KONKURS DAY BY DAY The first-prize winner’s diary 10.06.06; 11:09 5 I got out of the bus four stops earlier today, just in the place which everyone consider the end of the world. Fields, allotments, rather neglected corners... I wasn’t in rush, the sun was shining and the sky was perfect blue. I wanted to walk, I wanted to sing in the fresh air. I was striding with flapping leather coat on my shoulders, with the most dangerous version of the bandanna on my head, hair glancing unruly out of it, in my favorite black shirt, headphones in my ears, there was a dangerous look in my eyes... And suddenly I felt so good. So peaceful, light and cheerful. I looked up and my lips simply had to smile. I looked around and almost couldn’t believe in what I saw. I’m sure they’d see a sparkle in my eyes. And I didn’t want to be “dangerous” anymore. It’s my natural state. That is just how I am, the purest me, when I’m left all alone in the middle of the world, with no unfavorable circumstances nor toxic relationships. Light, optimistic, content, careless, artistic, a bit crazy, (ir)responsible, weird, different, singing not being conscious about it... Welcome into me... I'm your friend, I'm your native soul, I’m your primal being... 20.06.06; 18:42 The yellow flowers on the rails are in full bloom at last. My shoulders and neck got a nice warm-bronze tone. Shortly under chestnuts I will find small green balls with beautiful green thorns that make water bronze when lying in it couple of hours. Behind the window it’s raining and there’s a beautiful thunderstorm. And I’m free. I’m just as free as I have never been before, I guess. (…) by dorota boroszko 6 7 8
