoculants introduced to the alloy considerably changes the values of elongation, and this only in the zone of columnar crystals (in these alloys the values of elongation in the zone of equiaxial crystals do not undergo any more significant changes). The observed changes in ductility and strength are due to: − first – the changing morphology of eutectic niobium carbides in the presence of inoculants (from lamellar they are converted into globulal), − second – the content of Nb and Cr carbides changing in the examined alloys after different variants of inoculation. At the temperature of 950°C (the maximum operating temperature), the effect of alloy inoculation on the values of elongation in the zone of both columnar and equiaxial crystals disappears.
