Electrical Engineer - Rotating Machines Energy Connections – Power Conversion – Rotating Machines We are looking for fresh graduates! Employer Description Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe. Role Summary / Purpose The Power Conversion Rotating Machines Engineering Team is responsible for the design and engineering of machines such as generators and motors and the associated excitation control, protection and synchronization systems, delivering optimized and safe solutions. The Electrical Engineer in the GE Energy Connections Power Conversion will be focused on all electrical aspects related to electromagnetic design, analysis and application of electric motors and power generators. Responsibilities Engineering activities related to conceptual, preliminary & detail design and electromagnetic analysis, as well as verification and testing of electric motors and power generators from electrical point of view Timely delivery of required technical documentation for the assigned tasks, assuring consistence with project scope and engineering practices; participate as a presenter in technical and program review Interface with System Engineer or Program Manager, Testing, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Customers and component/system vendors related to electrical discipline Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments Qualifications / Requirements Electrical Engineering degree in the area of electric motors and power generators Understanding of FEM engineering tools in the aspects related to design of electric motors and power generators Good command of both spoken and written English Ability to work independently, under pressure and changing requirements Problem-solving skills, passion for learning Strong detail focus and product definition quality Candidate should be a person able to demonstrate self-reliability, initiative, pro-activity Nice-to-have Knowledge of Electric Motors and Generators systems Engineering experience in electric machines area Ability to design an electric machine from the scratch Knowledge of European and International standards and regulations related to Electrical Machines Practical knowledge of electrical software (FEM) Programming skills (VBA, MATLAB) will be an advantage Employer Offers Position in international environment with the possibility of professional skills development Travels to Suppliers/Overhaul Shops/Engineering Sites located all over the world Possible training in other GE locations worldwide Wide scope of extra benefits for employees and their families, including private healthcare and extra life insurance State-of-the-art tools Access to modern technologies Friendly atmosphere Interesting and challenging projects Competitive salary Please apply by sending your CV to [email protected] including ref. no.
