I have always wanted to go on a tour around the world. And since I won
the national lottery, I could afford that. I set off from my home city,
London. My first stop was Paris. It a wonderful city! The Eiffel Tower,
The Moulin Rouge, narrow streets of cobblestone and romantic cafes
on every corner have suited my taste. The next city I visited was
Barcelona. My first thought of it was that the hotness and sun have
painted most of the buildings. It has its climate as well as Paris but it's
much louder and livelier. From Spain I travelled to Germany as I wanted
to see Berlin. My first impression was expectable. It's a very well
organized country. The city is nice and with all the attractions like the
Brandenburg Gate, Postdamer Platz or Reichstag building it's definitely
worth seeing. Then, I decided to go south. I visited Switzerland and did
some sightseeing in Bern. The old city out there is really amazing. I
couldn’t resist visiting Einstein's house. Also the St. Vincent's cathedral
enchanted me. Being quite close I dropped by to Vienna. It's a
pleasant-looking city. I particularly liked the Belvedere and the
surrounding gardens.
I chose to go south some further. I reached Italy. This is a beautiful
country. In the north there are the Alps and with every mile driven
south, the scenery changes to a Mediterranean paradise. I stopped by
in Venice to verify its charm and fame. It really may fascinate the visitor.
Really narrow streets suddenly become small bridges over omnipresent
water. The St. Marcus' Square looks wonderful on a sunny day and the
Doge's Palace amazed me. My next stop was Florence, the city of
Michelangelo. Walking around it I felt like the early sixteenth century.
The place is simply extraordinary. Rome – what a magnificent city. The
three thousand years old buildings like Coliseum, Pantheon or the
Roman Forum truly astonished me. I was astounded when I saw the Di
Trevi fountain. The Vatican City is remarkable as well. The Papal
Basilica of Saint Peter is a breathtaking building. And the
Michelangelo's Pieta sculpture just made me stand in awe for 10
minutes. The city of Rome is definitely the most wonderful place on
Earth.
From Italy I flew to Greece to see the Athens. It has a similar spirit as
Rome but it can't beat perfection. The thousands of years old ruins
make you realize of your existence's insignificance. My next stop was
Egypt. I have always wanted to see the Pyramids. Well they are
amazingly huge and almost dignified. From hot Africa I flew to Japan to
see Tokyo. This is the most crowded and noisy city I have ever seen!
Japanese seem to get no sleep as even in the middle of the night the
streets are filled with people. One more flight and I was in Bangkok. It
must be marvellous for an east-culture lover. All the colourful lights and
people everywhere overwhelmed me a bit. I decided to go to the USA.
New York City welcomed me with rain. I must say that compared to
what I have already seen the Big Apple is just another city. It's modern
and as crowded as Tokyo. My last stop before going home was Buenos
Aires. I liked the way people live there. Up to this day I'm under the
impression that they're never worried at all. I think I should come back
here when the Carnival begins, this must be a wonderful show. At last,
after three months of constant travelling I came back home. I need a
rest. And develop some of the pictures.

Zawsze chciałem odbyć podróż dookoła świata. A skoro wygrałem w
Lotto, mogłem sobie na to pozwolić. Wyruszyłem z mojego rodzinnego
Londynu. Moim pierwszym przystankiem był Paryż. To cudowne
miasto! Wieża Eiffela, Moulin Rouge, wąskie brukowane uliczki i
romantyczne kafejki na każdym prawie rogu przypadły mi do gustu.
Następnym miastem, jakie odwiedziłem, była Barcelona. Pierwszą
myślą o nim było to, że gorąc i słońce musiały pomalować większość
budynków. Ma swój klimat tak samo jak Paryż, ale jest dużo głośniejsze
i żywsze. Z Hiszpanii pojechałem do Niemiec, bo chciałem zobaczyć
Berlin. Moje pierwsze wrażenie było przewidywalne. To bardzo dobrze
zorganizowany kraj. Miasto jest ładne, a z wszystkimi atrakcjami
turystycznymi takimi jak Brama Brandenburska, Plac Poczdamski czy
Reichstag jest na pewno warte zobaczenia. Następnie, zdecydowałem
się jechać na południe. Odwiedziłem Szwajcarię i pozwiedzałem Brno.
Stare miasto jest naprawdę imponujące. Nie mogłem oprzeć się
odwiedzeniu domu Einsteina. Takż, katedra św. Wincenta urzekła mnie.
Będąc niedaleko, wpadłem do Wiednia. To miło wyglądające miasto.
Szczególnie podobał mi się Belweder i otaczające go ogrody.
Postanowiłem jechać dalej na południe. Dotarłem do Włoch. To piękny
kraj. Na północy są Alpy, a z każdą milą przejechaną na południe,
krajobraz zmienia się w śródziemnomorski raj. Zatrzymałem się w
Wenecji, żeby zweryfikować jej czar i sławę. Może zafascynować
odwiedzającego. Naprawdę wąskie uliczki nagle stają się małymi
mostami nad wszechobecną wodą. Plac św. Marka wygląda cudownie
w słoneczny dzień, a Pałac Dożów oczarował mnie. Następnym
przystankiem była Florencja, miasto Michała Anioła. Spacerując tam,
czuło się wczesny szesnasty wiek. Miejsce jest po prostu
nadzwyczajne. Rzym – jakież cudowne miasto. Budynki sprzed trzech
tysięcy lat takie jak Koloseum, Panteon czy Forum Romanum naprawdę
mnie oczarowały. Byłem zauroczony, kiedy zobaczyłem fontannę Di
Trevi. Watykan jest również znakomity. Bazylika św. Piotra jest
cudownym budynkiem. A rzeźba Pieta Michała Anioła sprawiła, że
stałem w podziwie 10 minut. Rzym jest zdecydowanie najpiękniejszym
miejscem na Ziemi.
Z Włoch poleciałem do Grecji, by zobaczyć Ateny. Mają podobny klimat
jak Rzym, ale nie przebiją ideału. Kilku tysiącletnie ruiny sprawiają, że
człowiek zdaje sobie sprawę z nieważności swojego istnienia.
Następnym przystankiem był Egipt. Zawsze chciałem zobaczyć
piramidy. Cóż, są niewiarygodnie ogromne i prawie dostojne. Z gorącej
Afryki poleciałem do Japonii zwiedzić Tokio. To jest najbardziej
zatłoczone i hałaśliwe miasto, jakie kiedykolwiek widziałem! Japończycy
wydają się nie spać, bo nawet w środku nocy ulice wypełnione są
ludźmi. Jeszcze jeden lot i byłem w Bangkoku. To musi być wspaniałe
dla fana kultury Wschodu. Wszystkie te kolorowe światła i ludzie
troszkę mnie przytłoczyły. Zdecydowałem się polecieć do USA. Nowy
Jork przywitał mnie deszczem. Muszę powiedzieć, że w porównaniu do
tego, co już widziałem, Nowy Jork jest tylko kolejnym miastem. Jest
nowoczesny i tak zatłoczony jak Tokio. Moim ostatnim przystankiem
przed powrotem do domu było Buenos Aires. Podoba mi się to, jak żyją
tam ludzie. Po dziś dzień jestem zdania, że nigdy się nie martwią.
Myślę, że powinienem tu wrócić, kiedy zacznie się karnawał, to musi
być niesamowite widowisko. W końcu, po trzech miesiącach ciągłych
podróży, wróciłem do domu. Muszę odpocząć. I wywołać trochę zdjęć.
