SECOND COLLECTION CHRISTMAS DAY
At all the Christmas Masses, a second collection
will be taken up for your gift to the parish. An
envelope for the collection was mailed to every
registered household. Extra envelopes are at the
back of the church. Please know that every gift is
greatly appreciated.
SANCTUARY LAMP INTENTION
The living flame of the Sanctuary Lamp, signifying
the Eucharistic presence of our Lord Jesus Christ,

ATTENTION ALTAR SERVERS
THIS Sunday, December 18, all parish altar
servers are invited to attend the 3:00 pm
Divine Mercy Devotion and then to gather in
the Church Hall afterwards to share Oplatki
in the tradition of Wigilia (Christmas Eve).
The Devotion is in English and Polish.
MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA/MASS
The rosary is prayed at 6:45 pm every Monday
before the Miraculous Medal Novena and Mass and
also on Wednesdays in Polish at the 7:00 pm Novena
and Mass. All are welcome to attend.
OPLATKI – CHRISTMAS WAFERS
Oplatki, Christmas Wafers, are
available at the Parish Office or in
the Sacristy after Mass.
A
donation is kindly requested.
CHRISTMAS CARDS/ POLISH KOLENDY
CD’s may be purchased in the Sacristy after Mass.
Proceeds benefit the Altar Servers.

**SOUPER BOWL SUNDAYS** Once
again the CCD Program will be collecting
cans of soup for St. Vincent DePaul and
Spooner
House/Valley
Food
Banks
beginning the week of January 8 through
February 5. Place your cans of soup in the
boxes at the back of the Church and help the
students in this project which in turn helps the
food banks distribute a warm meal to those in
need.

ALTAR SERVER MINISTRY
Fr. Jan is training new altar servers and
invites boys and girls of the parish to
contact him if they are interested in this
parish ministry.
This is a great
opportunity to serve the Lord and our
parish.
DIOCESE/COMMUNITY NEWS
St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Shoppe & Food Bank,
237 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, Mondays through
Saturdays, 9:30am – 2:30pm. Donations of nonperishable food and gift cards to local grocery stores
will be very much appreciated for the Christmas
Season. Donations should be made by Dec. 20.
Catholic War Veterans, St. Michael’s Post #1562
6:30pm, pasta dinner, salad, bread, dessert, followed
by a movie. Next dinner, Tuesday, January 10, $6
per person. No reservations are required.
Life Line Screening: it’s a few months away, but
keep in mind that the Parish will be hosting a Life
Line Screening event Mar. 8 in our Church Hall.
Information will be available in January.
Free rosary repair: broken rosaries can be sent in a
padded envelope to Betty and Dick Holden until
April at 7930 Estero Blvd., Apt. 502, Fort Myers
Beach FL33931. Include a note to return to sender
or if it is a donation to be sent on to the missions. For

Archdiocesan Catholic Bible School: if you want
to delve deeper into the meaning of God’s gift to us
at Christmas, consider learning more about the Bible
School.

Master’s Table Free Community Meals: Dinner,

…BOXES OF 2017 OFFERTORY
ENVELOPES Anyone still wishing to have
a box of envelopes for next year should call
the parish office.
…PARISH OFFICE HOURS are Mondays
and Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm,
Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to
1:30 pm. The office is closed on Fridays and
holidays. Also, during the winter months
the Parish Office may be closed during
inclement weather. In questionable weather
please call ahead to see if it is open.

NO. If you have moved in the past few
months, please inform the Parish Office
of your new address and phone number if
it has changed. A few letters from our
Christmas mailing were returned with
forwarding addresses. We appreciate
your help in keeping our parish records

PRAYER SHAWL
MINISTRY
Prayer shawls, lap blankets,
baby hats and blankets were
recently delivered to Team,
Birthright, and to the Cancer
Center at Griffin Hospital. If anyone would like to
donate yarn for these projects it would be greatly
appreciated. Donations may be left anytime on the
back porch of the Rectory. The ladies meet on
Tuesday mornings in the Rectory from 10:00 am
until noon. Anyone who would like to join them is
very welcome!
ST. MICHAEL CEMETERY
Please remember that grave blankets are
not permitted at the cemetery.
Christmas decorations may remain on
the graves until the end of February
when they will be removed by
Cemetery staff (if you wish to save your decorations
please remove them before the end of February –
weather permitting). Thank you.
