Our church is a Polish– American Roman Catholic
parish and has become the center of Polish
religious,
cultural,
and
social
life.
Our parish is a place where Polish values are
proclaimed and upheld and also a place where
Poles and non-Poles can express fully their fidelity
to God. We are not in any sense a closed
community, and we welcome all Americans
and
all
ethnic
groups
to
our
church.
A key Polish value is openness to the universal
mission of the Church, and thus we try to make
our church a place in which our friends and
neighbors of non-Polish background can feel
comfortable practicing their Catholic faith.
If you are interested in the Catholic faith, which
flows forth from a 1000-year old Polish culture,
traditions and customs, please visit our church.

Dziś pierwsza niedziela października. W kościołach i we wspólnotach
rodzinnych rozpoczęliśmy nabożeństwa różańcowe. Przez wstawiennictwo Bożej Rodzicielki, biorąc do rąk różaniec, prośmy Jej Syna o
miłosierdzie dla nas i całego świata. Zachęcam do udziału w codziennej Mszy Świętej i w codziennie odprawianym w naszym kościele o
godzinie … październikowym nabożeństwie. A tych, którym trudniej
dotrzeć do kościoła, proszę o odmawianie różańca w domach. Błogosławiony Jan Paweł II w liście apostolskim Rosarium Virginis Mariae z
2002 roku napisał: „Za pośrednictwem różańca wierzący czerpie obfitość łaski, otrzymując ją niejako wprost z rąk Matki Odkupiciela”.
W niedziele i środy odmawiamy tajemnice chwalebne, w poniedziałki i
soboty tajemnice radosne, we wtorki i piątki – bolesne, w czwartki –
tajemnice światła. W tym duchu przeżyjemy też liturgiczne wspomnienie Najświętszej Maryi Panny Różańcowej, które przypada już jutro, 7
października.

TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY
God speaks to us in
many different ways. It
may be through the
promptings of a relative, friend or coworker. God may come
to us in the rising of the
morning sun. Or, He
may present himself in
the soft cooing of an
infant. If our faith, the
size of a mustard seed, is strong, it can move mulberry trees. With faith we can accomplish all that
the Lord sets before us. With faith, all of our problems will be manageable and perhaps, minimized.
Let us soften our hearts to hear the Lord's words
to us. When we go forth proclaiming God's love
that is manifested in us by the Lord's graces, we
will be doing his will. In this, we are on our way to
realizing that everything Jesus told us in the Gospel today is utterly true.
Wszystko, co naprawdę cenne, wymaga trudu.
Kiedy my niecierpliwie wołamy do Boga: „Krzywda
mi się dzieje, a Ty nie pomagasz!”, On wzywa do
udziału w trudach i przeciwnościach znoszonych
dla Ewangelii oraz do bezinteresownej służby tym,
których mamy wokół siebie. Czy potrafimy Mu
uwierzyć, że ofiarna miłość – wbrew temu, co głosi
dzisiejszy świat – rzeczywiście prowadzi do życia
i szczęścia? Przychodząc do Jezusa, który
w Eucharystii oddaje nam całego siebie, prośmy
wraz z Apostołami: „Panie, przymnóż nam wiary”.

Pope to canonize Blessed John XXIII, John Paul II April 27
Recognizing that Blessed John XXIII
and John Paul II have widespread reputations for holiness and that years of
studying their lives and actions have
proven their exceptional virtue, Pope
Francis announced he would declare his
two predecessors saints at a single ceremony April 27. Blessed John Paul, known as a globetrotter who
made 104 trips outside Italy, served as pope from 1978 to 2005
and was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on Divine Mercy Sunday,
May 1, 2011. Blessed John XXIII, known particularly for convoking the Second Vatican Council, was pope from 1958 to 1963;
Blessed John Paul beatified him in 2000.
Franciszek ustalił datę kanonizacji
Zgromadzenie kardynałów 30 września w Watykanie pod przewodnictwem Franciszka ustaliło datę kanonizacji dwóch błogosławionych papieży: Jana XXIII i Jana Pawła II i – zgodnie z wcześniejszymi oczekiwaniami – Ojciec Święty postanowił, że nastąpi
to 27 kwietnia 2014, gdy w Kościele powszechnym obchodzone będzie święto Miłosierdzia
Bożego, ustanowione właśnie
przez papieża Polaka.
