Józef Walczak He was born in 1946 in Poznan. In 1973 he enrolled at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. In 1977 he graduated from the painting studio of Professor Stanisław Teisseyre and began working as an assistant in the studio of Tadeusz Brzozowski. Four years later, he became an assistant of professor Jacek Waltoś. He participated in sport expeditions to the Himalayas as a member of the Poznan Alpine Club. In 2000 he received the academic title of professor. In 2003 he won the Award of Excellence at the 46th Annual International Awards Exhibition in San Diego, California. He currently teaches painting at the University of Arts in Poznan (formerly known as the Academy of Fine Arts or ASP).
