Gent, Warszawa & Wiedeń – 15 czerwca 2005 – w połowie maja, podczas targów
Telematics Update Detroit 2005, zostali ogłoszeni zdobywcy nagród w trzecim, corocznym,
konkursie Telematics Update Awards. Telematics Update Awards jest jedyną w świecie
imprezą, podczas której przyznawane są nagrody indywidualne i zbiorowe dla najlepszych
firm za wyjątkowe osiągnięcia w wybranych dziedzinach.
Tele Atlas, wiodący światowy dostawca map cyfrowych i informacji geograficznej, otrzymał
najwyższe wyróżnienie za technologię Mobile Mapping w kategorii: najlepsza technologia
i rozwiązanie telematyczne.
Mobile Mapping został wdrożony z sukcesem przez firmę Tele Atlas w Europie Zachodniej
w drugiej połowie 2004 r., pozwalając jej na osiągnięcie pozycji lidera w procesie zbierania
danych do baz nawigacyjnych. Dzięki technologii, wspólnie rozwiniętej i wdrożonej przez
PPWK GeoInvent oraz Tele Atlas, proces aktualizacji baz danych został znacznie
przyspieszony oraz - w odpowiedzi na rosnące potrzeby użytkowników – została podniesiona
precyzja pozyskiwanych danych.

Tele Atlas użytkuje obecnie 20 samochodów wyposażonych w Mobile Mapping, które

Tele Atlas i PPWK GeoInvent wspólnie pracują nad dalszym rozwojem technologii i badają

Tele Atlas wins Telematics Update Award for mobile
mapping technology co-developed by PPWK
GeoInvent and Tele Atlas
Gent, Warsaw & Vienna – June 15, 2005 – The winners of the third annual Telematics
Update Awards were announced mid-May during the Telematics Update Detroit 2005
exhibition. The Telematics Update Awards is the only event of its type to recognise the best
and brightest - both companies and individuals - for their outstanding performance and
achievements in their fields.
Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital map data and other geographic content took
home the highest accolade for mobile mapping technology in the category Best
Technology/Telematics Solution.
Mobile Mapping has been introduced successfully in Western Europe in the second half of
2004 and has positioned Tele Atlas as the leader in the navigation database collection
process. Thanks to this new technology, co-developed by PPWK GeoInvent and Tele Atlas,
the updating process gained substantially in speed and precision to match the continuously
increasing demands of navigation data users.

Tele Atlas now has 20 mobile mapping vehicles that are gathering data continuously.
Thirteen of these are camper vans to maximise data collecting time in less populated areas.
Tele Atlas and PPWK GeoInvent are working together to further develop this technology and
evaluate new fields of application. The recently released by PPWK GeoInvent MMS 3D adds
additional dimension to the data capture and extraction process. Both companies are also
working together to expand the coverage of Tele Atlas data namely in Eastern European
countries. The work has started with the connector network linking capitals and major cities
in Central Eastern Europe between each other and with Western Europe on one side and
Russia and Turkey on the other side.
